"but dude, if you are suck a dick, I will stay away"
So, I recently saw two 'chums' of mine settle their argument by means of sucking dick. Is this an American thing or is it a new influence from the Latino community (whose stereotypical accent my 'chum' likes to impersonate in his typing)?

Game question
If a unit attempts to capture territory and it would successfully do so otherwise, but that unit must be destroyed because that player loses supply centres that phase, will the territory it attempts to move into be captured?

EoG- Final Game 1
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=75338#votebar

Given that my other 'final game' didn't finish, this really did turn out to be my last on the site. It would have been nice to have soloed, and frustratingly I think I missed a couple of decent opportunities, but I'm still very pleased with the result, especially given my weak start! More later!!

Why is it that...
Everyone seems to think that the sole Biblical source outlawing gay marriage rests in Leviticus? I've seen this in my conversations with friends and classmates and also on this forum here. There are in fact a number of different places where the Bible outlaws gay marriage.

I'm not trying to argue for whether it is right or wrong in this thread. I just am curious as to why there is so much misinformation floating around.

multiple breeds of sharks are getting together to have massive orgies leading to frightening hybrids! on a related note, global warming must be real because dc cherry blossoms came out a bit early, nevermind that snow in the sahara for the first time ever... or wait, maybe that snow proves global warming as well.

good video?
a youtube video that really rings true for me. particularly the part that says school sucks and the part that compares obama to hitler. only problem is that it sounds vaguely poetic, and poetry is gay.

Failure of Obama's Housing Market Policy
Why are home prices still falling in 2012 four years after their initial collapse?
Because the government wasted hundreds of billions if not a trillion dollars on futile attempts to manipulate the market and keep home prices up. What foolishness. The market can't be denied people- finger in the dike stuff.

Not my words but an interesting viewpoint
We should look to the antics of our own war addicted leaders with their mockery of democracy before we get involved in any other country. The West holds no moral high ground, while this state of enslavement to the economy of us, the people, exists, to interfere with other systems of rule. The veneer of legitimacy of our own goverments these days is no thicker than that of the Taliban

Legislating a Faith..
After reading some of the comments in the gay marriage debate I have come to wonder why certain faiths feel the need to legislate their morals. Do they feel that their way is the only way or is it just a method to control everything?

My answer is to educate them on contraceptives and hopefully that would prevent the need for an abortion to even take place. Women need to take it upon themselves to prevent pregnancy and not just rely on the men to do so.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
"I wasn't saying a girl that was raped or will die from the pregnancy. I am talking about those that just sleep around and get knocked up."

Oh, so it's OK to abort if you were raped.

So it really IS more about punishing a bad decision than about all life being sacred? Is that what you're saying?
Essentially you are saying the kid should be killed because he will be poor or raised up bad. It doesn't matter I am still sure he would rather be alive than dead in any situation.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
nobody is saying the kid SHOULD be anything. I'm saying it's for each parent to decide whats best for themselves... please answer my above question.
I am unsure about my opinion about the too. That's why I stated I wasn't talking about those. I think it's horrible what happened to the girl but I don't think the child should be punished for what his father did. I am not sure on those issues. What I am sure on are those that had all the say in the situation.
semck83 (229 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
@YJ, they can easily put the children up for the adoption, and then the child will not be there messing up their lives.
@semck
Thank you.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
Well I would ask you to consider why you are unsure.

I would guess it's because either answer is a logic trap, and you are aware of it.

But the argument you have laid out has a logical conclusion in one of those answers, and I really must insist that you continue.

So is all life NOT sacred, or do you force women to raise a rape baby?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
@semck:

If I were a woman and raped, there is no way I would want to carry my rapists child to term.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
There is nothing easy about that scenario.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
@YJ I agree, but I know people who would. While I cannot fathom why they would I respect their choice to do so.
And about this topic. Isn't any law neccesarily based on an essence of faith. Your belief is that government shouldn't intervene. Mine is that people need to live morally. Just because mine is apart of a church and yours is not doesn't make it non-religious.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
Of course, Celtic, and that is their individual choice. Choice, after all, is what we are demanding.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
HC, I'll be happy to change the subject after you've answered the question.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
That is true but different faith have different morals and for you to impose your morals on me would be denying me the right to my own.

Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
no no no, Celtic, he's argued down 5 different chains and ended up here (just like they always do) and I've cornered him. Don't let him escape yet.
You are imposing your morals on me as well. There is no true winner here. America has to either say we are going to be a country with laws based on Aethism or Christianity. There is no in between because we will never stop arguing.
Wait I am cornered?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
No, I am not imposing my morals on you. Only the pro-life stance does that.

In fact, as I've mentioned before, I agree with your statement that life is sacred.

The only difference between me and you is that I can respect others' right to choose for themselves.

Now, please, answer the above question.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
Yes, and you know you are, or you wouldn't be trying so hard to change the subject. Answer the above question, please.
Which one, there was quite a few and yes you are imposing your morals. You stated them in your post third line.
Do I think should a woman have to keep a rape baby? I don't have a clear consensus but I would vote yes.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
Do you or do you not force a woman to deliver a rape baby to term?

I'll get to your other point afterwords - lest you get sidetracked.
Right above your post.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
Well yes I'm curious to his answer as well, but I'm more apt to be nice. How would I be forcing my morals upon you. If you don't like abortion don't have one and help to prevent the need for one.

Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
OK, so you believe that a woman has to love and rear a constant reminder of a horrible horrible experience, as well as accept all of the medical risks inherent with giving birth, through no fault of her own?

That seems a bit extreme, doesn't it?
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
And the costs as well. It's 8,000 now to give birth if you don't have health insurance.
I didn't say she had to keep it, again there is adoption. Your morals are it is someone's right to chose. Mine are it is not there right to chose. Obviously both of us are pushing the others morals on each other.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
16 Mar 12 UTC
@HC I have to agree with that. And there's no way to balance both since there really isn't any grey area.
