Are you guys joining the game we hope to start in two hours or so? Hellenic Riot and me are in for certain, Artum is done with work around then so we hope he joins.

I usually play on 6 or 7, and though I win most times it's with other settings that I prefer.

Luckily for us we're diplomacy players so we'll be sure to stalemate ya if you're going for the win..

I'm catching some sleep but meanwhile it's perhaps a good idea to think of what type of turn sequence we want: sequential, simultaneous or hybrid..

I find that simultaneous usually works fine, though I recall it used to bog down the systems prior to Brave New World, dunno if it still does. We can always test it. I'll be up for testing games when I get home in an hour and a half (as steephie above)

Hybrid is the only one I've played online before, but that was largely because it didn't kill the response time as badly prior to BNW.

If you have a decent internet connection simultaneous turns with a timer should work just fine.

I'm gonna try to find this group on Steam and join it. I'm slowly working my way up in difficulty settings. Just finished a cultural victory on 4 without breaking a sweat, so I might jump to 6 next and see how it goes.

I must say hybrid works better than I expected. I recommend it.

I've been playing with mendax and Atrum, was good fun so far. We plan to continue tonight.

I think I would ideally want a larger map, probably with AIs that match up fairly well with us, and perhaps also slower gameplay than this time.

I'm up for more games btw. Pretty much any time still works for me, but I would ideally know as far in advance as possible.

P.S. @ Bayclown, if you haven't decided already, at this point I would say no-brainer is an understatement for Civ 5 if you want to spend the money on a game.

For context for Steephie's comment, as there were only 3 of us and I had no idea what standard we all were, I set it up as a Tiny map (4-player) with no AI but more city states.

Yup, probably should have mentioned that. Also worth mentioning is that it's a continents game with all of us on one continent and the pace is quick.

So even though I really thought it was quite fun so far, I think there's quite some more potential with different settings.

(And I've got almost all of the city states to myself... muahaha)

(well that too, there are probably 6 city states on a continent together, I noticed that was the map style last night too)

So around 10pm GMT seems like the prime time to start, with everyone who told us what time they can play around at that time.

One question to figure out is whether mendax, Atrum and I are willing to start a new game with the other guys (for now goldfinger, perhaps more), pausing our current game until it's just the three of us again or something.
I'd be up for starting that new game but if mendax and Atrum want to continue the old one first I suppose I sort of owe them that.
