Live Games - process delay
I've recently played a live game for the first time in a few months, and I'm finding that the timer counts down to "Now", but then it actually takes 30-40 seconds to process the orders. This means people are able to enter or change orders *after* the phase should have ended.

Political Views
The campaigns of Clinton and Trump have been running for a little over a year now and political tensions have been running high in the United States. As someone who's relatively new to this site, I couldn't help but wonder whether webdiplomacy players tend to be more liberal or conservative.

Game Titles
As I peruse other people's games, I've often been amused by game titles. It's a shame we can't see who the clever title authors are. It may not be wise during the game, but it would be cool if it were displayed after the game was over.

New Online Diplomacy Podcast!
Some friends of mine from vDip - The Ambassador and Kaner406 - have started up a Diplomacy Podcast focused on the online scene. You can find it here: http://diplomacygames.com/

It's also on iTunes, Overtune and Stitcher (search 'Diplomacy Games'), and should be on Google Play but hasn't appeared there yet for some reason.

@brainbomb

you're trying to back Clinton, and you need to stop. The ONLY reason why she's going to win is because
1. Independents don't see a better option
2. Bernie endorsed her
3. Even some Republicans hate Trump

sh eis not a great candidate. She has not been great secretary of state, she has mishandles classified information, ( a counter argument to this is "well it wasn't all labelled as classified" but... some of it was. how do you justify that??? ), she has received through the Clinton foundation more money from foreign leaders than any Secretary of State in the history of our country, and she has run smear campaigns on women who are potential rape victims, and been against Gay marriage (right up until the number's changed in favor of it)

Overall the Trump business has been successful. Maybe not as successful as claimed, but successful. Many ventures have failed, but that's risk. We can't have that same risk level with government.

ISIS has been around since 1998. Pointing. That. Out.

by the way, a lot of you, (not surprisingly) did not read the links in the OP, or at the beginning, and seem to be of the impression that I am saying Voting is a privilege. The articles in question point out that the people voting for third party candidates, demographically tend to be white males, hence the term "white male privilege". if you don't know what "white privilege" even is, then there isn't much chance you would understand the OP.

wait... what is white privilege then, as you define it? i legit want to know to clear up terms

because looking ONLY at raw statistics, there is female privilege in the criminal justice system and ethnic privilege in the collegiate system

Yanik, thats all well and good, but Obama was also against gay marriage. not to the point of being a bigot about it and wanting to overturn supreme court rulings. He was of the opinion marriage is between a man and a woman. So fuck no I am not going to sit here and hold Hillary under a magnifier of scrutiny over being against gay marriages in the freaking 90's. What you might call flip flopping, I call evolving to meet the needs of an evolving nation, and an evolving political atmosphere. This is the starkest difference between faith based political ideologues and liberals. Faith based politicians cannot escape their own principles, and are incapable of adapting to meet the demands of their changing constituents.

And there's a difference of ACTUALLY changing, and pandering for votes.

We adults (TrPrado and I) tend to be able to spot the difference

White Privilege here meaning: these people who wanna go to music festivals and talk about being edgy and cool, and cite one or two political issues and try to talk about how corrupt the system is and how they're gonna be the one to change it all. The truth is, no, you arent, third party candidates arent going to be relevant here, or ever when it comes to the Presidency. You can harp about how you are excercising your rights and yaddy yadda, the fact is, no your just a bunch of spoiled millenial brats who think your own individual opinions and liberties are more important than the issues themselves.

At least ND is taking a principled stand, its batshit crazy but at least I know what I am getting and I know on substance his positions are just pretty much the same neo con shit weve heard since the 1980's.

These third party people are what, less than 10% of the entire electorate? its mostly just young white dudes who have some axe to grind about the political party system. Alot of them supported Ron Paul, or Bernie Sanders, which is fucking hilarious when you think about it...

Ron Paul OR Bernie Sanders.
Or RAND PAUL or Bernie Sanders.

Yea, nothing, bi polar or hypocritical there?
leon1122 (190 D)

Individuals can't "evolve". They can only adapt. Hillary is adapting to the political atmosphere to save her own career.

Its also common sense leon. Are you against homosexuals being married? what do you care about more, gay people being allowed to be married or the fact Hillary supports that right.

Say what is Pence's position on that subject?
What is Trumps position on that also?
What is the Republican Parties stance on homosexuality in general?
JamesYanik (548 D)

@brainbomb

once again, i'm voting for Clinton, but i still respect people voting for Johnson. Sometimes. It depends

"your ideas aren't practical so they aren't worth having"

that was the Gay movement in the 80s and 90s
JamesYanik (548 D)

@brainbomb

also you're stereotyping ALL 3rd party voters, as radical white teens who aren't smart and have no opinions of their own.

and... that's bigotry
brainbomb (290 D)

Im not going to be voting on people who want to scale us back to the 1950s, and shunning gay people. I dont really care if Hillary 12 years ago or 30 years ago wasnt fully on board with gay marriage. She is now. Thats what matters. Who is going to get into office and start stripping away peoples rights, and turning over the right to shut down these marriages state by state. These states rights people would LOVE moving to Kansas. Love Love Love, pretty sure Kansas just does whatever they want. There isnt even a single abortion clinic in Kansas, they shut it down. And all these people who say the federal govt is dictating what states do as so fucking full of crap. Just look at Kansas if you want an example of everything the Republican Party stands for, No taxes for the rich. zero revenue. dry state mostly that actually is still using prohibition. no gay marriages, no abortions. Kansas is literally living in 1867.
brainbomb (290 D)
06 Oct 16 UTC
I think Kansas ranks as one of the most insolvent states in the US currently under their own SELF CREATED taxation policies. which are a direct mirror of what Trump-Pence want us to buy into. its that same trickle down limited govt shit Romney preached. it also just creates insolvency. (something trump is really good at)
JamesYanik (548 D)
06 Oct 16 UTC
I'm going to assume that was meant for someone else, because I've reiterated time and time again that I am not for Republicans

Also:

@brainbomb

you clearly have a warped view of modern Republicans.

Look at Gov. Scott Walkers accomplishments too. Another guy who took Tea Party economics and turned Wisconsin into an insolvent crime ridden, drunken shit hole.
brainbomb (290 D)
06 Oct 16 UTC
Wisconsin ranks among the most intoxicated states in the US, with 5 of the top 10 cities being the drunkest per capita, Milwaukee one of the most violent places in America with more police shootings of African Americans than any other city. A state without Unions, zero tax revenue, the guy barely survived a recall for gods sakes.

And this dude is Pence's debate coach. And a beloved Republican. "what has he done?"

Wisconsin is in terrible shape, is this the kind of economics you want applied nationwide?
brainbomb (290 D)
06 Oct 16 UTC
Yanik, if this election is so hard for you to make a decision on, or really anyone for that matter, then just choose between hot pockets or pizza rolls. I guess thats a decision you youngsters can handle.

JamesYanik (548 D)
06 Oct 16 UTC
@brainbomb

if you're arguing economics, look at democratically controlled metropolitan areas, the poverty rates, and the crime rates.

because Politician's economics: are some of the worst economics you'll ever see
