ACA Premium Reimbursement
Today I was refunded a decent amount of last year's insurance premium through my company because our insurer didn't spend enough of their income from premiums on claims. What is going on here that some people are seeing their premiums double while some insurers literally don't have enough claims. Is it just happenstance that this provider only has healthy people? A civil, informed discussion would be appreciated, if at all possible.

Let's change the subject
Since there's so much rage about the American political situation, I thought I'd change it up a bit. Who do you think the next Australian PM will be?

Every F$&@ing Game Ruined!!!!
Every f$@&ing game ruined by NMR/CD's ... and then the D Bags who get the advantage won't cancel the game! Pathetic guys! You know who you are, and you're freakin' pathetic point grubbing thieves! You can't play win a straight up fight, so you resort to playing when you've got an unfair advantage.

Can we PLEASE create an "auto-cancle" feature so this stops happening?

lol you guys infected literally every town you could while also killing anyone who wasn't the bio. Game throw king

I actually thought Vecna's strategy was solid and used the in game mechanics effectively to his advantage. So I disagree with vash, mafia used mechanics.
brainbomb (290 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
That said vecna claiming didnt help him
Was unecessary. I think if there is a legitimate gripe its that guak and HR from the beginning lost town the game.

No Vecna you're actually just bad at this. Sorry.
Vecna. Stop being so incredulous you knew town was trying to make you kill the bio cause you would know how big a threat it was. Also it was the mafia's fault for spreading the infection
Kakarroto (128 D)

@teacon & brainbomb sounds cool and fun, I'll try to get a seat in the next game then. (But I don't know how well I will perform, hope no one will physically hurt me for it ... blaming is ok though xD)

from what I've read it should start on November 21st, so I need to have a look for the registration thread ... how many days before the start can you usually enrol for the game?
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
@ Chaqa: Destroy someone? You helped to destroy me when I was your innocent town team-mate, you mocked me and bitched in my face in the process, and it turns out I read the Bio from the start.

You're mad? How do you think I felt when you and Forces lynched me FOR BEING ABLE TO READ?

Some points I've been thinking on:

- gold failed to add new infects 4 days in a row, and there was never more than 5 infected at once.

- yoyo managed to get the bug on the only pr that doesn't get pm's

- xorx managed to scan the bio day 1

- the jammer role was a complete failure. It was designed to be a intentionally double-edged blade to stop the town from talking, to make up for the fact that the stalker was so much more powerful than the invest

Everything else seemed pretty smooth in my opinion. I'd love to hear what was good and bad about the setup.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
There was no way to counter the Bio if certain PRs died. That was a negative.

Also the fact that goldie received several PMs that weren't specified.
brainbomb (290 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
Setup was good. We should retweak with army veteran instead of bodyguard. And play this again sometime. Also change arsonist wincon
brainbomb (290 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
Then town has a role that kills if hes night targeted. Forcing bio, maf, arsonist to find veteran
brainbomb (290 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
I dont like that arsonist can claim. And sit back in a recliner all game. Meme was alright he wasnt anti town really. Just got overwhelmed by the rate of infection.
Kakarroto (128 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
the thing that meme screwed over was the bodyguard kill, more or less just a 'lucky' coincidence. If that hadn't happened, then the bio would've phased much greater odds. Thinking of it, it's the only way that he get killed after outing, who else would want him dead as long as the bioterrorist is still alive? (if no one will kill him 'just cause', like a vigilante or so ... maybe if the inventor had given the bioterrorist the gun ... )
brainbomb (290 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
Man I would love to play a gunsmith/inventor/cop for once.

Chaqa: "There was no way to counter the Bio if certain PRs died. That was a negative."

And yet we almost had victory anyway. I don't think that's a negative. Setup was great!
Vecna (890 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
@Chaqa the idea with most of the early the infections was actually to threaten town into helping out against the bio, while doing minimal dmg. Our estimation was that the bio would likely infect Guak as well.

And yeah, scum literally was not certain who the bio was for sure, right untill the end. After a while the choice literally became "if we dont do this, we cannot win anymore"

Chaqa, you probably didnt notice - but we thought you were bio and were sending you coded msg's that we were keeping you alive on purpose in exchange for votnig with us. Remember how peter said something along the lines of:

"Huh chaqa, still alive? Scum must really appreciate your presence". At times I thought you were on board, but you kept flipping back and forth whether i was scum or inventor. That coupled with your fake-claiming infection (which really was detrimental to the bio hunt) and certain other statements that you made.....

