150cc Live Diplomacy Club
Well given that the original thread slid into the depth I figured I'd start a new thread, and try and give a little life back to what I think was a promising idea: Essentially a high class live game club

"We are saying safEST. "

There's your problem. No one could have known that.

Everyone knew the President would be at Booker. America had been attacked by surprise. No one could have known the President wasn't a target.

But the SS knew he wasn't.

"Ever think the military might have scrambled jets to circle the school and that's why he wasn't moved?"

No one knew it wasn't a state sponsored attack at 9:05. So, for every scenario you want to entertain, it only drives the nail of my point into the heart of your argument even further because it underscores that fact that no one knew anything.

But the SS knew. They knew he wasn't a target.
Darwyn (1601 D)

"Darwyn isn't going to accept that hunkering down in the school was the correct course of action because he is decieved into thinking that putting the president's life on the line by moving him is safer than staying put in a small building..."

With everyone knowing the Presidents agenda, it is impossible to know his stated whereabouts were safe. Period. End of story.

Most assassinations and assassination attempts occur on someone who is in transit, because being in transit exposes you to so many more attacks. If someone's there to hit the room you're in, they're also there to hit you when you're leaving. If someone's there to hit you when you're leaving, they're not there to hit you in the room you're in.

There is no way in one day that you can learn to hit one particular ground target in a sea of similar ground targets if up until then you were training to hit large buildings that had ground and/or air clearance around them and were easily identifiable. It simply can't be done. The schedule was published on September 10, and at that time, they're already on a hijacking timetable and cannot pause it to learn new things.

Draug has MP experience. I worked for a US company in a not-favorable-to-the-US country for a while, I was trained how to deal with assassination or hostage attempts (as the target, not as a preventer). If you have more experience than either of us, please feel free to state your credentials.

"The 4th plane was believed to be headed to DC to strike either the White House or the Capital building."

You are using hindsight. You, nor anyone else, could be sure there wasn't a fifth...or sixth...or (insert whatever you want here).

No one could have known anything. It was a surprise.

You too are using hindsight. No one could have known that hijacking was the only attack. No one could have known it wasn't state sponsored.

No one could have known anything. It was a surprise. But the SS knew the President wasn't a target.

SacredDigits (102 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
They treated him exactly as they should have treated a target...keep him in a safe controlled place until you know what's happening. The odds are in your favor there.

Who's the guy that always dies in scary movies? The guy who tries to run before they know what's going on. That happens in real life too.
Darwyn (1601 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
"keep him in a safe controlled place"

The skies of America were safe and controlled before 9-11. The attack proves it never was. Therefore, you absolutely cannot make the same assumption about the known whereabouts of the President.

But the SS made that assumption. They knew he wasn't a target.
Darwyn (1601 D)

"It means your credibility on this forum is finished. "

Then why are you still posting?
SacredDigits (102 D)

Look at the four Presidential assassinations. Garfield and Kennedy were in transit. McKinley and Lincoln were in very public settings. The closest call since Kennedy was on an in-transit Reagan. No President has ever been killed in a relatively private, controlled setting, and the last to die in a public non-transit setting was in 1901.

You have a success and the closest near miss in 50 years with in transit Presidents of the US. Not counting Squeaky Fromme's attempt on an in-transit Ford. So you would choose the avenue where more successful Presidential assassinations occur rather than the school. This is why you don't work security,

I'll say this simply so you might understand.

Skies big. Impossible for small team to see all of.

Outdoors big. Impossible for small team to see all of.

School small Possible for small team to see all of.
Darwyn (1601 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
small team?

No one could be sure it was a small team or a large team. You couldn't be sure it wasn't state sponsored.
I can't be sure the sun won't blow up tomorrow either. Same old Darwyn. So how are the jews involved in this conspiracy?
SacredDigits (102 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
A small team of secret service. You know how many men are on your team, right?

And the skies above America were not known to be safe before then, hijackings have happened since there's been planes. DB Cooper is the most famous one. And Bush had received a report about terrorists wanting to use planes as, essentially, mobile bombs. So you see that's the modus operandi, you can tell the current location is not a threat from that sort of attack, you can tell it's the safest place from the most common form of assassination attempt, you know that if you leave you're wide open to that form, you stay. It's very simple logic.
Darwyn (1601 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
"it's the safest place from the most common form of assassination attempt"

you assume a common form, but America is under attack. You can't account for anything other than the fact that everyone knows where you are.
SacredDigits (102 D)
30 Jul 11 UTC
Which is why, at that point, you have to play the odds. If they know where you are, they know how to leave where you are, so that's dangerous too. Any action or inaction could lead to assassination, so you have to go with what you've been trained to do in potential assassination situations. You don't know anything, so you don't know if they plan to attack you where you are or while leaving where you are. Historical precedent says usually the latter. So you don't do that.
Darwyn (1601 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
"If they know where you are, they know how to leave where you are"

perhaps...but just as equally, perhaps not.

Once again, this is a surprise attack. The attack itself shatters all assumptions. The only thing you know is that everyone knows where you are.

Staying invites attack...Moving eliminates it.

Darwyn, you have for some reason failed to answer an important question I asked you. So I'm going to ask again:

You said: "It's not the SS's job to play guessing games with the President's life. It's their job is to guarantee his safety."

I asked: Please explain how moving the President out of the school at that moment would have "guaranteed" his safety?
SacredDigits (102 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
So if people know you're in a building, it's possible they don't know that building has exits?

Alright, that's enough idiocy for me. I'm done.
Darwyn (1601 D)

"Please explain how moving the President out of the school at that moment would have "guaranteed" his safety? "

you cannot target what you cannot see.
Darwyn (1601 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
Sacred...everytime you use the word "if", you strengthen my point. If this, if that is exactly correct. No one could have known anything.
SacredDigits (102 D)
31 Jul 11 UTC
The if in question there is in reference to what you said was a known, Darwyn.

See?

"The only thing you know is that everyone knows where you are."

"So if people know you're in a building,"

The "if" is in what you state as a known. If you want to tarnish the credibility of that if, you tarnish the credibility of your entire argument. So, actually, when I use that word and you disagree with it, you effectively flush your entire argument down the toilet.

And no one has X-ray vision, so they couldn't see him inside the building. Outside the building is a place anyone can see you. Can't target what you can't see means stay in the building.

Can't target what you can't see was a misnomer. What I meant by "see" was of course, location. If you don't know where it is (can't see it), it can't be targeted.

Who the fuck doesn't Draugnar have on mute? Haven't read a vast majority of this thread...but seeing the Draug is putting someone on mute is like seeing that "humans breath air".

Draugnar, apparently, is a weak-ass *bitch* that is emotionally incapable of handling any post that disagrees with him.

EVERYONE....other than me....I'm on mute with baby-boy...needs to tell the whiny bitch to shut the fuck up until he is MAN enough to actually read and respond to different points of view.

My 12 and 13 year old have more maturity than that stupid bitch Draugnar.

i play two games where one country doesnt want to stop the pause because they are losing and thats a fact
one of them i know personally and he told me that
so one bad loser ruins the game to the other 6
i think the unpause must be majority like 60 percent or so
