I just dont like chess as it often repeats itself in moves. Ex. you check my king so i block with pawn. you move your bishop back then i hold pawn

chess is very very far from whatever you think it is, but maybe u'll need a good chess instructor to fully apretiate that

That sounds like a pretty piss-poor instructor.

I would agree that playing chess can be very helpful to diplomacy, but I don't think disliking chess makes you a poor diplomacy player.

Heh, I found it funny a guy named checkmate was talking about chess. Maybe it's being up at 2 AM.

Anyway, killer, while I would also encourage the chess route for improving tactics and strategy, focus most of your work on Diplomacy itself. One thing you're really doing well and should continue to do is play a lot of games. You saw Russia in the last game we played, and while it's not a great example due to the amount of CDs in the game, that was my first really successful Russia bout. It took a few rounds of failing -- sometimes terribly, I had one game where England was in Moscow by A1903 -- to figure out what I needed to fix.

it is being up at 2 AM. Anyway, I have been every country like at least three times. Turkey is my favorite. I formed the Juggernaut with a non-backstabber and we had jokes about everything evil while we were playing. Those are the good games
