Jamie, getting onesself scumread early is a very effective strategy as long as you're not lynched doing it, which I never am (unless I'm scum, apparently). It's not like I'm captainlurkstothelategamememe or something.

I also don't think snowy is advocating that we don't actively seek scum early. That would be fucking stupid. It's just an interesting thing to analyze.

Hey all. I should be good to go for this game - unless something comes up, I don't think I need to sub out on Friday any longer, so I'm here to do my usual making of ridiculous theories.

I've played with Soyel in a discord game between M29 and M30 along with ghug, with brainbomb GMing. She's very logic free and prone to emotional appeal, and while pretty transparent in her scumminess (at least to me) but she managed to fool everyone else. So if she seems genuine in her town appeal but can't give you an actual reason why, that'd be a good time to suspect her.

I don't think anyone insinuated that I'm suggesting we don't actively seek out scum early. Funny how you should bring that up though

Nope. I think I've only had one successful game total, and that was my first one :)

I didn't really get to experience Soy much because I died about three hours into the discord game. It was pretty funny when DamnDaniel shot her and then himself though.

Uclabb is very logical. If he says anything about process or PR interactions, he's almost certainly right, regardless of his role. He used to always get fearkilled early.

Flum has played a ton of mafia elsewhere. He's pretty good at reading people, and he can be pretty sneaky when he wants to be. He's always a PR.

So I just went back on M29 records where TrPrado had 30000 words, and he didn't use a smiley face even once

I consider myself not to have a scrum meta because when I'm scrummy scrum scrum it's when I have the misfortune of overestimating the amount of time I can devote to the game.

Guak fell too hard into the lurk in his later days, but he was once a pretty good player. Expect him to care little about people's arguments on others and more about their actions. He'll bus heavily as scum.
