Game Variant: Declaration of war
I wanted to check the opinions (and maybe gather people interested) to try out something. Haven't check if such variants are already out there and have been tested - would appreciate all feedback.

What ever happened with Hicham and Tux (12966 and 12967)?
There was a post earlier today that is completely gone about their suspicious consecutive numbers and they nearly every game one is in, so is the other. That post is no where to be found although older ones that haven't had new messages since then are. So what happened?

phpDip Mobile?
Anyone have trouble accessing this from a phone? I'm using a Blackberry Storm 9530 and whenever I view a game board my chat just appears as a long list instead of having its own window with its own scroll-bar. It will go behind the map, so if I haven't talked with the person much their message gets hidden. Then it will continue down, overlapping with order information, etc. as far down as it has to.

Anyone else had anything like this? More importantly, anyone know the fix?

The EG war machine has put me in a very tough position, what do Russia's new allies have in mind in their invasion of Germany?

I have yet to hear a reply from Germany on his war of aggression.
in any case, i plan to begin by reconquering my dishonorably stolen territory.
if we coordinate an attack rapidly and on all fronts, we will dismember the German regime before Christmas.

I hate all of you.
You are all as much BS'ers as the rest...

England, you dummy, france SAID he would take that action as a decleration of war... Yet you still moved there?

Turkey, I was never a lost cause... I only lost a SC because you and russia attacked me, if you hadn't and actually helped I would still be alive and kicking. What happened to letting me have serbia? I actually had an extra unit I could ahve sent to get it and make a good defense with but noooooooooooooooooooo.

Same with Russia, what ever happened to not getting involved except for Romania?

England, france and germany, LOL at you guys saying you care about me dying. You only care because your enemies got my territory.

I'm sure that we are all very distressed at your loss of sovereignty, Austria.
You have my condolences, and if it were up to my, you would still be very much alive.

Woah! Since when did saying "I would like to point out that Germany and England are pretty clearly allied to the detriment of Russia and France." mean "I hate you England and hope you burn"?!

Turkey, I did as you asked and built in Rome, and I was pleased to see you didn't build another fleet. I would like to see us put our differences aside, and start working together more fully. What do you say?

"I'm sure that we are all very distressed at your loss of sovereignty, Austria.
You have my condolences, and if it were up to my, you would still be very much alive."

I second that sentiment.

The tragedy of Austria's fall cannot be excused by the deceitful wordplay of the Sultan.

It was warmongering at its finest that caused the invasion of Austrian soil by the Russo-Turkish juggernaught. I do not particularly like the Italian occupation of Trieste, but at least he had a reason. Austria had all but declared his intention to move against Italy.

And to Italy then: If you are not the enemy of nation, where do you stand? If you wish to remain neutral in this fight I respect that decision, but it would be nice if you were more explicit.

And I cannot stress enough the danger you will be in if the Juggernaught becomes more successful.

I would be very pleased by such an arrangement, Italy. I believe we have the groundwork for a strong working relationship between us.
Austria, Italy responded to your implied aggression against him, if England shall be believed in his statement above. Germany and England forced Russia to turn south to merely maintain his holdings, and it would be madness for me to allow my neighbors to grow without taking any steps to keep myself on even ground.
Also, your initial attempts to turn Russia against me were a bit annoying.

England, you're really not fooling anyone with your wolf-crying of "Juggernaut." Especially not while you and Germany attack France.

You know what? I have an idea.

Let's test the English and German commitments to peace.

I propose that all Eastern Powers will allow Austria to retake his home centers and Serbia in exchange for the restoration of Sweden to Russia and all French territories to France, as well as Western nonaggression towards the east.

What's it going to be?

There it is, everyone. I have submitted a Draw Vote.

Everyone who just wants peace - now is your chance.

O.o

I was _joking_. I have almost no interest in a draw at all. Not yet. Also, I don't know why anyone feels bad for Austria. Yeah, it sucks that he got screwed over*, but that's what happens in this game. Fight it out to the bitter end, people. Are you really willing to give up a shot at a win for a weak 7 way draw? I think not.

On that note, Turkey, I would be most disappointed if your fleets happened to slip into both the Med and Aegean.

*sorry!

I understand that entirely, Italy. Keep in mind, though, I did that when I saw you suddenly grab Ionian, contrary to our agreement. I figure I'll leave it in Smyrna or Syria.

What I really want to see is, will England follow through on his claims of desiring peace?

Let's see it, England. And don't try to back out by pointing at Italy. Come on.
Chalks (488 D)

I know, and that was the reason I let you decide where I built. I'm sure you also understand the reason I remained in Ionian... it was the only way to ensure the capture of Trieste. This turn I will move my fleet out. I don't know where to yet, but it won't be east. Furthermore, I will bounce in the Ionian with Apulia and Aegean. Sound ok?
Pandarsenic (1485 D)

Sounds good? one second, let me check the game.
Pandarsenic (1485 D)

So, I'm not particularly inclined to poke at Ionian right now - Aegean is needed to convoy from Smyrna to Greece to free it up for Con to move there. So, uh. Yeah.

I see the Tsar is willing to draw as well! I most pleasing development.

I propose that if those who want the draw outnumber those who refuse to, we systematically annihilate anyone who refuses while keeping our draw votes in.

Friendly Sword (636 D)

We do want peace Turkey, we really really want it.

But we want the right peace.

You just said anyone who refused peace would be systematically anhiliated. My two friends are Germany (who is still MIA :( ) and Italy.

Both of them, including Austria momentarily, have stated or implied thier intention not to draw.

Therefore, with a heavy heart I declare I cannot condone thier destruction by the juggernaught.

I will fight with my friends untils the bitter end, or until they a) agree to a draw or b) Demonstrate ill will or unreasonable attitudes.

None of those have happened yet. I appreciate your sentiment though.

I have yet to hear a convincing argument for why we should draw at the moment. I am content to continue the battle for the time being. I am not willing to pander to the baseless masses.

@E. I affirm our continued friendship.
Shah (815 D)

You guys keep saying me and Turkey have a juggernaut going. Seriously? How stupid would we have to be to have a juggernaut in a public press game...which makes it impossible to do successfully. All we've done is a DMZ and NAP, oh yeah fear the war mongering Turks and Russians. Yet it was the Germans and English who launched the first attack on foreign soil in this game.

Lots of small-pot WTA games
I'm setting up a bunch of small-pot WTA games, with various point-levels and timescales. Anyone wanting to play WTA is invited to join some. If too many take off, then I'll CD out of a few; I can't really cope with more than five turn finishes per day.

What are your favorite and least favorite countries to play as and why?
Favorite: France. You've got good sea room for fleets, and it has excellent position on defense. I was attacked by both England and Germany at the beginning of the last game I won. I was able to fight my way back up my country by myself and eventually win. First country I ever played as well.

Trying to set up games
I have been looking around for standard time gams (24 hours or something like that) but all I find are games with 5-10 point buyins. If anyone wants to try something a little more serious(40-60 points) post here. I made a game before but no one had joined it so it seems to me all the interest is either in tiny point games or in 100+ point games that I don't realy want to play yet.
