Look, if this is a goer I will participate, but there have been sudden " domestic developments" that mean I have "reclassified" my WebDip activities as being of trivial or no importance to me.
Approx 7 months ago a close friend was the victim in a "Rodney King" type of incident,
albeit without the racial elements and public rioting.
He was charged with a number of serious offences, but is defending himself vigorously.
He has excellent Legal representation, the State Police "case" against him is
collapsing for lack of evidence, and the evidence that has been produced tends to confirm his "defence" There are a number of subpoena's issued by the Court that should force the Police to hand over more evidence that they are withholding.
His Lawyers are already making plans to sue for compensation, damages and costs.
Today I put $Aus 1,000-00 into his bank a/c and will be contributing another
$Aus1,800-00 tomorow towards his Legal expenses-- not bad for an unemployed
student since jan 2012.
After today's other events I have advised my friend that I am willing to sell my Argo Investment P/L shares and could raise $Aus 6,000-00 towards the legal costs.
I was named as a witness for the defence in documents recently lodged with the Court.
I received a "visit" today.
I have been advised to "reconsider the evidence I might give to the Court".
My motor vehicle was "Defected" which means that unless specified repairs are made, the vehicle inspected, fees paid, and the Defect Notice removed, it is a criminal
offence to drive the vehicle on as public road.
I was advised that I might also be charged with several "Contempt of Court" charges
for publicly discussing a matter, or matters currently before the Courts.
Clumsy and crude attempts to intimidate are a dissapointment to me, am I being unreasonable in expecting some display of sophistication and subtlety with these
antics ?
You chaps can call me a gutless wonder and all the rest, but I now have a much more serious conflict that requires my full attention, energies and resources.
There is also a possibility that I might suddenly be arrested and even an
( estimated by me to be ) 0.00001% chance I might be shot dead.
I am also asking myself about my committment to study--- only persons who perceive themselves as having a future invest in study, and my future has suddenly become somewhat clouded.
I am unable to provide any specific information that might identify my friend, or the particular matter(s) before the Courts, but the stakes are significantly more serious that WebDip points, WTA or PPSC.
