ACA Premium Reimbursement
Today I was refunded a decent amount of last year's insurance premium through my company because our insurer didn't spend enough of their income from premiums on claims. What is going on here that some people are seeing their premiums double while some insurers literally don't have enough claims. Is it just happenstance that this provider only has healthy people? A civil, informed discussion would be appreciated, if at all possible.

Since there's so much rage about the American political situation, I thought I'd change it up a bit. Who do you think the next Australian PM will be?

Every F$&@ing Game Ruined!!!!
Every f$@&ing game ruined by NMR/CD's ... and then the D Bags who get the advantage won't cancel the game! Pathetic guys! You know who you are, and you're freakin' pathetic point grubbing thieves! You can't play win a straight up fight, so you resort to playing when you've got an unfair advantage.

Can we PLEASE create an "auto-cancle" feature so this stops happening?

Yep, I'm still kinda surprised that the game didn't end up at 2-1 LYLO with HR (infected), Vecna (uninfected) and Chaqa (uninfected). Chaqa's choice on HR or Vecna would have given the game to either Town or Scum. BIO DID NOT HAVE TO WIN. This was a totally possible scenario. One that went out the window when scum decided to willingly infect town.
peterlund (1310 D(G))

Best thing for scum last night, would in my mind have been if Vecna had RBd Goldfinger and NKd Chaqa, after in some mysterious way have figured out that Chaqa was uninfected town and Goldfinger was the bio. Maybe he would then had a slim chance to get town to lynch Goldfinger next day and win the game for us in the end. But that was just a "slim" chance... :/
DemonRHK (100 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
In the scenario as it was Day 7:

A no lynch was best for town, worst for mafia, and didn't affect gold.

Town needed Vecna to kill gold and gold to NOT infect Chaqa, then lynch Vecna.
Maf needed to see gold lynched, then NK Chaqa, then mislynch day 8.

If the bio dies, the infection CAN STILL SPREAD. HOWEVER, in the game as it unfolded, the only way it could have spread is Vecna to contact via visits.
peterlund (1310 D(G))
07 Nov 16 UTC
Scum would need to stop using scum actions after that too since they would infect. Only relying in infection and lynch killings.
Oh no...we would have thrown in that case. He would have to then hope HR was lynched over him and even then town would still be kingmaker.
Like Ya'll fucked up by killing none of the bio candidates for several nights. It was easy to see it was chaqa or gold even when I was barely paying attention.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
Theoretically, if all the town were infected, I'm not sure what the situation is with game throwing. Seems like it's just a Kingmaker situation.

Really vash. Is that what you think the problem is? The games have too many pages to read for your wittle eyes? My spam organizes town most often.

I seem to recall saving yer ass in M21 at EOD.
Chaqa - if you had died and I was RB'd, I had planned on coming out, stating that town was in auto-loss, and asking for town to throw it to me over Vecna. I was fairly confident I would win that.
Hellenic Riot (1626 D(G))

I'd have voted you, goldie, so I doubt it. :P
I was counting on guak and darg voting for me, HR :p
But, if I can give my thoughts.

This was not a balanced setup. It was incredibly stacked against the bio. The fact that the Arsonist could just come out and claim and never have to worry about a NK was ridiculous. I spent most of the time on D3 wondering when it was I should suicide into meme - at what point does the infection spread far enough for it to be safe for me to do that. Because that was the only way for me to win - to eventually kill myself infecting meme. I was preparing for a D4 lynch meme argument before he died, but it was going to be a shitty one.

I think you guys are seriously underestimating how hard this was for bio. I had two chances per night where I could die. I had two roles that directly countered mine (Doc gets a Vaccine AND a save???), so I *needed* to infect power roles, or people who would be visited by them. Anything else was a waste. I couldn't infect people who I'd imagine dying within the next day. AND, if mafia reached a plurality before my infection was complete, it was gg.

Like, you guys don't understand how incredibly lucky I was to win it. 1) Glen was a NK target. I never would've predicted that. I tried damn hard to convince someone to visit HR on N1, and was ecstatic when I realized someone had. 2) The inventor gave Ezio a gun, and then in turn infected Janitor. 3) Both the doc and the arsonist were taken out in one go.

