To be honest, I like Russia (except when Germany decides to get aggressive), Austria-Hungary, and England a lot.
I can't stand playing Italy, though. Nowhere to go without pissing people off...
France is too easy, but I won't hold that against them, and Turkey....? *shudders*
I guess that leaves my vote as a toss-up between Turkey and Italy... Leaning more towards Italy, though.

for the record, 'french fries' are called 'french' because of the cut of the potato. Its a 'frenched' cut. Has nothing to do with the country.

Actually quite like Italy and Austria, I think they have good chances mid-game which is where the fun starts!

Italy. I hate Italy.

I dislike Russia, it is the weakest power of any of them when they reach 9 and takes about the same amount of effort to get there.

im starting to love playing as italy the only problem i have found with that country is getting units to the front lines can be a bit of a problem

Russia and Turkey are by far my least favorite, but Turkey a little more so. The juggernaut is overrated, I think - if Austria and Italy get a solid alliance early, there is NOTHING you can do as Turkey, since Russia does not offer enough support. Your only hope in that situation is France, but he rarely gets to Italy in time to take some heat off. Turkey is also just no fun at all, since really your only option for a stable alliance is Russia, and you have an extremely limited opening playbook.

I think Turkey is the worst country.

For online play, England is the worst country to play. More so than all other countries, alliances involving England tend to be unstable -- either side is tempted to stab. Such alliance requires lots of diplomacy, which may not be allowed in online play (esp. if cycle time is short, and you live in a different time zone with your target audience -- it is usually my case, as I live in GMT+8)

For the same logic, I find Turkey an exceptionally strong country in online play, as it requires relatively little diplomacy to survive. Then somehow somebody would go into CD, and long survivors like Turkey tend to benefit from it.

Italy is great, incredible defensive position, all you have to do is wheel and deal and play people off each other, like the way england was in real life

Worst is austria, totally reliant on others whims, guess its true for everyone but especially austria

Austria can play everyone off of each other just as easily as Italy can, AND it can acutually expand successfully without relying on others.

Germany. usually run into a E-F alliance then when that happens, Russia comes and hits you from behind
