Sometimes I cannot use my wose wheel and keyboard on this page. Something on this page suddenly disables both. For example, I want to write an ingame message and suddenly, the letters I enter do not appear anymore and I get a sound message instead (ping. Windows Vista here).
It just happened when I was writing this message, after the first "s" of "ingame message".

I tried to disable ABP but without effect. I don't have any other plugins.

fine, i wasn't suggesting anything, but that's understandable. obviouslt they can resume killing each other if they so choose. but yeah, so far austria seems to have a good foothold in the balkans, and as A T never works out (and I mean never!) the ensuing confrontation will be fun, to see who is the better tactician of the two
ottovanbis (150 DX)

I don't know if this is a big hint or not, but ITALY: Take Tunis. for the love of pete! russia has seemed to begin a slide into cd land so now germany has virtually no pressure from the east and is free to massacre the frenchman, who will be my first predicted eliminated nation. italy why did you disband venice too (rhetorical obviously)? austria still is in the dominant spot with italy practically handing him the game by antagonizing turkey and leaving his back open with a nice large target. with russia gone and england in a decent defensive stance (though NS is open to attack for now), I see England quickly capitalizing on opportunities but we shall see

I'm gonna take over commentary from otto since I think he's left...(I am not in this game)

And the Austrian stab comes, as predicted. It will give him a reassuring boost to his units. England takes advantage of the Russian CD but must dance precariously between protecting Scandinavian and home SCs. France continues to put up a last stand, although having one useless unit so far away is hurting him. Germany makes steady progress Eastward. Turkey retreats North, it will be interesting to see the disbands.
ottovanbis (150 DX)
23 Feb 10 UTC
Turkey is slipping, but is an unfair match up, Italy has handed Austria what seems to be a huge lead early on. France continues to fumble, Enlgand gains some ground because of the lame cd in Russia. The fleet build in Trieste by A was a good idea as he will need a big enough fleet to get the 18th in tunis and possibly fight off the English if they make it that far. Germany also looks pretty strong at this point. Italy another hint for you: retreat from Turkey and defend yourself.

England builds more units to take on the lone French boat in Clyde. Interesting disband from Turkey, giving Austria a chance at yet another easy build this year. Army build for Germany signifies commitment to the Eastern advances.
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Turkey takes Sev - that should keep him around long enough. Austria takes Bul as expected, making great progress in Italy. Interesting moves by Italy - probably has given up and just trying to throw a few surprises. Germany positions himself for an assault on Warsaw in the fall. England focusses on dislodging the French unit before making any premature advances towards Iberia.

I think commentary works better as a conversation, and since the people playing can't HAVE a conversation, it would make for better commentary.
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Sure. Sorry otto I didnt notice lol! Too busy watching the moves.
ottovanbis (150 DX)
23 Feb 10 UTC
alright then ava, let us converse briefly. I like the Pax Germana in the north it seems necessary for the later stage when Austria will likely have a huge sc lead. italy is toast, so is france, turkey shall be safe for a while, warsaw is key for germany
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Exactly. However Germany needs to watch out for Austrian armies piercing through Czechoslovakia next year.
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Italy nullifies the Turkish build in Sev with a clever second guess there. Austria takes Nap, saving Rome for a later date. Germany takes Warsaw in what will be a crucial build for him. But what is this bounce in Denmark? England suddenly doesn't like Germany, and this is sure to work in Austria's benefit, just as the French blockade in Iberia will.
ottovanbis (150 DX)
23 Feb 10 UTC
agreed on the necessity of german vigilance, but it seem england has decided to shatter the peace, this may give the solo to austria
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Actually, otto, I take back what I say. I don't think we'll see much action in Boh etc very soon. Turkey must be finished off, as must Italy. I think Germany and Austria can head there seperate ways for a while yet
ottovanbis (150 DX)
23 Feb 10 UTC
Yes, the western triangle is in conflict, which will cetainly aid austria in the long run, this should be an easy solo for him. it looks like it's up to germany to defend and hope england rethinks, while positioning himself defensively
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
I wonder what the Denmark move was - was Germany trying to signal that he would like England to take Denmark?
hellalt (70 D)

hey you are not just commenting but also suggesting strategies and tactics.
I'm not sure this is a gunboat anymore...
jimgov (219 D(B))
23 Feb 10 UTC
Yeah...I think that suggesting things is a little off base.
ottovanbis (150 DX)
23 Feb 10 UTC
I disagree here, Austria has Turkey all tied up what with the stubborn Italian presence weakening the defenses by getting behing Ottoman lines. I'd say this is the perfect time for a northern offensive, Austria has no primary strong front as it is, so why not! I'd take control of the pace this year if I was playing Austria, as it seems Germany is in a tight squeeze and all is chaos in the north, Why not?
ava2790 (232 D(S))
23 Feb 10 UTC
We must also consider that soon the German armies have a chance at those Russian SCs. Perhaps the conflict will resolve itself easily, but then again there is great scope for screwing up.

Another crucial fleet build for Austria, while F KIE is an indication of conservative German intent. Italy has become a real wildcard with three units lying all over the place. Turkey disbanding in Sev will make that SC have 'target' written all over it, although F BLA is still around to protect it.

yeah, that sucks jimgov, good luck though. so much fun, unfortunately, i have to go, homework to do. Austria will win this one for sure, with Germany in a close second, barring a cd or something crazy or sly.

Germany looks to have turned the tables on England, and oh look there's a support of an Austrian unit! Looks like some good reading into Austrian moves by Germany. England takes advantage of an empty Sev, no idea whether his orginal intentions were for the move to succeed. It certainly puts him at a disadvantage as he has a lone unit on the other side from his home base. France still holding out, while England still lays off of Iberia. Italy makes an interesting move towards Spain, but alas he shall lose at least one SC to Austria this year. More shuffling goes on in Turkey.

How does cheating get investigated on this site?
I know I am new to this site (but I am certainly not new to diplomacy, either web based or otherwise) so how do I get anyone to investigate possible cheating on this particular site - if indeed any investigations into cheating do actually occur on this site.

It is just that I have an gunboat game that has an awful of very co-ordinated moves - more than you could resonably expect from a gunboat game.