But EVEN THEN, I 1) had no idea who was infected. I legitimately believed Vecna's claim for a few days, so my whole idea on who was really infected was really convoluted. 2) I repeatedly infected people who were already infected, and had no idea whom actually was. In that respect, yes, it was nice for mafia to spread the infection, but I had to guess against their infect and their NK. The fake-claims also had me incredibly confused, because I knew mafia were infecting people and still didn't have a clear picture on who was infected, even while knowing the total number. 3) I still almost lost multiple times - once on D4 - I believe if rdrivera was lynched, mafia would've won the game within the next day and again this last day. It was conceivable for each team to win up until the last day. If mafia NK'd me, town could win by lynch. If mafia NK'd Chaqa and RB'd me, either one of us could win. That's really balanced, guys. At least for town and mafia.

Also, don't blame each other so much. Chaqa and Vash had pretty good games. I wouldn't say Vecna's game was bad either - he had me fooled. However, I think I steered a bit of the conversation and had the trust of town in D3-D5. Mafia were winning too hard, too fast, so I decided I had to sacrifice an infected to slow them down - but even then was tormented over whether or not I made the right choice (Every time I lynched infected scum, actually, I thought I had made a terrible decision). But by D4 I figured the only way I could win was to force scum to kill town to keep ahead of the constant lynchings, and to keep town lynching scum every day. So while I don't want to take complete credit for the cold war, I believe I was a significant cause.

Demon, hats off to you. It was certainly the most challenging game I've ever played. And despite the wild swings in my favor, I still almost lost it all. Minor tweaks is all this setup needs. Probably just to the Arsonist and to the Stalker.
Also, bb. I think this makes my record better than yours :p
guak (3381 D)

@goldfinger: pretty sure arsonist claiming is actually good for bio. Randomly hitting arsonist when infecting is probably the easiest way for bio to die.
This is also true. A double-edged sword though, since it means 1) I don't run into him (yay!) but also 2) He will never be NK'd (boo!)

Oh, and as a minor point to what I saw earlier

1) The infection could most certainly spread after I died. HR is wrong on that.
2) Whoever said they should use Call GM's to influence discussion is right. I already knew the answer to every Call that I did.

Goldy you are worlds apart better at mafia than I am. I could never do what you did my own reputation hinders me to survive 3 days in a game let alone to endgame lol
guak (3381 D)
08 Nov 16 UTC
ok an incompetent Maniac. The point is that even with claiming he could be NKd. I think this setup is actually unbalanced in favor of the bio, because there are so many visiting roles that can spread infection. The correct way to play PRs was probably to avoid visits as much as possible, which was very unlikely to happen

I'm hella late, but a well-deserved congrats to Gold. Thanks to everyone for being a part of this game.

One thing: before this game, honestly I remembered Chaqa as the guy who would lurk, drop random votes everywhere, and generally be a lazy fuck. But I was quite impressed by his performance here, I have to admit. He pushed his case, made great logical deductions, and with different teammates or a slightly different scenario, he might have won it all for town. Well played, Chaqa.

Extra Terrestial Influence
So I think most of the world is in agreement that the universe is so big that life almost definitely exists on other planets. That question is kind of boring though. The real question is, have aliens had contact with earth in the present or past.
The results are in, and the evidence points to a resounding yes!

Why is there such an epidemic of cheating? I've had several games be paused and irreparably damaged by cheating investigations. Can anyone explain why people are so invested in winning that they won't abide by the rules?

Recent appointments to high office have created controversy among progressive, intelligent people. I'm talking about two things, of course. First of all, the election of Donald Trumpf as Leader Of The Free World (TM). Secondly, and no less controversially, the selection of a new Moderator who was not Maniac.

A Divide
I've seen horrible reactions these past 24 hours. Some celebrate that they have a champion, thinking he will bring this country to its greatest times. Others panic, fearing the same man will erode their rights and encourage persecution which will endanger their lives. Those whose views don't fall into that binary shirk away, fearing their voice is no longer welcome. This thread is about the lofty goal of uniting a further dividing nation.

Refugees and Asylum seekers
So i had a thought, under international law, those seeking asylum are entitled to protection if they have reason to fear for their life. Thus pretty much anyone fleeing the Syrian war should probably automatically be granted asylum.

What about LGBT folk from the US, fearing political repression and violence in the streets. Should we (europeans) open our borders?
