Finished games
How do you view the game that you've just finished? In my finished game section there are hundread of games, should't that be ordered by time?

Another suggestion, can the names of the games of automaticaaly generated ordered numbers?

Names? Larry, Moe, and Curly.

I think the only form of metagaming should be relegated to the trust-factor.

Is it possible to make a higher pot? I was hoping for a minimum of like 50 pts buyin/game...

Although if not everyone has the points, I suppose that's fine.

@Akroma: Could you please read the previous posts before asking questions which may already have been answered?

@yellowpajamasson: Well, as the chance of that is 48 out of 110592, it's probably not much of a problem.

I'd be interested, but I would need to wait a couple of days until one of my current games (zerstoren) ends. It will be a 17-17 draw between me (Russia) and Turkey once France finishes feeding me her Brests.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
09 Mar 09 UTC
We're already waiting on other people, including me. But I guess I'll print the list so far: cteno4, thymin, Toby Bartels, youradhere, aoe3rules.
thymin (133 D)
10 Mar 09 UTC
So we're just waiting for 2 more right?
aoe3rules (949 D)

@cteno4: In light of your last comment, I've changed my mind. I don't want to play with you.

Just kidding.
Onar (131 D)

You forgot to add my name to the list! I wanted in from the beginning.
aoe3rules (949 D)
10 Mar 09 UTC
I think you were on the first list, but might have been overlooked between then and the second.

Wait, no, he just copied my list and added cteno4. Sorry, that was my fault.
Onar (131 D)
10 Mar 09 UTC
So, that means we only need one person, right?
Toby Bartels (361 D)
10 Mar 09 UTC
Excellent!
Onar, cteno4, thymin, Toby Bartels, youradhere, aoe3rules.

Bumbity-bump-bump!
What are these games going to be named?
youradhere (1345 D)
11 Mar 09 UTC
I think we should pretend to be deep and educated with something philosophical.

Quotes from Socrates, Locke, or the likes. Or parodies of those quotes.

And I think the metagaming issue will resolve itself, since we have a WTA pot. In the end, you won't trust anyone anyway, even if they did help you out before.
Onar (131 D)

Solid snake, Liquid snake, and solidus?
Toby Bartels (361 D)
11 Mar 09 UTC
Are those name suggestions, Onar? Are they from Socrates or Locke? (^_^)

Obviously, it makes me think of Solid, Liquid, and Gas. (And if we're going for classical names, then we don't need any of those plasmas, Bose-Einstein condensates, ice IX, and what-not.)

Or WWI, WWII, and WWIII.
Onar (131 D)

I was thinking of Metal Gear, XD

Better idea: Name them after the three wise men:
balthasar, casper, and melchior
Could we agree on that?
youradhere (1345 D)
11 Mar 09 UTC
That sounds cool. And I'll join whenever they're set up - my game is winding down, and I need more procrastination material.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
The Magi are cool. Although spellings vary, do you mind if I correct to what I believe is most common:
Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar
(that is, not Casper). Actually, I see that Firefox's spell checker wants me to use ‘Balthazar’ too, but I'm not so sure about that.
Onar (131 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
Personally, I like it better without the "z," and I prefer your spelling of Caspar, too.
So, is it agreed? We'll name the games after the magi.
Who's actually playing?
youradhere (1345 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
I believe we still need one more before we can start.
youradhere (1345 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
Where are shrimpy, pajama, and curly on this? Are any of you still interested?
Onar (131 D)

These games are going to be password-protected, right?
Toby Bartels (361 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
Although I've said that I want to wait a bit, I find that a gunboat game requires so little attention that I'll be happy to start as soon as there are 7 players.
thymin (133 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
Wise men eh?
That's fine with me, however you spell it. :P
Onar (131 D)
12 Mar 09 UTC
Wait, these games are gunboat?
thymin (133 D)
13 Mar 09 UTC
I don't think so.

I think Toby is referring to the other game he's in now, that he was going to delay his entry into these for.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
13 Mar 09 UTC
@Onar:
Yes, thymin is correct.

They never paused, even though I told them I was going out of town. None of THEM missed their build phases, and most of the people who refused to pause had room to benefit. I think this is... inappropriate.

50% up game?
I was thinking about looking for interest in a game where everyone who joins will have a win/draw rate of 50% and over. This game could be a WTA or PPSC and probably be about 100 point buy in or so) and 24 hours?.
If you are 50% and over win/draw post here (if you want to play).

I just want to say, for the benefit of new players, that eventually you will get to play those huge point games. Also, they are just as great as you would expect them to be. The competition is rough and it takes every bit of skill to win.
