Best advice I can give on being a conservative (or even a centrist) in a progressive college/university is to keep your political opinions to yourself and quietly go about your schooling. People there find out you're a conservative and your life in that school is going to get very miserable very fast.

Or go to engineering where no one really cares all that much.

Or you could try not being an ultra-conservative.

Just be a good person.

There are conservatives getting bullied and beaten at colleges and universities that would have died laughing at your application, but they must be too stupid according to your brilliant logic.

Well, they could also know how best to channel their energies. Standing up for one's beliefs doesn't have to manifest itself in direct confrontation with hysterical protesters. The smart conservatives at my university spent their time talking about it in class and sparring there with their liberal and socialist counterparts. Or they found backup and started a club. Or they hosted events that they themselves organised. Some even became activists.

The idea that it's a choice between silent subservience and getting beaten up is very silly. I guess I'll congratulate you on being at Berkley. I'm not from the USA, but since I've heard of the school, I'll assume it's prestigious. But maybe you shouldn't squander your opportunity by being such a coward.
