I disagree with locking YJ's thread. I also do not agree that this was Kestas' ruling at all. I do not see YJ's thread as being sexually explicit.

As goldfinger said, we are in the process of working out a coherent forum policy, and we do not have consensus yet, so there's bound to be a bit of disagreement at this point.

That doesn't give him an excuse to lock innocent threads without a reason.

I filed an email. I think the peanut gallery has every business chiming in. After all, we contribute the money to the site and without us, there would be no community to mod or even bother having a site. Even when soemthing is free, the consumer of the free product is the single most important element in that exchange. A product (in this case the site and the forum) is only worth what the consumer perceives it to be worth. Recent mod action has dropped the perceived value of the forum significantly.

This seems like the right moment to ask if Sandgoose can be unbanned.

Silencing peopl ewithout investigating... Locking threads from very loose interpretations of Kestas' rules even after other mods *ujnlocked* them... These are not caused byt he community. These are caused by mods not caring about the community anymore.

That's nonsense, Draugnar. There have been a couple of issues recently with one or two mods appearing to disagree on locking/silencing policy, but I'm sure that can be addressed. In the meantime, there's simply no need to take such a confrontational tone. The mods are unpaid volunteers as you know. If they didn't care about the WebDip community why on earth would they give up their time in the first place?

Nothing in my experience here would have suggested to me that this topic was out of line. Though letter of the law I of course did "go around a lock," it seemed pretty clear to me that the thread was locked because of the poster, not because of the content.

I didn't consider yj's thread to be a rule-breaking reposting of a locked thread since he clearly explained that he was only reporting it because he was interested in the topic (a little gay, sure, considering the topic, but there's no rule about that). If the first thread was locked because the poster was another of the duchebag high school kids, that's understandable, but the explanation in the opening post by yj explained that he was just really interested in anal sex in to relieve an itch. I think that's a fair explanation

As far as bothering Kestas with this bullshit, I think that Draug must be the biggest pain in the add to the mods and to Kestas. Stop framing your whining as some kind of justified legal argument! For chrissakes just leave the poor guy alone! Appealing to Kestas should be the last line of defence if you've been treated unfairly in an action resulting in a silencing, point dock or a ban.
