New Variant Question:
I just started a Ancient Med variant and we just finished our first year. But something seems odd about the map, it looks like it is giving people all of the territories that they occupied in Spring as well (not SC's but territories).

New Order Request for the World Map
In addition to Draw, Pause, and Cancel, can we please have a little order button that says something like Finalize your Damn Moves, This is a Gunboat Game and You Have No Reason to Not Finalize! ? I think it'd really improve the game for everyone.

Should I be concerned?
I'm in a game that's in 1903 where neither England, France, or Germany have attacked each other. All three are also in another game together. Is this cause for suspicion for Meta-Gaming? Has anyone else seen this before? Here's the link:

Star Trek 2012- Four Old Captains Want In!
Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula ALL have said they'd like a role in Trek 12. Who would you like to see- Shatner Kirk come back, Stewart's Picard come back from Nero's time to save Data/Kirk, Mulgrew's Janeway... uh... or Bakula's Archer look confused some more? ;) ("I hate Trek 11!" comments NOT welcome... have fun, folks!)

Is this cheating?
If 2 or more people know each and join a non-anon game is it considered cheating for them to work together until all the other players are destroyed and then draw the game?

Improving the World-Map

There is no need to not be optimistic about medal hopes. But really, if Canada beat the States in overall medals that would be such an embarassment. And if you are telling me jimgov that Canada spends more total on its athletes that the States, you are sadly mistaken. Either way, you are being a douchebag to the host nation.

Obiwan, US and Canada play the same style of Hockey. So I don't know where that is coming from. Its just because half your players are from up-state New York and Minnesota. Lots of crossover.

Dingle, yes, it was relevant if you were comparing which European team was better. But its hard to be a world champion if North America doesn't even compete. Thats what I meant by relevent. Thats why the summit series happened.

Wydend- "Miller is one of the best goalies in the NHL" Are you trying to be satirical here?

Geez, are you one of those people who object to Major League Baseball calling their championship 'The World Series'? Or the NCAA Football shouldn't be calling their winner the 'National Champion', but the 'National College Champion'?

DbJ- No, I was not trying to be satirical. I think Miller is one of the strongest aspects of the American team. Right now he is second in the NHL in both save percentage and goals against average. I think if he is hot, USA has a chance, because they will certainly be outplayed and will have to rely on outstanding goaltending to stay in it.

@wydend - Miller pales in comparison to Luongo, Brodeur and possibly Fleurry. He may be good, but when crunch time comes it will be the Canadian goaltenders who put up the best fight.

I think they are very comparable. Brodeur is certainly one of the best of all time, and Loungo is one of the most consistently good goalies of the past several years, but people are quick to cast aside Milller, when he has done nothing but put up strong numbers. Plus, I do not discount that Canada has great goaltending. My statement was first mostly aimed at denis who stated "unlike the US Russia has a wall of goaltending."

With regards to Fleurry, I believe that Miller is better, and the numbers show it. Granted Fluerry is a great goalie, especially to have as a third stringer!

@wydend - you are right I would actually say that Miller is definitely one of the best, and probably bests russian goaltending.

But at the end of the day we will have to see how they mind their nets during play time, that makes all the difference.

for anyone on Twitter, there is a movement to get #CRUSHTHECANUCKS trending before the game. it may be hard to beat the BAFTAs but there are many more Americans. uncle sam has never needed you more than now.

Come on, we have the largest DMZ border in the world... the US and Canada make a great, great team...

We're the David Letterman of the World, the Star that's also the target of some hate, and Canada's Paul Schaffer, the sidekick so a little less known but EVERYONE likes him, them... except during the Olympics. ;)

Jersey Shore
So I just started watching this show and I am addicted.. it is probably the worst show on tv- an absolute carcrash...
However at the same time it is the funniest and greatest show on tv..
The Situation could not even be dreamed up as a character.
What are other people's thoughts- I assume only North Americans will know what I'm talking about- but aussies don't fret it is coming MTV Australia in April
