I Need a Mod
I need a mod to take a look at some reason postings in the thread I maintain, the Daily Bible Reading because a player is posting extremely offensive material of a graphic sexual nature that is completely unrelated to the topic. I muted him, but want to know if this is permitted or if it can be deleted from the Forum.

The Return of NFL Pick 'em: Week 1 (Plus your picks for Playoff Teams + The Super Bowl!)
So a day late and seven Peyton TDs later--damn, he was great last night!--NFL Pick 'em is back...
So, besides the Broncos/Ravens game, pick the winners for the Week 1 match-ups...THEN pick your playoff teams (the 1-6 seeds for each conference) and then, of course...your Super Bowl match-up and champs.
So, NFL, Week 1...PICK 'EM!

Welfare pays better than work in the US
A mother of two in New York is eligible for more in welfare benefits than starting salaries for school teachers in the state. Hawaii offered the most money to a mother of two, $60, 590 and Idaho the least $11,150. 33 states offer more in welfare than full-time minimum wage work earns.

Has anyone tried this test: http://www.politicaltest.net/test/ . Aside from a few poorly constructed questions, mostly due to poor grammar. It's not half bad, and they have some nice analysis of the distribution of results on another page on the site. Though they don't really define their terms, so perhaps I'm being over generous. My results : http://www.politicaltest.net/test/result/366340
mendax (321 D)

It's a german website, so it's not surprising the grammar is a little dodgy.

As for me: "You are a social democratic Cosmopolitan. 10 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 4 percent are more extremist than you." SO that sounds about right.

@Eden: You and me have near identical results:
Cosmopolitan: 43% vs 47%
Secuar: 72% vs 50%
Visionary: 22% vs 10%
Capitalist: 87% vs 78%
Anarchist: 55% vs 49%
Pacifist: 72% vs 71%
Anthropocentric: 50% vs 74%

Seems we share the same views, and almost identically for some of the options.

Your more secular then me because for most of the religious options I was only hitting agree not strongly agree, and I'm probably more Anthropocentric for the same reason.

I'm surprised your more capitalist then me, because I answer very capitalist in most questions, I'm not sure where I lost points, lol
It's about emphasis, I think. 4/5 of my weighted responses concerned economics, and their philosophical lean is probably pretty predictable. You're right wrt religious questions, I don't think I came across a single one where I had enough hesitancy on hitting "disagree completely" or "strongly agree." I'd imagine the same thing happened in reverse wrt environmental questions.

lol at pacifist 72 vs 71
Oh, did I mess up anything by not using weights?
You're likely going to appear more moderate than you would otherwise (unless you were to put all your weights onto questions which you answered "neutral," in which case you might appear less moderate than you really are).
Fasces349 (0 DX)
19 Aug 13 UTC
@PE: 4/5 were economic for me too. I relooked at the questions, the ones were I wasn't the perfect capitalist on was:
"Education is common property, which has to be accessible free of charge for every citizen."
I put strongly agree

"Employees have taken way too much liberty towards their employers by now."
I was neutral on this one, cause I don't know what the fuck this is asking me, lol

@GF: Not much, just mean you placed a higher value on those beliefs then the others.

for a real result there :P. i do think the test is flawed though with the authoritarian/libertarian questions, i am quite for the individual, but i do hold many views that favour regimes like cuba with various restrictions on western freedoms.
Yeah I went the opposite direction on the education question, fasces. Depending on emphases (guess I'll have to go back and look!), that could account for it alone, though I doubt it (iirc I didn't emphasize that one). I also went neutral on the employer/employee question; it's basically asking for how you view the power dynamic between employers and employees (do employees have too much power now, or not?) and I went neutral because that question is too broad, and my experience too narrow, to give a general statement on

What was your non-economic one? I'm guessing "Violence is never the answer" because that's what I did and our pacifist scores are virtually identical.

Fun initiative to try map the Diplomacy players politically, but...

These questions are so silly-stupid it makes my stomach turn.
I'd think The diplomacy community should be intelligent enough to be laughing at these questions, or blushing at what is the typical leftist-biased nonsense "ideological" wanking.
We need go no further than the first question.
"Economic globalisation should serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations".
"Serve humanity". Well, that is easy to say and it says nothing concrete, nothing specific unless it should be interpreted as "serve human beings against other species of the earth".
Obviously a proponent for trans-national corporation argues with the view that these corporations serve humanity, not because they are an end in themselves.
I am no lover of trans-national corporations, but the logical alternative to them is not to "serve humanity" instead. That's why I blush. Which such stupidity in the leftist camp, we'll have to stay with the trans-nationals...

That's the first question and they're all of the same quality. I completed the test, landed with Mandela, pretty close to Philcore, and Hi Krellin... I knew you wouldn't fail me... :D
But it's all nonsense anyway. I'd land close to the middle anyhow simply because of the stupidity of the questions.
