@brainbomb, why is it that when people don't buy your case on HR, they automatically become part of a scum team?

@trip - I don't like Chaqa either right now, but let's say hypothetically that they're both town and one or the other is definitely going to to noose. Which would you want to lose?

OB, what? I'm always very direct in this game. My reaction tests are things whose meanings are obvious so that reactions are clear. Otherwise there are too many uncontrolled variables. When do I ever play this game like it's diplomacy?

I've never played FP with you ghug, so I don't know what you are like in Diplomacy. An uncontrolled variables is why I want to run braimbomb out of the game. Surely you of all players can get behind that motive.

And did you say your RTs are obv? Then how are they tests if they're so obvious? You can't interpret a reaction test from something that is obvious. You make no sense.

@ OB: That's a good point; is information overload better or worse than no information? On some level I'd say being able to pick through info is better than having none, but it's a level I'd like to avoid. I'd have to go with bb because I view it as foolish to bet on someone who has provided nil in the hopes that they'll get involved somewhere down the line.

@OB If the choice comes down to lynching someone who purposefully posts the bare minimum in order to avoid being modkilled, and is intentionally providing as little to to the town as possible, and killing one of the most frequent posters, town should always kill the silent player. (If there are no other significant variables.) Talkative players, even to the level of brainbomb, are more useful to the town than total lurkers. This is why you will notice that the mafia rarely, if ever, help the town out by killing lurking players, unless they have reason to believe that lurker is in fact a PR.

As such, town PR's should fucking know better than to be lurkers, because mafia are the only ones who can know for certain if a committed lurker is scum or not. Every player who skates by on the bare minimum is a detriment to the town, and if I ever get a gun this game, I'm going to shoot one.

OB, it's not about what I'm like in diplomacy. The point is that in diplomacy you talk with a backhanded purpose, whereas here you say what you mean straightforwardly unless you're brainbomb or scum (or both). I think a few of your early posts seemed overly crafted.

Okay OB, fine, just because nobody agrees with me, yea that doesnt mean they are scum. However- I think it is scummy to pander for votes to the crowd because it makes you look like you just hope an easy wagon will stick with the new players. You think that by barking out BRAIN IS UNHELPFUL, HES ANNOYING... that somehow this plan willl resonate with people and it ignores a few important facts.

1) I'm not actually being annoying. you are just annoyed because I'm suspecting you.

2) I am being very respectful and trying not to spam the game but everytime I step away for a few hours I have people talking about me, xorxes, reeder1, trip, teacon, jamiet, you, chaqa, HR, krellin. I literally cannot even walk away from the game for five minutes without someone asking me a question and demanding I show up to answer.

3) When I dont show up promptly to answer everyone, the reads vary from that I am spamming, to that brainbomb is also lurking. Literally go back and look. In a span of only 2 pages I was accused of lurking abnormally, and posting too frequently thus being unhelpful to town. So which is it?

I am tired of this conversation, you give me no reason to respect your baseless accusations, every question you ask me is a loaded baked potato, and frankly the new players are starting to be manipulated by this behavior. I see it as a form of scum manipulation. You are pushing a narrative VERY hard that I am an unhelpful townie and yet all i have done this game is try to get people talking. Unfortunately all the talking has been about brainbomb instead of any of the issues I keep trying to raise. You still have never mentioned anything else in my post, and the only thing you felt was significant about it was that it was delibately to sabotage your case vs Chaqa which you abandoned.

4) You are downplaying the signifcance of the comments you made in regards to your ability to read me as scum. You are lying again. You meant those comments when you said them and of course I will bring them up as its a clear indictment of your lack of interest in actually hunting this game. I realize your day 1 routine is to tunnell someone and waste everyones time, but lets point out that you used that tactic much more effectively last game as I was actually scum and you were able to figure me out pretty easy. Here you arent even trying to find scum and you admit it. I stand out because people keep talking about me and its not appropriate for me to just ignore everyone. Not once in any game I've played have we ever truly lynched a lurker. So all you proponents of it should either band together and make mafia history, or just stop posting about it already. It is such a tired topic.

