Are countries assigned randomly?
New to this site here, so sorry if this is answered elsewhere that I didn't find. Are countries assigned randomly when a game starts? (I'm noticing in the Championship Belt Game Series that xorxes always plays Austria and captainmeme always plays France, but have not found any setting for choosing a country or assigning preferences or anything.)

Uber is kind of cool
So, I dont actually plan to spend money. But I downloaded this cool app called uber. I think its like, taxi cabs or toy cars or something. But they move. They wiggle around and travel places on this cool map that looks a little like real life. I watched this one car strolling down a highway. This is neat. How do I take over one of these cartoon car thingys

Hiliary rigged her nomination
Former interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile has come out exposing the Clinton campaign of taking over the DNC prior to her getting the nomination as the party's candidate which gave Clinton the control over the party's finances, strategy and all the money raised.

Incomplete orders on the small preview map are a problem.
Not all orders (most notably support orders) are shown on the small preview map of a game and, especially in Gunboat, this is pretty problematic.

Former Trump friend Manafort has 3 different US passports under his own name and at least one under a fake name that's he's used to travel and possibly move money. The first to be indicted and a step up the ladder of Republican lies about what was happening during the election campaign.

Axis & Allies general discussion thread
See title. I started playing it about a month ago. It's quite fun and a very different challenge from Diplomacy. I'm still getting my head wrapped around the editions, but I believe my group plays the "Classic" version (Spring 1942 start and there are no artillery, destroyers, etc.)

A friend and I are also working on a "present-day" version.

if you think about it any of us could die tomorrow and the site would never know. The games would go on and nothing would change. In a month people may say “I ausverkauft seen so and so around.” But then nothing.

Turkey in a Gravy boat
So given Turkey looks juicy but its dry, I think a solution could be to just dip the turkey in a gravy boat. in a GB, I think dryness is minimized. I want it to be moist.

A geopolitical forum game set in 2009
There's a forum game that will start sometime this month called "Balance of Power 2009." You can find it here: http://eregime.org/index.php?act=idx

Some users on eRegime also play on webDiplomacy, which is why I mention this.

Turkey in a Gunboat
So given Turkey looked like it was the least fun to play especially in a GB, I decided to look trough past games where turkey won. What I noticed was many of those wins happened when either Russia or Austria CD'd the first turn. If Russia cd'd they'd move to Armenia vv

He should be afraid of doing it.

Conservative students are being bullied and attacked across the country by liberal students.

Of course the liberals and media falsely claim all hate and violence only comes from the right.

God forbid you point out that there is fault on all sides. You get labeled a white supremacist for saying all racism is bad.

“Conservative students are being bullied and attacked across the country by liberal students.”

That’s not particularly inspiring, though, is it?

Best advice I can give on being a conservative (or even a centrist) in a progressive college/university is to keep your political opinions to yourself and quietly go about your schooling. People there find out you're a conservative and your life in that school is going to get very miserable very fast.
Fluminator (1500 D)

@TrPrado

You have a point but unfortunately I don't think it's worth the effort and gray hairs to fight it out alone against hundreds or thousands of screeching SJW's at a regressive univeristy.
Yeah, seriously I just went about school spending as little time talking about issues like that as possible. Just put your head down and talk politics on webdip

@KansasBoyd So he should hide his beliefs because he might get bullied? What kind of chickenshit are you? I went to a pretty left-wing school and the only conservatives/right-wingers who got bullied were mocked because they were stupid. There were plenty of intelligent conservatives who were not mocked and who got high marks from our socialist professors.

@TrPrado You don't know me or my story. Get away from me, you freak.

@pangloss So because someone doesn't want to get the shit kicked out of him by the antifa makes them chickenshit?

What are you, 12?

You are at college to get an education, so why would you do anything that could put that at jeopardy?

Think with the big head, not the little head.
TrPrado (461 D)

Find a student group and make friends. Guaranteed to find like-minded folks.
pangloss (363 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
@KansasBoyd, I'm at least 13. And you're not going to get any shit kicked out of you unless you go around waving a tiki torch. Even then, I think you'll be fine. Maybe if you stopped being such a chickenshit you'd be able to stand up for your beliefs and find out how you'd be treated.

Going to college and engaging in a debate with other students is not squandering an opportunity. If you're able to articulate your beliefs in a coherent and logical fashion, you won't be in any trouble of any sort. Of course, if you're too stupid to do that, then I guess I don't know how to help you.

13.. what you don't know about life is amazing but vast. you are ignorant. but there is a cure for ignorance
pangloss (363 D)
30 Oct 17 UTC
Tell me, O wise one, would the cure be to hide myself on campus and outsource my thoughts to my professors in the name of saving face before people I don't respect?
KansasBoyd (25 DX)
30 Oct 17 UTC
" Of course, if you're too stupid to do that, then I guess I don't know how to help you. "

So I guess all the conservatives that have been bullied and beaten at Berkeley are too stupid huh?

LOL!!!

OK Chief.

There are conservatives getting bullied and beaten at colleges and universities that would have died laughing at your application, but they must be too stupid according to your brilliant logic.
pangloss (363 D)

Well, they could also know how best to channel their energies. Standing up for one's beliefs doesn't have to manifest itself in direct confrontation with hysterical protesters. The smart conservatives at my university spent their time talking about it in class and sparring there with their liberal and socialist counterparts. Or they found backup and started a club. Or they hosted events that they themselves organised. Some even became activists.

The idea that it's a choice between silent subservience and getting beaten up is very silly. I guess I'll congratulate you on being at Berkley. I'm not from the USA, but since I've heard of the school, I'll assume it's prestigious. But maybe you shouldn't squander your opportunity by being such a coward.
KansasBoyd (25 DX)
30 Oct 17 UTC
So every conservative that has been beaten up has been a direct response to hysterical protestors?

LOL!!!!

Chief, learn what you are talking about first before addressing the topic.

Everyone will be better off for it.

Thank you.