For all those people stubbornly stating "we wanted mafia to kill the bio....". Yeah thats wonderfull, except there was a pool of 5 people at one point that could be bio and town did nothing to help narrow it down.

Vecna (890 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
Also, Ghug - kisses and hugs buddy, you seem more frustrated by the outcome than I am somehow.
Vecna (890 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
At any rate, I had a lot of fun actually using my mspaints to craft this dodgy fake-claim that people were still rather happy to believe for as long as it lasted.

Regardless of all the hate, I think mafia played this game pretty well, and I liked working with my teammates. Wish I couldve pulled out a win in the end, but oh well.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
We asked mafia plenty early on to help us find the bio, when teacon was alive. He kept pointing us towards obvious townies, and mafia continued to kill obvious townies, so we came to the conclusion that mafia DIDN'T WANT to kill the bio. I think I said this and several others agree, such as Vash or Flood.

Goldie was the most obvious bio choice and you guys knew this based on dargo being the only infection on the night goldie was roleblocked. I said as much.
teacon7 (306 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
@jamie - I thought you played pretty well, and all told I was townreading you pretty hard. (I mean, I was scum so I knew you were not-maf, but I would have been TRing if I were town). Lynching you was a mistake, and even if I can see why a panicky town chose to make too much of the "slip," town got what they deserved for it.

@RHK
- Keep the jammer - I'd actually like to see it used :)
- Swap out bodyguard for something else. Veteran maybe? Or give the bodyguard a vest to start with, so he gets two saves?
- I really liked the "factions" mechanic - where invest/stalker could get scan results and still have to puzzle over what it meant.
- What if there was some role that could scan-for-infection status?
- The arsonist did seem a bit... it wasn't as much work as the bio. Give him some reason not to claim.
teacon7 (306 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
@chaqa - I started out each scum-confirmed day voting for gold. It was more of a hunch than an actual case, but I was pretty sure bio was one of the two of you. I didn't really want to participate too much more, since I was afraid of scumslipping anything that would screw up vecna's claim. But... I did want to lynch gold.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
Also about the Jamie situation... maybe it wasn't foolproof, but it really did seem out of character for him to assume something without ever confirming with the GM. He's done so many pointless/frivolous GM calls in the past over such minor details that assuming something like that so quickly and so brazenly seemed very off to many of us that had played with him before. Totally a meta-read, but I think one that if I were in the same situation I would make again because it was that far off for him.

Most obvious for you Chaqa because you have point of view. From my point of view, it really was a 50/50.

Either way, we had some nice dogfights over my claim.
Vecna (890 D)
07 Nov 16 UTC
I still wonder what wouldve happened if Teacon didnt show up 2 mins before EOD when he got lynched......When I finally convinced the town to lynch in the bio pool
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
07 Nov 16 UTC
Town was initially onboard with lynching the bio. It was the mafia's awful awful options and the night kills that made us not want to. Also the fact so many mafia were alive.

Extra Terrestial Influence
So I think most of the world is in agreement that the universe is so big that life almost definitely exists on other planets. That question is kind of boring though. The real question is, have aliens had contact with earth in the present or past.
The results are in, and the evidence points to a resounding yes!

Why is there such an epidemic of cheating? I've had several games be paused and irreparably damaged by cheating investigations. Can anyone explain why people are so invested in winning that they won't abide by the rules?

Maniac 2020
Recent appointments to high office have created controversy among progressive, intelligent people. I'm talking about two things, of course. First of all, the election of Donald Trumpf as Leader Of The Free World (TM). Secondly, and no less controversially, the selection of a new Moderator who was not Maniac.

A Divide
I've seen horrible reactions these past 24 hours. Some celebrate that they have a champion, thinking he will bring this country to its greatest times. Others panic, fearing the same man will erode their rights and encourage persecution which will endanger their lives. Those whose views don't fall into that binary shirk away, fearing their voice is no longer welcome. This thread is about the lofty goal of uniting a further dividing nation.

Refugees and Asylum seekers
So i had a thought, under international law, those seeking asylum are entitled to protection if they have reason to fear for their life. Thus pretty much anyone fleeing the Syrian war should probably automatically be granted asylum.

What about LGBT folk from the US, fearing political repression and violence in the streets. Should we (europeans) open our borders?
