Well, bo, it was in the rules (rule 6) of the last game and people did it anyway so, if you're going to make it a gentlemen's agreement, maybe getting people to explicitly agree to it before game start would be appropriate. I believe its the only rule anyone broke.

For every 5 infractions per faction, someone from the other faction gets revived.

2) Since you like the gentlemen's agreement idea I'm supporting you on that. My suggestion was making the agreement, well, an AGREEMENT that people post at the beginning of the game rather than just being a rule that "No one reads... lol"

Banning people form playing again. Which incidentally I did not bring up nor have I endorsed.

I am not going to ban people from playing again. This is webDip mafia, not the Naval Academy.

Well, it is more than possible to "ban" people from future mafia games, but technically a GM could only ban someone from games they host, it would be up to any other GM as whether to support the ban in their games.

Can we simply not open that can of worms? Just a month ago we were desperate to attract members to the point that we considered delaying the game and now we're discussing bans.

issue tempbans, this is standard procedure on other sites. say a warning followed by a required 1-game sit-out for chronic deadposting

as long as other GMs are willing to follow through (and they should be; after all, deadposting is a problem that need be solved), a warning should suffice to dissuade anybody from deadposting

there's really not much else we can do about it tbh

I'm fine with temp bans, but we should put a reminder in the death PM. So rather than just "You died. Here's the observer QT." do "You are dead. Remember that dead/ghost posting will result in a 1-game suspension."

Then maybe we should figure out the M7 GM in this thread so that we can have his/her (being the less likely) approval of those temporary bans beforehand.

So from what I can tel(couldn't quickly find mafia 3 through google) the roles have been much the same each game- town has a cop, vigilante and doctor, mafia has a factional roleblock and there is a sk, who the exact rules on have changed somewhat. I know this game will be w/o sk, is BO or anyone else considering running a game thinking of making any other changes? Myself I think I would be interested in a game with no cop. The cop role doesn't appeal to me, it seems outside the spirit of searching for mafia by their actions.

i had pitched a themed game with some nonstandard roles before, but i don't want to hijack bo's plans for the game by pushing for that

Why not have a doctor who can't protect himself as the only town power, and get rid of the SK and the roleblock ability?

I had an idea for a "Sleeper" mafia man. He doesn't know he is mafia initially (told he is town) but the other mafia knows who he is, and can "activate" him during a night phase.

That's an interesting idea, Chaqa. The only caveat would be that he can't be activated immediately, correct?

I am okay with eliminating the cop. I am also okay if the doctor can't protect himself. If we eliminate the cop, though, is there anything anyone would like to replace it with?

My thought was if they wanted to activate the sleeper they had to give up their night kill.
