Game Variant: Declaration of war
I wanted to check the opinions (and maybe gather people interested) to try out something. Haven't check if such variants are already out there and have been tested - would appreciate all feedback.

What ever happened with Hicham and Tux (12966 and 12967)?
There was a post earlier today that is completely gone about their suspicious consecutive numbers and they nearly every game one is in, so is the other. That post is no where to be found although older ones that haven't had new messages since then are. So what happened?

phpDip Mobile?
Anyone have trouble accessing this from a phone? I'm using a Blackberry Storm 9530 and whenever I view a game board my chat just appears as a long list instead of having its own window with its own scroll-bar. It will go behind the map, so if I haven't talked with the person much their message gets hidden. Then it will continue down, overlapping with order information, etc. as far down as it has to.

Anyone else had anything like this? More importantly, anyone know the fix?

I wouldn't mind such a solution but how can I be sure that Turkey and Italy won't just destroy you, plus by not taking a SC this turn I have to remove a unit... and take the chance that all of your remaining SCs won't already be taken.

Turkey, would it be a big deal if I left a fleet in the ionian one more turn?

To France: Let me assure you, that unless there is untoutward aggression by either side, the Anglo-Belgian army will remain holding as a buffer between France and Germany.

In this times of turbulence we cannot afford too many enemies.

And on that note, I wonder if I can request your permission to engage in a foreign exploratory mission with my western fleet that you so honourably acquiesed to allowing into the English Channel.

With large and troublesome threats to Italian sovereignty from the east, we feel it is our duty to send some sort of force to help them out as par our earlier agreement.

Therefore I request of you to allow my fleet to move into the Mid-Atlantic (Which I regard as your rightful territory), then into the Western Meditteranean (which is also yours by right) and into the Tyrrhenian which we rergard as Italian territory.

I'm sure the Italian people would welcome our help against the Turkish and Austrian threats.

To Russia; fear not. We do not seek to necessarily eliminate your sovereingty, just to prevent threat of a northern Russian invasion on our soil.

@ England: I'm afraid that i cannot allow that. It is the fallacy of long distance allies. i will see it as an act of War, and will have to respond in kind, for better or for worse.

I'd just like to point out to France that I have not asked for any help from England. No offense, Friendly, but moving to MAO would seem awfully aggressive of you, and while I appreciate your offer of help, I have a feeling it would merely garner you an enemy.

I feel all alone. I'll just finish jabbing at Austria for now and sit in my Sad Corner. :<

Italy, my willingness to go along with your Ionian Fleet will be largely contingent on build choice - but mostly your location.

Namely, I will view any build in Naples as a threat of a convoy or an attempt at Ionian dominance, which I will fight forcefully, immediately.

England has sadly and grudgingly decided that if the French want war, that is what they will get. We invite our German allies to help in this crusade against impoliteness we will wage in France.

Furthermore, we once again express our unconditional support of Italy, and will wage harsh and unrelenting war against anyone who appears to be violating thier sovereignty.

That is all for now.

We would like to make absolutely clear that We have no desire for war with either England or with Germany. We are simply responding to the unprovoked invasion of our territory by the said powers.

Oh dear. Ah, anyway.

[Turkey]
England, Germany, your claims of not being belligerent power fool nobody. I suggest Italy, Russia, France, Austria's remnants, and Turkey all make a point of ensuring their destruction before they make themselves the death of us all.

Italy, a Naples fleet or army build will be considered an act of war, but I'm fine with ANY other build - either kind in any place that is not Naples.

Alas the way the discourse has been going of late!

I'm actually kind of upset that France has percieved my action to a declaration of war.

I really don't know what all this hubbub is about- I genuinely just wanted passage into the Med. If I had wanted to attack France with Germany, I would moved Belgium- who could have been threatened by France had not Germany moved to Burgundy.

And now, it seems even Italy has turned against me, I who risked war to help him out. And help you indeed need help, he who is bordered on by Turkey and Russia.

And on that note;
Everyone is all upset about Anglo-German collusion. If you'll all look to the east, you'll see the much more threatened image of the Juggernaught.

What does this monstrosity eat? Why, Austria's of course, and Italy/Germany's for dessert.

This CANNOT be allowed to happen!

As a result, I make a plea to France, Austria (who we have done no wrong), and Italy- who is most threatened.

Work with us to destroy the Juggernaught, and you can get in on our draw. Refuse to, and you can count yourselves out.

France, the western triple can yet work.

Italy, once Germany and I are weakened, you will be next on the plate (and that is for certain).

Austria, we can't promise you much (obviously), but I will do all that is humanely possible to see you survive if you work with us, and pressure Germany into doing so as well.

Let us combine to restrain the oppressive Imperial regimes of the East!

There's a Juggernaut?
Where?
Please direct me to it.
I don't see it.
At all.

Quit trying to fearmonger our attention away from your warmongering. D: You and Germany have a far more concrete war machine than NAP and DMZ of BLA which is the sum of my alliance with Russia.

You see, EG is actively picking out targets to assault in their unspoken quest for expansion Russia and I have merely agreed that Austria was a lost cause, as it was, which we have now agreed need not be the case. Italy and I have clearly reached our understanding - I did not build another fleet, and he did not build in Naples.

Therefore, I shall simply slide my armies into forward positions and wait, as has been my policy.

Italy, you have my leave to attack E or G; I will not make my "peacekeeping" attempts against you if you do so.

Lots of small-pot WTA games
I'm setting up a bunch of small-pot WTA games, with various point-levels and timescales. Anyone wanting to play WTA is invited to join some. If too many take off, then I'll CD out of a few; I can't really cope with more than five turn finishes per day.

What are your favorite and least favorite countries to play as and why?
Favorite: France. You've got good sea room for fleets, and it has excellent position on defense. I was attacked by both England and Germany at the beginning of the last game I won. I was able to fight my way back up my country by myself and eventually win. First country I ever played as well.

Trying to set up games
I have been looking around for standard time gams (24 hours or something like that) but all I find are games with 5-10 point buyins. If anyone wants to try something a little more serious(40-60 points) post here. I made a game before but no one had joined it so it seems to me all the interest is either in tiny point games or in 100+ point games that I don't realy want to play yet.
