Newbie questions - Civil Disorder
How does NMR differ from CD? When does CD take effect? If a player who NMR, and has a unit dislodged, is it disbanded or retreats? If it retreats, what is the rule for retreat? ie, if it has the choice for a SC or empty space, does the AI here chose the SC?

And admittedly, technically the burden in a criminal case for a self-defense in MD, the plaintiff "only has a burden of production on the issue of self-defense".

Why are you guys defending him, it's obvious that he is guilty as sin, I don't get it. This is worse than OJ
Invictus (240 D)

Oh, you passed the bar in Maryland?
Draugnar (0 DX)
09 Jul 13 UTC
Nigee - No it isn't obvious. And we have the rule of law that we wish to maintain. Without it, all falls into chaos and we return to old west hangings and lynch mobs and such. This isn't about GZ or TM. IT is about the law and the prosecution living up to their obligation to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to 12 men and women who have *no* preconceived notion of his guilt or innocence and no politcal axe to grind.
Draugnar (0 DX)

No, invictus, just able to read like most college grads in the professional world.
Invictus (240 D)
09 Jul 13 UTC
Well then I guess you can tell me what "only has a burden of production on the issue of self-defense" mean.

Can't? Oh, you just googled something like "self-defense burden of proof defendant" and then posed the Wikipedia article for Maryland's law to be a smart ass? Gotcha.

Nigee must be trolling, because for all the stupid shit he says, I think he is actually intellingent.

Draugnar (0 DX)

Read above, Invictus, where I did notice that and included it before you did. YEs, I made a mistake there. The burden of proof for self-defense is apparently only in civil cases.

Forensic expert says when trayvon was shot he was on the top. Clothing was two to four inches away from his bodu when he eas shot

Guess that puts the "holes in zimmermans defense" to rest

TM was not committing any crime, not upsetting or offending anyone, he was approached by someone armed and dangerous, ever get the feeling he might have feared for his life ...... Zimmerman was armed and aggressive, he was creating the environment, dictating the behaviour. He was a lot heavier than TM and had a motive to confront TM ...... what motive did TM have to attack GZ apart from in self-defense or in fear for his life.
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
09 Jul 13 UTC
What motive? To teach this creepy cracker behind him a lesson!
krellin (80 DX)
09 Jul 13 UTC
Uh Ohhhhh......forensic evidence testimony....based upon TM wounds, and the hole in TM's shirt, which were out of alignment by about 4 inches - this indicates his shirt was hanging loose from his body, as if....SURPRISE SURPRISE....TM was on top of Zimmerman leaning over him, as you would when beating him up. Further, there are 6 clearly identifiable wounds on Zimmerman, on the back of his head, on both temples, his nose....etc etc. etc....

And again, despite the evidence, the morons supporting TM will ignore reality, will ignore facts, in favor of their bizarre ideological stance that Zimmerman is guilty and TM was just some sweet innocent little kid.

I pity you TM supporters and your disconnection from reality.

....

Is it any wonder that the same people that so clearly deny reality in this case (i.e. support TM despite all evidence against him being the aggressor), are the same that generally support Obama, Liberalism (or worse and various forms of Marxism...), abhor Capitalism, etc....so, at least you fools are very consistent in being wrong about pretty much damned near everything in the world.
krellin (80 DX)
09 Jul 13 UTC
Nigee - you fucking moron....his crime was JUMPING ZIMMERMAN , GETTING HIM TO THE GROUND AND TRYING TO DO HIM GREAT BODILY HARM, POSSIBLY KILLING HIM.

IT IS A FUCKING CRIME TO ATTACK SOMEONE, JACKASS!!
krellin (80 DX)
09 Jul 13 UTC
Likewise, Zimmerman was not commiting any crime when he was following TM. The onyl time crime enetered in to the story was when the THUG MARTIN decided to attack the "cracker asshole" that was following him. At THIS point in time, and ONLY at this point in time, was the first AND ONLY crime commited -- TM commited assualt, and Zimmerman defended himself as he was legally allowed.

TM is the **only** criminal in this case. And for good measure, beside the Assualt charge he would get had he survived, he would be brought on on drug charges, too.

Sorry nigee. Tm never.knew gz.had a.gun til he the fight started. Tm was a low class thug and maybe he didnt deserve to die but he certainly could have run from the situationinstead of making it escalate
mendax (321 D)

he was clearly trying to get away from the situation. That's why GZ was following him - because TM was moving away. You don't follow someone who isn't moving away from you. That wouldn't make sense.

