ACA Premium Reimbursement
Today I was refunded a decent amount of last year's insurance premium through my company because our insurer didn't spend enough of their income from premiums on claims. What is going on here that some people are seeing their premiums double while some insurers literally don't have enough claims. Is it just happenstance that this provider only has healthy people? A civil, informed discussion would be appreciated, if at all possible.

Every F$&@ing Game Ruined!!!!
Every f$@&ing game ruined by NMR/CD's ... and then the D Bags who get the advantage won't cancel the game! Pathetic guys! You know who you are, and you're freakin' pathetic point grubbing thieves! You can't play win a straight up fight, so you resort to playing when you've got an unfair advantage.

Can we PLEASE create an "auto-cancle" feature so this stops happening?

Extra Terrestial Influence
So I think most of the world is in agreement that the universe is so big that life almost definitely exists on other planets. That question is kind of boring though. The real question is, have aliens had contact with earth in the present or past.
The results are in, and the evidence points to a resounding yes!

A Divide
I've seen horrible reactions these past 24 hours. Some celebrate that they have a champion, thinking he will bring this country to its greatest times. Others panic, fearing the same man will erode their rights and encourage persecution which will endanger their lives. Those whose views don't fall into that binary shirk away, fearing their voice is no longer welcome. This thread is about the lofty goal of uniting a further dividing nation.

Condescension (10 D)
10 Nov 16 UTC
People are marching in the streets because, overnight, their government has been taken over by an ideology that is entirely foreign to them. That nobody they know supports or can condone. Trump's unpopularity in these urban areas is absurd, and they have the right to protest him. Just as conservatives had the right to protest Obama.

A democracy with too many disparate political groups that cannot compromise is not a democracy. It is the alternating tyranny of 50% of the population against the other 50%. It is no surprise that the Californian secession movement is gaining steam, and I wish them good luck. They should leave the union for the same reason Britain left the EU - they do not want to be governed by foreigners.

Did I miss something? Did Trump ever threaten to harm anyone? Or did he simply promise to try to clean up the ILLEGAL immigration issue? In my mind, that means the only who should be worried they will be effected are the ones here ILLEGALLY! As far as Muslims, he has taken a very common sense approach. If the majority of radical Islamists come from one region, limit those coming in from that region. It plays along with the indignity of "profiling". OK, how many 90 year old white women have been guilty of terrorist attacks? Ummm, none.. Yet they are supposed to be just as scrutinized as the 25 year old male coming from Syria (or our so called ally in Saudi)? Come one, really? So it sounds terrible to say you question someone because of certain attributes, guess what, if they have nothing to hide, no harm, no foul. If it means three, ten, or fifty people are saved because that terrorist was found as they attempted to enter the country, awesome! It could be your son or daughter that was saved. Again, common sense over political correctness. The ones doing most of the protesting are the young punks who have grown up under Obama's reign of entitlement. You are ENTITLED to have all you want. No, you don't need to work for it, it should be given to you. Oh, someone tells you no, go burn their city to the ground and claim to be a victim. What is that kind of "protesting" accomplishing besides getting the silent majority ready to tell them to sit down and shut up? Notice they are not doing the protesting in parts of the country where we don't put up with that crap? It is in the liberal strongholds where they feel safe to show out their immaturity. To be honest, I have been unhappy with both parties the last two decades. I am more independent, leaning toward libertarian. But I am a loyal patriot who served my country from behind the Berlin Wall, as a real leader bombed a terrorist Libyan leader in his home and forced the USSR to disintegrate, and we pushed Saddam out of Kuwait. I will not put up with people denigrating the country and disrespecting the military or police. On issues, I can be open minded and have civil conversations. But I will call you stupid when you act stupid. The key was to keep that corrupt hose beast Hillary out of the White House. The DOJ, IRS, FBI and other agencies that are supposed to be non-partisan have become rotten to the core.
Putting her in place would have just encouraged them to get worse. My hope is that Trump will act like the outsider he is, that cannot be bought and owes nobody any favors, and clean the crap out. If he can do one thing, it is my prayer he can get term limits for congress passed. That itself will go a long way toward fixing what is broken. So I want Obamacare repealed? My wallet sure does every time my insurance rates go up. Do I want ILLEGAL immigration (thank God for all the legal immigrants who have built this country into what it is) dealt with? Yes, it is wrong to break the law, and they have no interest in assimilating as immigrants have done for centuries here. On the other side of the aisle.. Do I care about legalizing marijuana? I don't see it as any more dangerous than alcohol. But if it is still illegal, don't do it. Public education can be a good thing, if they are left to the state to run. States should exert their constitutional rights and remind the federal government that it was only given certain areas of authority, everything else was supposed to go to the States. Elderly and our veterans should be top priority for care, not forgotten. I will pay an extra percent in taxes for that. But those taxes should be a flat tax. No loopholes, no difference in percentage. All pay the same. Does all that sound like a fanatic? Yet I am called a Fascist on this site because I am not a progressive liberal.

