Heyheyhey, did anyone vote for Prado? I stopped paying attention.

Thanks to the GMs including Wjessop for setting up and running this one. Theme was great and some fun roles.

I did TrPrado. I also said you were in the Maf team. and you were in my reads a few times as being the Ringleader. lol

Thanks to the GMs Bo and Wjessop. I didn't really do anything for this, and regardless of the fact he's no longer on the site Wjessop still deserves the credit for setting this up and running it.

Good game all. I thought town might lose it for a while there if Yoyo shot the wrong person.

A few things led to the mafia losing this one.
1) Maniac played perfectly as inventor. Its a role that could've easily tipped the scales for the mafia. I think he deserves MVP
2) The bus of Vash was unnecessary. You could've used it to strongman kill a PR
3) Not killing the guaranteed townclears when you had the chance.

This was my poorest performance in Mafia to date. I actually find being a vanilla townie the hardest role. When I have a role (Friendly Headmaster in my first game, Cult Leader in my second), the twin tasks of searching for information whilst concealing my role for as long as possible provides me with a focus and shapes my decision making. As a VT I find myself desperate to identify town PRs so that I can support them and follow their lead. (Note: Brainbomb, that doesn't mean uncleared town PRs can just demand to be sheeped, like you did).

When Vecna visited me, I took this as a signal that he trusted me as town, especially after Wjessop PMed me making comments about how ironic it was that I had argued with Vecna and read him as scum on D1. On reflection Wjessop was at fault in sending me such a PM as it influenced my reaction to Vecna's FN visit. Having been influenced in my thinking, I did not account for the possibility that Vecna scum-read me and was actually hunting and pressing to see my reaction.

Therefore when I signalled that I no longer scum-read Vecna and trusted his judgement, I anticipated a Friendly response. Instead, Vecna mocked and attacked me, which (based on the flawed analysis that Wjessop had influenced me to have) I found totally bewildering at the time. This contributed to my weird play of outing Vecna's role.

^ Jamie, I have a lot of time for you, but recently all I'm hearing is you blaming people (usually Wjessop). You do know this is a game right? Lighten up and take responsibility for how you play. No one really cares if you're a Mafia genius or a total loser, but you don't want to be remembered for whining and giving GMs and other players a hard time mate.

I'll say that wjessop had some serious issues keeping himself from improperly interfering with Mafia games, both as a GM and as a player. I guess it's hard to shake the desire to cheat for some people.

First of all, Maniac, you're right that I probably need to lighten up. Fair comment.

Second of all, my first sentence did acknowledge that my play was bad. I made several poor decisions, I was too much of a jerk to Brainbomb, and I must take a considerable share of the responsibility for how I responded to Wjessop's fuck-ups.

But fuck up he did.

(FWIW the reason I mention Sargmacherjessop specifically is that I have no complaint against bo-sox and would not want to give the impression I was ranting at both GMs.

On that note, thank you bo-sox for your efforts especially given the somewhat trying circumstances.

@jamie - I just think when people play games, even for big money like football, the players should not be concerned with things they can't affect, just concentrate on your own performance. They amount of times I see footballers/managers earning millions blame a linesman for a poor decision. It serves no purpose. People make mistakes, calling a linesman blind/corrupt/incompetent and doubting their parentage is a waste of time. Concentrate on the things you can affect.

Oh come on, Maniac. Forum Mafia is not football. It is a game based on information and guessing. Do you propose that I ignore everything the GMs do - including PMs sent directly to me - since I cannot control whether the GM is prone to errors or not??

Case in point: Yoyoyozo claimed, in the main thread, that his PM from Wjessop about the Doctor visit was 8 hours late. Wjessop, in a PM to me which, on reflection, perhaps he should not have sent me, stated this was untrue and the delay was no more than 2 hours.

I decided to assume Wjessop was correct because he was the GM.

You seem to think that I should have either blanked this information out of my mind, or arbitrarily belived Yoyoyozo.

@jamie - no you can't ignore referee's decisions/actions but there is a way of dealing with it. If it's a mistake by someone, just move on. Did every other player give Wjessop a hard time about it? It was a trivial point and you cast it as being game critical that altered cause of the game. It wasn't that big an issue.

It critically affected my read of Yoyoyozo for over a day of gameplay. I was in a position where it appeared to me that the GM had told me Yoyoyozo was lying.

What? You saying it critically affected one read on one day of a fun game of forum Mafia? You're absolutely right, I'd have shot Wjessop and all his friends and family, buried them is sewerage, dug them up and burnt their bodies in the street to discourage anybody else from making such a stupid mistake ever again.

It might make getting other people to GM games in future harder, but it's worth it.

All I am saying is that it affected my gameplay, because that is the truth. Wjessop PMing me needless comments about Vecna affected my gameplay as well.

I'm not calling for anything to be done to Wjessop (who in any case has been banned for other crimes against webDip), you're making that up.

As for "making it harder" to find GMs as a result of my criticism of Wjessopmacher's errors? Hogwash. There is a waiting list of eager future GMs.

The players in a game have every right to hold the umpires / GMs of that game to account. This discourages sloppy or biased adjudication and encourages robust, careful, fair refereeing.

I am on the list to GM in future, and when it is my turn, I actively encourage everyone playing in that game to hold me to this standard.

Good job at my fellow townies, well played.

Have to agree with scum this one was very town sided in the end. So many people made this one harder to win for town by lurking ultra hard, making totally unneeded pr claims or outting them for book reason whatsoever. Without that scum would've been without chance unless they're have gotten the cop early.

@jamie - if I had a problem with GMs I'd like to think it could be resolved without the venom and hopefully after the game when people are calmer.

Just because we have willing GMs now doesn't mean we can abuse them.

I haven't read the God QT but I'm sure I come in for a bit of abuse in it.