Meanwhile, something gross that's tangentially related:

Yes....jumping someone and smashing their head in to the ground is usually the best way to get away from someone.

Other than Zimmerman's testimony is there evidence that Martin initiated the fight?
SacredDigits (102 D)
10 Jul 13 UTC
The person in the neighborhood who is considered to have had the best view of the altercation states that when he saw it happening, he saw Trayvon on top. He did not see the initiation, though.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
10 Jul 13 UTC
Yeah I understand that. But that only means that Zimmerman can't hold his own in a fight. We'll probably never know though.
Draugnar (0 DX)

But what we do know is that he was on the bottom when he fired. He was losing and in fear for his life if he lost consciousness. Accordingly, most states allow self-defense claims even if the person started the fight should they have not intended certain death and feel they are facing it.

Walk into a bar and start a fist fight. One of the guys you are fighting with pulls a knife and lunges, you can kill him in self defense. Yes, I did a little research on self defense laws and, so long as the initiator did not intend death, the person who upped the ante as it were, can be killed in self defense.

If someone attacks me and I pull a knife on him and kill him is that also self defense? Even if the attacker didn't intend to kill me?
Draugnar (0 DX)
10 Jul 13 UTC
@abge - Depends on the state, but no, not in a public place it isn't. It can be considered excessive force and you be convicted of manslaughter. Now, my reading indicates that in your own home, you can reasonably assume the attacker intends death to you or your loved ones. But most self-defense claims require you to try other means, including escape, before taking the ultimate action of taking someone's life.

I don't think people are supporting TM, why would you support someone you never met and don't know ........ he was shot and for the bigots he is a bad guy because very simply people have made certain assumptions because the murdered guy is black.
This murder was completely avoidable if GZ had not done what he did.
He initiated a confrontation not because he was a tough guy who knows kung fu but because he was carrying a gun which gave him the confidence, knowing he can shoot the guy....... and that is what he did.
This was a completely avoidable situation, Zimmerman is a murderer.
I don't support Trayvon, I don't know the guy, all I know is that he was murdered by Zimmerman, just like everyone knows OJ shot his wife.
For some of you guys justice is done when the black guy takes the blame, you probably don't even realize how bigoted you are.
Stressedlines (1559 D)
10 Jul 13 UTC
Being a moron does not qualify you as a murderer. Bring over-zealous trying to prevent more crime, which is certainly something that happened here does not qualify you as a murderer.

Yo u know why the media went apeshit? Zimmerman is
Stressedlines (1559 D)

Not white but his name is. First thoughts were this man was white. Its how the new word white hsipanic evolved...lol

12000. Know what that number is? Number of black men killed by other black men since trayvon died not a peep from the media on those. This one they invested into heavily too soon and now got mud on their face.

Gz is a dumbass.and.made lots bad.of decisions that night. Making bad.decisions does.not make you a murderer.
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))

"Making bad.decisions does.not make you a murderer"

No, but shooting an unarmed person does. Wake up and smell the chocamoccalatte my friend.
Did he kill him - Yes
Will he be convicted for it - No
It's the American legal system that is on trial here, not Zimmerman.
Nobody really gives a damn about another young problem black kid dying
Stressedlines (1559 D)
10 Jul 13 UTC
unarmed, but not innocent. There is a difference,. You act like he walked up to him, pulled the gun, and pulled the trigger for no reason other than he is black.

Nigee, if I see someone snooping around my neighbors house, that I do not recognize, or I think that does not belong, and I ask him "what are you doing here" and he starts kicking my ass, and I think there is a good chance I may die (keep in mind here, that you do not think rational thoughts at THIS point of getting 'grounded and pounded') and I pull the trigger to save my life, I will not lose a wink of sleep.

Nigee, you know, the media rolled in this shit, because they thought it was a good story, because they thought it was a black on white GUN crime. Now that they see all the EVIDENCE is going to acquit zimmerman, they have decided to double-down on this bet, which is like going all in on a pair of Twos.

Unarmed does not equate to innocent either. TM, 17 year old Football high school player. Think he could not have ran away from this situation from overweight Insurance adjuster, who he was 6-7 inchers taller than? TM is as guilty of being stupid as GZ was. ONly difference is, GZ was losing the fight, and probably badly, and decided he had one avenue left and took it.

As I see it, Tm had options before the fight. once it started, GZ probably thought he had no options except the one he took.