@Demon - whom I recall recently was our resident racist....
"If you don't agree with krellin you're automatically a libtard with tunnel vision. Duh"

No...I told someone who said that he and his coddled, emotionally imatture liberals for "fear for their lives" are extremist. And if you are truly too stupid to figure out why that is extremist....more to the point, if you are one of the hyperbolic fools that is ALSO spewing this nonsense -- which is simply a cry-baby temper-tantrum, not true fear -- well then I wouldn't expect you to understand why those in America on ALL sides of po;litics look at poeple like you and shake their head in wonder that we could have such a bunch of ignorant people running around.

but again...you don't actually fear....you are just BULLIES...and yo uactually think that if you scream and yell and stamp your feet enough something will change -- because, most likely, your parents never bent you over their fucking knee and spanked your ass when you were disobedient, and you have been raised to believe you should have everything you want simply because you want it...wahhhhh....

America is tired of you. That's why Trump is President Elect.
TrPrado (461 D)
10 Nov 16 UTC
Again, this is not about Trump himself. This is not about policies he wants to pursue. This is about a sect of his supporters that make people fear for their lives. This group feels vindicated to go out and commit hate crimes against women and minorities, and I hope you can stand by the victims and those in fear as a fellow American.
krellin (80 DX)
10 Nov 16 UTC
@TrPRadoi "Go out and find the other side, krellin. Minorities are afraid and in need of comfort of the vast number of Trump supporters who don't hate them to acknowledge their fear and tell them they'll stand by them."

Do yo uactually believe this shit? You think American's now need to run to the cities and give minorities a big hug because the Liberals in this country have falsely manufactured a bunch of hysterical fear?

Why? Are people too stupid to realize that there is no AND NEVER HAS BEEN any threat made against them by ANYONE in any campaign?

Nobody is afraid....but people are pretending to be afraid because they *think* it gives them power...and more to the point they *think* it gives them a legitiamte excuse to riot and throw their temper tamtrums....becuase that is how woosified "I deserve evefrything because I feel it is so" America works these days.

You dont' get what you want - so you scream and cry, you say you are "offended" and "hurt'....and now we've lumped in "I'm *scared*...." ohhhh...because being scared is REALLY powerful, right? And now what??? We are supposed to overtrurn the result of a legimiate election because FEAR_mongers are spreading lies and hatred? lol LAUGHABLE
krellin (80 DX)

"his is about a sect of his supporters that make people fear for their lives."

IDIOTIC

You know what...there are violent people ON THE LEFT as well. Hell, we have DOCUMENT PROOF of this. and more to the point, the sconsitituents of the left seem to do a *really good bang up job* of....planning and executing riots....planning and EXECUTING AUTHORITY FIGURES...that's right -- the POLICE -- Governemnt officials -- have been targetted for execution by contituents of the political left.

WHO in this country is supposed to be afraid? The minorities???? lol No....because if the political left is capable of rallying people to execute government officials....then frankly it is the people on the political right that need to be afraid, if anyone, because *clearly* the political left has turned in a violent idiology willing to kill innocent people if they don't get what they want.

TrPrado (461 D)

If you ignore and condescend the fear now, in 4 years you'll be facing a candidate you hate but can't stop, because they rise up against those who ignored them, just like the liberals condescended you. Don't be blind. Help your fellow American through their pains.

The Republican party consists probably about 99% of normal politicians, but why the hell did you choose one of the very worst persons possible to be your candidate and now president-elect? A fascist lier that easily could fool 25% of the people, the less educated and weak minded, to vote for him.

This guy we would best be described as a person with far right, rasist and fascist views, putting him into the same category as General Franco and Mussolini. We should not promote any unity under Trump. He must be opposed. Soon Trump probably will be using the old infamous slogan "one people, one nation, one leader" (the original version was in German "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuehrer")

You mean the hate crimes when liberal groups riot and burn down businesses? You mean the hate crime of the nightly violence and shooting in certain communities - like Chicago?

@Ben Raines - Maybe you missed the times that Trump threaten various people that disagreed with him. He has a past history of going after people, maybe not physically because he's 70.

As to not profiling people as terrorist threats, maybe you are too young to remember a Palestinian terrorist planting a bomb in his Irish girl friend's luggage before her British Airways flight. Or TSA finding that a baby's stuffed toy had been tampered with before a flight and something had been placed inside as a possible test to get around our shoddy security. Profiling people by origin isn't reliable.

Timothy McVeigh was 100% American and he blew up Oklahoma in the worst domestic terrorist incident until 9/11.

Refugees and Asylum seekers
So i had a thought, under international law, those seeking asylum are entitled to protection if they have reason to fear for their life. Thus pretty much anyone fleeing the Syrian war should probably automatically be granted asylum.

What about LGBT folk from the US, fearing political repression and violence in the streets. Should we (europeans) open our borders?
