No semk, opinions are always open to critique. But opinions about topics which no real answer exist, can't be wrong, only disagreed with. A thread about the meaning of life is such a topic.

Now a thread about which gun GZ should carry, while still looking for opinions, can actually produce wrong opinions, because they are opinions about some that has tangible facts supporting their wrongness. Gunfighter opinion about Glock is a good example.

Maybe it boils down to this ... My opinions can't be wrong, only disagreed with, but others' opinions can be wrong if I disagree with them :-P

The point of life is to reproduce and survive as individuals and as a species.
It seems like this wouldn't really touch on the more emotional and abstract yearnings of the mind because life goes way beyond just reproducing and surviving. But such natural views of the world and life can really shape up to become someone's belief.

Essentially the book I'm writing. Consider cultural evolution - your kids could grow up to hate you or you could raise an adopted child with your values. Reproduction isn't just about DNA. Diogenes, Socrates, Napoleon, all live on culturally, even if not genetically.

Genetics followed by cultural Memetics. Where the basic unit of information is confusing and vaguely defined?

For me the point is to help as many people live a happy(ier) life as I can, including myself, without preferential prejudice towards anyone , including myself, until I'm dead.

Memetics isn't the same as what I'm talking about ora. Kate Distin's cultural or autonomous evolution came from memetics, and I think it's a lot more accurate.