And *THIS* I why I am obligated to play the game as I play the game. Because as soon as start being polite and not calling ND the <fluffy bunny> that he is, then you will ALL accuse me of dramatic change of behavior and try to lynch me.

Therefore...someone accusing me of being scummy *because I am playing how I always play* is inherently scum to me, because they are demanding I do something to caus suspicion to fall upon myself, why simultaneously calling my present, known and consistent behavior scummy.

i.e. I ahve not "overreacted" at all to ND's bullshti attacks on me. IN fact, anyone that doesn't see ND's attacks are a scum ploy is either a moron or in league with him.

C'mon let's make Mafia history, in both senses.

So a couple of thoughts about Brainbomb over the past few pages:

Brainbomb’s inconsistence on players and their likelihood of being scum based on the site meta is a mistake that I once made (M9). I was told in M9 that it was called the gambler’s fallacy and folks have told Brainbomb that in this game too. The fact of the matter is that the roles are chosen randomly as I pointed out in my observation post. This doesn’t concern me all that much because it could easily be a mistake and it was one that I once made when I was new to the game.

The more concerning issue is the end vote and this statement: “I will not be answering anymore questions until every lurker contributes.”

Brainbomb knows, surely he knows, that not every lurker is going to contribute day 1. It is likely there is a modkill. There usually is and even if every lurker contributes they may not contribute until the last few minutes of the phase. Look at last game, some people, only contributed during the last few minutes to stay above the post threshold/vote threshold. Now, this is conjecture, but surely he knows this. So, the only thing his statement and end vote accomplishes is giving him an out from participating and asking questions for the remainder of the phase which is about 20+ hours.

Brainbomb I know you said you wouldn’t answer any more questions, but could you speak about your intended goals with this? Why do you no longer want to ask questions and participate for the remainder of the phase? Don’t you believe that posting and continued discourse is helpful?

I play many games with people on here, Civ, gunboats, EM, and I am not going to be an anchor slave to this game at all times. I will ask politely that the fellow townies start asking people questions, building cases, and supplying reads list before Mafia runs away with this game and we are all lost to this type of bullshit.

I will supply reads possibly tonight, but I just am tired of all the conversations being about me, and everyone only having cases and thoughts that involve me. I am not the only player in this game. There is no 3rd party brainbomb role. Understand we need to step up our town play NOW. We are being herded around like bile sheep.

Oh for the love of God ND, an END wagon is not going to take off. Obviously nobody is going to join me to END day 1. I'm just getting really frustrated that I am the only one anybody has the balls to ask a question too. Isnt there anything else? Is there nobody else worth making cases on?

Okay Brainbomb, thank you for your answer, but I am not sure about the second part of your statement/question. I have questioned Krellin heavily (and still haven't really gotten any answers) so not sure if that was directed to me or someone else.

If my cases are such complete trash can anyone else come up with better ideas? What do we have so far?

Vash actually put some effort into his vote and I would consider it. Those are the issues we should be talking about not relentlessly bringing up brainbomb and always making brainbomb respond to a litany of questions and accusations.

For his professed lurking, his odd ball opening and other comments that leads me to believe he's trying to hide in plain sight, his lack of answering questions, and his hypocrisy in trying to influence others to vote for bb and krellin because they aren't providing substance...

@OB I am aware that it never happens. I want to make mafia "history" and finally do something useful with the D1 lynch again. Captainmeme is the epitome of the professional lurker, and that is why I continue to say he needs to die. Yoyo's "hi" and then silence is idiotic, but I expect he'll show up and act like it was all some funny joke for him to go silent again.

@all Can we at least agree that it IS beneficial to the town to kill a lurker? If we can, then why won't anyone else jump on meme as a statement of support of that idea?

I do think that yoyoyozo should say more than "hi" if he is online. That is a pretty ridiculous opening statement and I hope that doesn't get counted towards the "5 substantial posts" that this game requires.

@bb meme IS the worst lurker. That's the thing. He's a chronic lurker who has used his lurking as a tactic in the last mafia game. You were in the QT with him when he doubled down on lurking. He's got the strongest history of it, and if he's unwilling to change, then we need to make the statement that it won't be tolerated and KILL HIM.
