Finally these lucky sneaks are going down.

Carolina is literally plastering Seattle to the wall this game. It was 31-0 at one point.

Introducing Family Members to Diplomacy
Hello, Diplomats. BlackJackP74 here again. I have a family that I think would enjoy this wonderful game that we enjoy. We number 4, including me. I have in mind the South American map from VDip. The only question is: how do I introduce them to the game without them losing interest?

[Update] Help me build a cheap PC for my media centre
So, I finally made a decision and purchased a slightly used Intel NUC. It has a 1.8 GHz i3 processor, 128GB SSD and 3GB RAM. It's a cute little box that hides nicely in the living room. I just watched an HD movie (Sicario) and the computer had no issue transcoding it. The fan wasn't audible over the speakers and I'm thinking it's a pretty good solution for anyone going that route.

Do we have a facebook page? I found one that looks like it hasn't been touched since 2012. Then I see a bunch called Webdip that look like they are locked.

Sanders vs Trump

Can Sanders take Trump's supporters?

Sanders is fringe according to the media and the establishment. So was Trump.

Sanders is no socialist, in Germany he'd be a social Democrat at most...
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
@GOD: Correct. One of my avowed Socialist friends is unhappy that Sanders has taken on the mantle of "democratic socialist" as opposed to "social democrat." There are non-trivial differences between the terms. Sanders tried to create some clarity with his speech, but the way he uses the terms is non-standard.

I didn't say he wouldn't beat a GOP candidate (he might). I am just saying it wouldn't be a landslide.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
I predict Sanders would defeat Trump by at least as how much FDR defeated Hoover.
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
OK. Fair enough. I agree with you there.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
Trump bigotry won't fly in the general election, it just works in the Republican primary process.
TrPrado (461 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
But less than by how much FDR defeated Landon.
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
@y2k: Our modern politics has proven that's not possible. Obama should have crushed McCain by that margin in 2008 as the Great Recession was clobbering our economy. Didn't happen.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
right, because the Fear Machine remained intact for McCain and Romney, Trump throws it all out of whack
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
Trump defies the principles and status quo of modern politics
GOD (389 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
And the status quo is "FUBAR", yes :D
GOD (389 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
Oh I misread that...thought you wrote "defines", not "defies". Because the first one makes more sense IMO.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
well he exposes the principles and status quo while defying them. Trump's candidacy by definition is against the status quo of conservative GOP politics.
Jeff Kuta (2066 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
I was ninja'd above.

Sanders won't defeat Trump by a landslide unless Trump splits the conservative vote with a more mainstream Republican.

In that respect I agree with ND. Sanders is fringe-y enough not to deliver the landslide, but can deliver a solid general election win including 50%+ popular vote.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
You all overestimate the loyalty of Trump supporters to Trump. That loyalty is primarily influenced by comparison with the rest of the GOP. It will be tested greatly against Sanders. Again, I'm very worried that it won't be tested against Hillary.
GOD (389 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
Why worried? Hillary is corrupt, Sanders maybe too, but less...Hillary has been part of the system for too long, especially if you count in her husband.
trip (696 D(B))
28 Dec 15 UTC
I don't see Trump supporters ever being ok with Sanders' stance on the military.
GOD (389 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
Well some people that might be very low priority...
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
Show me an example of Sanders corruption. We can talk about the DNC voter info crap if you want, but that's not Sanders corruption.
GOD (389 D)
28 Dec 15 UTC
I just said maybe ;)
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Dec 15 UTC
I'm worried because I fear that Hillary's corruption is loathed by many Democratic Sanders supporters, and I'm afraid that might cost her an election against Trump.

Mod Team Announcement
After many years of fantastic service to this site and its community, TheMinisterOfWar has stepped down as a moderator. I'd like to thank him for all the hard work he's put in both on the moderation side, and on the driving this site forward. His work in the background has helped make this site a better place for everyone, and I look forward to hopefully being able to go to the Netherlands and meet him again at one of the Dutch FTF tournaments this year.

Cheers, TM.
