bohemia sits directly on the north-south and east-west stalemate lines, that's hardly irrelevant. syria is a one-trick pony, it's only a gateway to smyrna. i'd say the closest thing to it is the gob.

and i think sceptic_ka has raised an excellent point about POR. but by its nature of being an SC, doesn't that make it necessarily more relevant than a province with no SC that is minimally situated?

I think that's probably why Portugal is an SC - it's the only territory in the game that borders only two others. It would be hard for it to be relevant if it weren't an SC.
I personally would vote for Syria, and again this is probably because of the lack of territories that it borders, and the fact it's in the corner of the board.
In second I'd have to go for Clyde, but that's mostly because I don't think I've ever occupied it other than because I was having my backside spanked as England. I disagree with anyone who says that Tuscany is irrelevant, it can (and has for me in the past) have a massive effect on the battle for the Med.

You can never retreat from Portugal. I don't know if that makes it irrelevant, but it certainly makes it no fun to be stuck in.

I guess I'm alone on thinking Bohemia isn't too important. Oh well.

I also nominate Gulf of Bothnia. Not terribly important, if you ask me. It just lets Russia get over to Sweden, and even then it can use Finland.

I can't believe nobody's said anything about the Adriatic Sea. Austria almost never attacks Italy using that province, and any attack against Austria is done far more effectively overland, regardless of where the attack is coming from.

adriatic sea and gulf of bothnia definitely deserve to be mentioned. i'd say adriatic edges out bothnia tho.

I have never seen the North Atlantic Ocean occupied, at least I don't think I have.

i use the adriatic sea all the time. and bohemia is used when germany is attacking austria. id have to go with syria.

An attack on LVP can be just as well executed from NAO (thanks, Dingleberry!), convoys to WAL go via ENG and to hold MAO for a stalemate from the North NAO, ENG and BRE are sufficient...

Hell, and despite it's name it doesn't even recolour Ireland...

Let's just make a poll and get this over with. We each choose the two provinces that we believe are the least relevant and put two votes on the least reelvant, one in the second least relevant.

I'll start:

Clyde: 2
Irish Sea: 1

Clyde connects to two British centers and NWG. Which can make it useful when withdrawing from EDI or LVP or attacking from NWG.

Irish is useful when support-holding a blockade at MAO.

Xapi - htats what I was going for, but if we don't get a short-list this will surely take years.
