I’m breaking away for a moment. I haven’t had a chance yet to read the last two pages or so. I just have a comment for Y2K:
@Y2K, if you are town, I wish you’d take a self-reflective moment, and consider your potential confirmation bias.
Your initial read on me was based on my leading questions in my critique of you, is that right?
I explained that I am trial lawyer, and my comments in all games I’ve played are littered with leading questions.
Your next read on me was based on my failure to call out who I thought was scum and take strong positions on people, correct?
I told you immediately that my reads would come, and they did. I don’t think it is mafia-indicative that someone takes their time before committing to positions in the first half of Day 1. I don’t think it was mafia-indicative that I had a null read on Demon around page 5. But even if your scumhunt involves a search for those who are not taking firm positions, I think you’re awfully misguided. I’ve been active, I’ve been pushing discussions, I’ve been taking positions in which I’m off on my own, and my posts have been well-organized and as town friendly as possible. Town friendly in that they lay out my thoughts on others, and town friendly in that they allow people to know my thoughts and read me personally without much effort.
In any event, I think the most critical information anyone can glean about my alignment in this game relates to how quickly my wagon formed. In this game, where there are five mafiosos, who are coordinating by day, that has to raise red flags for anyone taking an objective and sincere look.
Y2K, if you are town, I think you are being used. Your stubbornness in beating the Balki drum, come what may, is the perfect leaf under which the little scum caterpillars can hide. If you are town, I hope you will consider your reads, based on all information that you have learned since you first arrived there, while fully aware of the dangers of confirmation bias.
If you are scum, my hat’s off. I hope you get what’s coming to you.
