I accept that it is unfortunate for MR Z because he got it all wrong on the night, gun in pocket behaving like a macho-man. Looks like he'll be let off but that doesn't he didn't do it, he knows what he did, he will have to fight his own inner demons, whether in or out of prison.

Here is what my reading has shown to be the case in most states laws with regards to self defense/defense of others where neither combatant is the owner of the property on which the altercation occurs...

The defender has an obligation to flee if he can. If he does not do so when he has the upper hand, he becomes the aggressor and the previous aggressor become the defender. TM had an obligation to flee as soon as he had the upper hand. Had he done that instead of continuing his assault on GZ, he would A) be alive and B) have a case against GZ for the harassment and possibly starting the fight (we don't know for sure). But because he chose to continue the fight, he became the aggressor and GZ became the defender. That seems to be (from my research, feel free any attorneys to correct me) where the prosecutions case is going to fall apart. Once GZ was on the bottom, he was now defending himself from an aggressor (TM) who hadn't taken the opportunity to extract himself from the situation.

and I don't know of anyone who considers Mr. Zimmerman a hero. My take is he is a victim of 1) his own stupidity and 2) politically based prosecution.

Zimmerman's no hero at all. He made a lot of mistakes that night. However, it looks like the prosecution hasn't been able to prove that his actions make him guilty of murder. We'll see what the jury rules, though.

Now we have certain citizens threatening to loot televisions from Walmart if Zimmerman is acquitted. Makes you go hmm.

What you're referring to is known legally as a "duty to retreat". I'm not sure but I think both the defender and the aggressor have a duty to remove themselves from the situation if possible. Since it appears Martin was on top of Zimmerman, he could not possibly have fled, which means his use of deadly force was justified.

Why would you riot (violent protest is rarely acceptable, mindless rioting/looting is never acceptable) because the legal system did its fucking job and acquitted an innocent man? For me, GZ means nothing to me. I am looking at this from the side of 'where is there any proof' that he did anything against the law. And shooting someone, if you fear for your life is NOT against the law...yet.

GZ is a dumbass. 100%, however every witness of any worth, and all science says that GZ is not guilty of 2nd degree murder. manslaughter, perhaps, but the charge is 2nd degree.

What really burns my a$$ is the way the media jumped on THIS BS, but leave things like that poor kid in Houston who was kidnapped by a black woman, and BLOW TORCHED to death, on Christmas day, does not get a single second of MSM.

Why is that? Because, the media will not put any cases of black on white crimes, no matter HOW terrible they may be, up front for all to see.

Why is the shooting of someone who couldhave probably avoided the situation, and according to evidence, escalated the evidence, worthy of 10-12 hours a DAY of MSM attention, but the brutal murder of a 12 year old boy not worth 12 total minutes?
