Game Variant: Declaration of war
I wanted to check the opinions (and maybe gather people interested) to try out something. Haven't check if such variants are already out there and have been tested - would appreciate all feedback.

What ever happened with Hicham and Tux (12966 and 12967)?
There was a post earlier today that is completely gone about their suspicious consecutive numbers and they nearly every game one is in, so is the other. That post is no where to be found although older ones that haven't had new messages since then are. So what happened?

phpDip Mobile?
Anyone have trouble accessing this from a phone? I'm using a Blackberry Storm 9530 and whenever I view a game board my chat just appears as a long list instead of having its own window with its own scroll-bar. It will go behind the map, so if I haven't talked with the person much their message gets hidden. Then it will continue down, overlapping with order information, etc. as far down as it has to.

Anyone else had anything like this? More importantly, anyone know the fix?

What are the countries you always draw? Is there a country you never draw?
I always play Germany or France. Russia only once.

Wasn't it the Italians? Regardless, the point still stands.

That aside....
England: I said, if there is a majority who desires a draw. That would imply myself, Russia, France, and Austria, in theory. But really, England. The right peace is clearly one in which you and you alone stand over the ashes of the homes of every other player on this board.

Germany: I'd have expected as much....

yeah, it was me. The game is far more interesting if people are willing to take a risk every now and then. So, I kind of appreciate England's move to MAO for that reason.

Also, I really, really, really wish I could talk to even one of you guys in private. Man, public press is frustrating.

So um, Italy, since the Juggernaught has effectively declared war on you I wish you good luck.

Fortunately you have a good defensive position. And if you ever get to spare a unit Germany and I can probably cede you some of France should we be forced to fight him.

Forced to fight me? excuse me?
Who is the belligerent here?
Who invaded MY territory?
Forced? you sir need to relearn the English Language so that you can use it more effectively, because otherwise i will have to construe that as a lie.

Hey, Chalks.
1) Contrary to what England lied, I am not meaning to attack you. There'd be a fleet in Smyrna if that was the case.
2) SPAO is France.
3) I'm going to be occupying Serbia, Albania, and Greece, with a fleet in Aegean and a fleet in Syria. Sound good?
S.P.A.O. (655 D)

yes, i know. I happen to be France, coincidentally.

I didn't realize... I got you and Shah mixed up by accident, SPAO.

Panda (I've wanted to call you panda for awhile now)...
First, how are you going to get a fleet to Syria? Did you mean Smyrna? As for your proposed moves, I'm not sure I'm fine with them. I just want to say that It's quickly coming down to you attacking either Russia or me... because you have no where else to go. I kind of feel that you having two units bordering Trieste is very close to threatening war against me.

So, while I'm not trying to say "I hate you, Shah, go die"... I do want to maximize my chances of having an ally instead of an enemy and Pandarsenic seems to be more communicative.

As usual though, I'm always open to any and all negotiation.

[A] first off italy,

panda is my nickname for him

And am I still up for a German invasion shah?
Pandarsenic (1485 D)

Everyone calls me Panda. XD

Pizza: To Syria through Smyrna. Close enough to react, not close enough to act. As for Trieste, I'd rather not see YOU with two units bordering Serbia or Greece. You've demonstrated a great deal more aggressive initiative than, ah, anyone but Germany really. With Germany, you've only shown a little more.

I notice Spaghetti is still conspicuously present in the Ionian Sea.
Chalks (488 D)

I'm not actually threatening any of your SCs, but you are threatening mine... I can't effectively take Greece, and Albania isn't important enough for me to take. I needed to have a defense for Tunis in case England had been telling the truth and was planning to move to west med. So, I think my move to Ionian was reasonable. Until you stop moving towards me, I'm going to make sure I can defend what I have (even if that means not having as good an offensive position).

And yes, I have been more aggressive (until now), but I don't want a draw. I want people to actually attack others, and even if that means I lose... the war is much, much more interesting than the draw.

Also, nice job repelling the first wave of invasion, SPAO.

i expect my support to be cut, so either I must be the faction supported in or everybody else has to work together to get someone else, say Austria, through.
Trouble is, I don't think that everyone can agree (Italy, i'm looking at you here) to support Austria, so, we must come to a consensus. I'm fine either way.
Pandarsenic (1485 D)
06 Feb 09 UTC
[Turks] I would suggest we all support Austria in. Italy, this would... please me greatly.

Also, he has only one unit - he can hardly stab us, right?

Lots of small-pot WTA games
I'm setting up a bunch of small-pot WTA games, with various point-levels and timescales. Anyone wanting to play WTA is invited to join some. If too many take off, then I'll CD out of a few; I can't really cope with more than five turn finishes per day.

What are your favorite and least favorite countries to play as and why?
Favorite: France. You've got good sea room for fleets, and it has excellent position on defense. I was attacked by both England and Germany at the beginning of the last game I won. I was able to fight my way back up my country by myself and eventually win. First country I ever played as well.

Trying to set up games
I have been looking around for standard time gams (24 hours or something like that) but all I find are games with 5-10 point buyins. If anyone wants to try something a little more serious(40-60 points) post here. I made a game before but no one had joined it so it seems to me all the interest is either in tiny point games or in 100+ point games that I don't realy want to play yet.
