Some things that have stood out to me, attempting to get close to one per person, arranged in order of noteworthiness:
Espi- Espi's game has been a disaster so far. He's so so tonally inconsistent in the first two pages, cycling between joke posting, criticizing joke posting, and claiming not to be joke posting at all. He asked people to address one of Balki's early posts without addressing it himself. He makes a forced seeming address to scum. And now he's run away. ##vote Espi
toemato- Similarly, a disaster game so far. Literally checking off every box for newbie scum. Asking other players what they can do for them, aping past arguments from previous games, obvious fear in posts. I don't agree (with bo) that we shouldn't go for newbie scum day 1. The only argument I see is that it encourages new players to keep playing with us, which is a pretty crappy reason.
DO- To some degree similar to Toemato and Espi, but not really. The case on DO seems to be almost completely based on "scum slips" which are a bull shit way to try to make reads.
bo- This post really stands out to me:
"yeah, when someone completely clueless gets coached, it will become apparent no matter when it occurred. Subtleties might be more difficult to spot with the encryptor, as I already pointed out, but any major changes, especially that first post where he tries really, really hard to do as he was coached to do, will still be obvious."
It just seems weirdly focused on how the mafia is going to behave. If there wasn't day chat, I would feel like he was coaching in the thread. Since there is day chat, I can't help but feel like I am getting reverse psychologied or something like that. Or maybe that he is providing cover for a mafia buddy who started poorly but will be looking to bounce back (Toemato? Espi? DO?)
Damian- I originally like damian's activity, but since damian has made many many posts that are basically like "I'm really aggressive because I'm town" which reads false to me. Town play is about showing, not telling. Pair this with what seems to be a relative lack of purpose with his play and we have a scum lean.
Balki Bartokomous, y2kjbk- I agree with y2k that Balki's posts are most fluff than substance. y2k, you've voted for Balki, damian said he agreed with you. Why aren't you actually trying to get people on the wagon with you?
ghug- I love the idea of using day vig to get an extra lynch. I think the optimal day vig shot is probably halfway through day 2, so I believe that would be Friday at EOD time. People who think for some inexplicable reason that a vig shot is better because it is "100% town motivated" are idiots. If all of our lynches were vig shots, we would get destroyed- the whole source of information is the interactions that come from lynching pressure. The only way this really works is if most everyone agrees to get a vote out by midday day 2. Can people agree/disagree with this?
Yoyoyozo- Agree that his start is scummy. Would vote.
Saladinsmith- It's ironic that you are voting for players based on their usefulness to town. That is all.
wjessop- Never understood the argument against wjessop. Seems the most likely town to me so far.
Maniac- I'm curious to see if Maniac is going to keep up the +1, -1 thing he proposed in the sign up thread. It seems that this is just scum cover. The fact that he hasn't gone to it yet makes me think he is town.
I like guak and HR's early contribution, not as convinced by captmeme.
So, quickly:
1. y2kjbk- slight town
2. ghug- town
3. Hellenic Riot -med town
4. Yoyoyozo - slight scum
5. ND- null
6. Saladinsmith- null
7. OB_Gyn_Kenobi- null
8. DeathLlama9- null
9. Balki Bartokomous- slight scum
10. bo_sox48- med scum
11. captainmeme- ever so slight town
12. wjessop- town
13. Maniac- town
14. Espi- scum
15. Damian- slight scum
16. guak- town
17. Toemato- med scum
18. DemonOverlord- ever so sligh scum lean
(these are relative to the probability that a random player is scum, of course- there's no player except maybe Espi that I think is more likely to be scum than town yet)
