I came one credit short of graduation as a Junior, and that was only because I dropped Bio.

However I doubt KA would be able to pull of graduation as a sophomore unless its easier in the states then it is in Canada...

@abge - I took Physics and Chemistry and a semester of geology and the first computer programming class the school ever offered. Computer Programming was considered a science course.

Stay the full time and enjoy life. There's no benefit to graduating early. If I could do it over again, I would have ditched the useless high school courses like AP Physics or Calculus BC in favor of auto shop or wood shop.

I started going to college when I was 16. Due to a boatload of AP credits, I was on track to graduate early, a few weeks after I turned 20. I took my grad school entrance tests when I was 19 and did well. Then I thought, what am I doing? What's so good about going to grad school when you're 20? I decided to stick around for another year of college and am very glad I did. If anything, perhaps I should have taken another year and traveled around the world. There's no reason to rush entering the Real World.

Well, currently, I have 20 credits. I need 22 to get a modified standard diploma and graduate at the age of fifteen. If I take AP Calculus as a summer course, I can graduate right away...
But I have no intention of doing so.

In the US, it is the 2nd year of high school also called 10th grade.

KA - it is federal law that you must stay in high school until you're 16. In some states its higher. Hence, you can't graduate.

Depends on their birthdays... if his birthday is after June, he'd be 15. Also, I think you can graduate high school prior to 16. I'm fairly certain you can at least take the GED

I know people who left for college after Sophomore year, I also know a few who left after middle school. I'm starting to regret not doing that now, they seem to have gotten better college options and financial aid.
