Just a comment on seeding ... 1,8,15,22, etc. means that group A is (marginally) stronger than B, which is stronger than C, etc. Using a scheme like 1,14,15,28,29,42,43 then 2,13,16,27,30,41,44 etc. would have been more theoretically even (unbalanced only by the relative strengths of players 43-49).
