Non-Symmetrical Phase Lengths
I looked in the issue tracker and it does not appear that I can search the forum. Has there been discussion about different phase lengths for retreats and adjustments from orders? It seems like a great way to have good order negotiations while avoiding downtime for phases that don't need the additional time. This would allow something like 3 days orders and 1 day retreat/adjustment.

Am I missing something, or do people not know how to play Diplomacy anymore?
So I'm finding a trend where some countries just don't really send press even in situations where it would really help them.

Do Minotaurs have brothels?
I was curious if Minotaurs actually built the buildings they lived in or if it was slave labor. And also would Minotaurs have brothels? It seems like yes but I get confused by who the patrons would be and what rules they would have

Diplomacy Strategy: Theatres of War
The Diplomacy game-board can be divided into six theatres of war, each of which is based on a historical front in the Great War. These theatres are the Western Front, Eastern Front, Italian Front, Middle Eastern Front, Balkan Front, and African Front. Each of them comprise various provinces on the game-board, and recognizing them can improve overall strategy . . .

Can you guys help me find a datasheet for this camera?
http://imgur.com/gallery/1K3Fg

the model number is either H498A F1G23 or F1G23 H498A. I already tried www.datasheetarchive.com but feel free to try again.
It's from a smartphone and I'm trying to repurpose it, but for that I need to know the specs.

Well, I credit you, Brad, with giving me the motivation to step back and think differently about military spending. Having done so, I researched the effect of the Bush tax cuts, so there's that...

i agree it didn't make sense to cut taxes as he began a war. i still think we should have reelected his father and prevented all of this nonsense

hey Hauta, here is some dogma that i believe in:

love your enemies and do good to them, and lend expecting nothing back; then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Hauta (1618 D(S))
18 Mar 17 UTC
That's not the dogma I'm worried about. ^gives me hope that your compassion for your fellow man may guide you to the light. It is the disregard for the economic losers that is so prevalent on the right which worries me. Keep the Bible open (for now), and turn off AM radio or whatever "news" source informs your more misguided thoughts.
fiedler (1293 D)

Alright we'll I've had enough this forum is officially dead to me.

What we have here is a bunch of unemployed losers who contribute nothing to anything. They get on the internet and then smugly tell everyone what is the truth and how everything should be.

When asked what they actually do for a living or how much tax they pay or even how much charity they do, they consider these rude inconvenient questions.

WikiLeaks is not a credible news source because although everything they publish is the truth, it's not the truth they want to hear.

Captain Brad and ND and the like generously attempt to drag these dregs into reality, and are screeched at with contempt. Even though Brad and ND are successful people, and people like onion, MM, ora are clearly not. You know, In REALITY.

I thank you for your behavior, for teaching me how to live the rest of my life, which is far to the right, just as you are teaching the whole world.
And for what? What do you get out of it?
You are a bunch of losers, with a mindset and political philosophy that guarantees only that become ever bigger losers as you get older. Enjoy.

I've tried my best to keep this forum balanced, and in some kind of non-degenerate state, but even the mods seem to want a 'safe-space' - which is nothing but a zero reality breeding ground for failure. No good can come of this.

Cheerio then. Give my regards to the family.

"news" source informs your more misguided thoughts.

i subscribe to the New York Times, is see it has led me down the wrong path. i thought it was real news
CAPT Brad (40 DX)

i also subscribe to the Los Angeles Times and WNYC public radio. they apparently warped my outlook on life. oh how will i carry on? they were supposed to be reputable forums for news; but they have let me down.

oh wise hauta, where do you turn for enlightenment? is it true that you are a founding member of britebart news?
Hauta (1618 D(S))
19 Mar 17 UTC
I already wrote my sources in another thread. NPR, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Reddit (wherever it leads), huffington, breitbart (to see other side), foxnews (to gauge how far to the right a story bleeds).

there hasn't been real news since huntley and brinkley. the transformation of news to entertainment has been on going for over twenty-five years
Hauta (1618 D(S))
19 Mar 17 UTC
You must be a dinosaur--Huntley and Brinkley! Before my time. I blame Murdoch for transforming news back into a partisan affair.
Randomizer (722 D)
19 Mar 17 UTC
Breitbart and Murdoch are just continuing the tradition of Hearst with creating the news to suit their needs. Bill Gates admired Murdoch for creating an empire with greater control of the world than Microsoft will ever achieve.

Even with the Internet making it easier to distribute fake news to the followers, there are only a few in control and the rest just copy the bias version they like.
Hauta (1618 D(S))

In God we trust. All others pay cash.
Hauta (1618 D(S))
19 Mar 17 UTC
I disagree somewhat. NPR seems to try so hard to be unbiased. Other leftist outlets less so, but even those try to be accurate in the selective news they present. I find that the right is more cavalier with their treatment of the truth, and certain outlets, including trump, disregard the truth altogether.
Hauta (1618 D(S))

God is a moral guide, not a news source.

@Hauta, by God, do you mean religious interpretations of the minds of God? Cause religious institutions are as fallible as media ones.
CAPT Brad (40 DX)
19 Mar 17 UTC
God is God. How he is understood depends on how He reveals Himself. He is unchanging.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
19 Mar 17 UTC
Its all in your head, God 'reveals' itself as a brain phenomena, but is used by religious authorities to control and enslave.

It is a meme, an idea, with great power, if you believe. Power to affect your mental health, power to affect social cohesion, and power to drive planes into building.

And unlike you, i've got a fuck load of evidence to support this view.

But i was responding to Hauta, the comment about god not being a news source reminds me that religious authorities have used the same kind of propoganda and moral policing as newspapers to influence and control.

Whether it is crappy tabloids body-shaming or slut-shaming women, or religious authorities moralising about sex outside of marriage or dress codes. It is the same mechanism of control.
