@ Brainbomb: "The other person who stands out, is jamiet, who voted, and then unvoted early on. I heard someone a few pages back maybe it even was goldy say Jamiet doesnt count... Also Jamiet has stated he is against unvoting. I'm not saying this makes him scum, but his vote was among the first 4 levied, so he is not any more innocent than anyone else. For that matter he could have voted for Putin33 if were going to claim his vote was irrelevant.
Let me address this whole think about me and the "Unvote" mechanic once and for all. I have made my position very clear in various threads yet for some reason Brainbomb (and possibly others) does not appear to grasp my point.
I think that the "Must Vote" rule is rendered useless by the ability to "Unvote", because at the start of the day, anyone who was intent on ending the day without a vote in place can simply vote for someone (even themselves, for instance) and then immediately unvote in their next post. This satisfies the rule but also renders it meaningless. It is my opinion, regarding the rules of this game, that either "Must Vote" should be removed as a rule, or else "unvoting" should not be allowed.
Now, to draw attention to the fact that I have used the unvote mechanic despite being opposed to it is to fall foul of what in UK politics is now known as the "Mensch Fallacy" - the fallacy of claiming or implying that if you are opposed to some element of a system in principle, it is hypocritical or scummy of you to use that system in practice.
Such an implication or claim against me would hold no water. Yes, I oppose the unvote mechanic. However I am not GMing this game and our GMs have decided that people may "Unvote" if they wish. It is therefore perfectly legitimate for me, as a player in this game, to use an unvote. Just because I don't like "Unvotes" as a mechanic doesn't mean I must behave as though they don't exist.
As for your final point, Putin33 was not a valid vote option. He is not one of the players in this game. If I had voted for him, it would not have counted. Voting for Putin33 would certainly not satisfy the "Must Vote" rule.
@ Captainmeme: "Jamiet's vote was at a weird time. He just had a spat of outrage over Yoyo's post, voted Yoyo, then suddenly decided that WD's argument that I was the more important lurker to lynch made a lot of sense and switched...
"Jamiet - Can you answer why this? Why did you find WD's post so convincing? And why specifically that post, and none of the ones before?"
Yes, I will answer that. To a certain extent you answered it yourself - my vote on Yoyoyozo was due to outrage at him posting "Hi" and then vanishing again despite remaining online. I realised that voting in crossness may not be the best policy and, just as I was thinking this, WardenDresden posted what he posted. I decided that there was more chance of a lurker-lynch on you, because there was no other heat on Yoyoyozo, whereas there had already been substantial discussion of your history of lurking, for instance in the last game where you were scum, and in which, if I recall correctly, you even made up fake shit about real life emergencies that you admitted to me by PM were not true.
So basically, I determined that getting you lynched for lurking was a more likely proposition than Yoyo because others were also making the case against you, so I moved over to that camp.
