Random country assignment...
I hear there is an equation or something to keep this from happening too often...

Looking for a few more players.
I am looking for a few more players to join my game. It's called Greg's Awesome Diplomacy Game for Attractive People. The password is mountaindew (no caps or spaces). It's mostly my friends but I guarantee you we won't team up based on friendship. I thought we could get a few more players but nobody responded. Please join. Thanks.

Something is Wrong.
One of my non-chat games has a message thing on it, but when I click on it, it brings me to the game which says that there is no chat available. I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just wondering if that has happened before.

Hopefully this cause a significant backlash against the far-right in Europe.

A worrying trend if there ever was one, that.
denis (864 D)
24 Jul 11 UTC
Well that's the lesson people should learn, the far right is dangerous.
Extremely horrifying.
krellin (80 DX)
24 Jul 11 UTC
And the left-wing trolls rear their ugly heads once again. As if no left-wing whack-job has ever killed anyone. Please, people (denis, Thucy), for once have a shred of integrity, and admit that *neither* side of mainstream politics would advocate this sort of insanity.
considering only one person even brought up the right, only the far right, and only one person at that, why dont you piss off you fucking twit.
Also note that Krellin's response to the UT Austin shooting was "Must have been a disgruntled Obama voter." Mirror much you miserable shit?
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
24 Jul 11 UTC
Fuck off Krellin, you horrible troll. This is neither the time or the place for you to try to start this kind of argument. 92 people have been killed, for fuck's sake.

24 Jul 11 UTC
@santa -- Fucking illiterate moron. Read again. denis...and Thucy...2 of the 3 posters prior to me. You fucking left-wing twit. Jamie....ummm...instead of telling ME to fuck off, why don't you tell Denis and Thucy. I told them to NOT bring up politics, you illiterate jackass.

Ahhhh....Santa and Jamie show their liberal colors, as always.
krellin (80 DX)

It must be horrifying to go through life refusing to actually comprehend what anybody says before your vomit your moronic thoughts to the world. JUST ONCE read and comprehend what someone says before you lash out and attack people.
Must be hard indeed Krellin. At least you admit your sympathies for the Far Right (which was the ONLY group mentioned). Good thing you are defending the honor of Nazi's and supporters of genocide you sick fuck shows who you really are.
BklynBruzer (701 D)

Glad to see krellin is still shitting up the place.
and why should others not bring politics into something like this when you love to do the same thing?
krellin (80 DX)
24 Jul 11 UTC
@santa -- you really don't have a shred of ingrity, or, obviously, the ability to comprehend what people around you say. I suggested that this is not the time for politics (albiet I didn't say it specifically, I thought maybe....just maybe...you fools had the intellectual capacity to read between the lines...). I suggested that pehaps you should have the intellectual capacity and honesty to accept that there are murders on BOTH the right wing and left wing of politics. but...you are so full of blind hatred for anyone that disagrees with you -- kind of like this killer was -- that you can't put aside your hatred for even a moment.

You are amongst the worst kind of human being, right there next to that killer. You can't put aside your vile, violent anger towards others for even a moment. You are truly one sad human being. It must be miserable to have to be around you.

I will say it again...NOBODY on either said of mainstream politics would advocate this action. It is horrifying...and made even more horrifying by fools like you that will actually try to paint one political spectrum as responsible, when *clearly* nobody bu the most radical extremist -- NONE of whom exist on this site -- would advocate this. That you possess so little intellectual integrity that you try to blame this on anyone you disagree with is simply pathetic...and let's be clear, you label most people that disagree with you as extreme. You even keep track of what people you hate and disagree with said from conversation that took place months ago so that your can throw it in their faces. Wow....your sad little soul must literally be on fire with all the hate that fills you.
Rommeltastic (1106 D(B))

Oh god... talk about a way to ruin a vacation. Then again, how selfish is it that we're bickering here right now compared to the grief that must be experienced by 85 families of the children. They were at a SUMMER camp, I don't know ANY leftist attacks on children of this scale or intent.

Krellin, you're wrong. Through and through.
krellin (80 DX)
24 Jul 11 UTC
Rommel....wrong about what? God...here we are again...losers throwing stones but incapable of expanding on a thought beyond just insulting or cutting someone down.

@Santa....by the way, how about you link to this previous comment I made, so that we can see that it was clearly tongue-in-cheek, as the media generally always first and foremost claims that shooters are "right wing extremists". It happened initially with Major hassan, with the Giffords shooter, with teh guy that ran his plane into a building...all of which were later revealed to NOT be a right-wing extremists. In this case, it may have been. In the UT case where I made my tongue-in-cheek comment about it being an Obama supporter, in was to contrast the the typical knee-jerk reaction of the media, which always points to the right first. But...I know....sarcasm and such is, as we well know, beyond your intellectual capacity.
"I will say it again...NOBODY on either said of mainstream politics would advocate this action."

Which is why both posters said FAR RIGHT, not mainstream, you illiterate piece of shit.
krellin (80 DX)
24 Jul 11 UTC
At least if Putin or jack Klien were going to insult me, they would be able to do more than write a single-sentence insult and could explain their position. You people little left-wing sheep, though, can barely write a complete sentence, let alone explain your rationale for what you say.
And again, UT Austin you confoundedly attributed the shooting to an Obama Supporter, ie. a MAINSTREAM LIBERAL, dont believe me look in your profile under old posts, you are a fucking hypocrite as well as illiterate.
Rommeltastic (1106 D(B))
24 Jul 11 UTC
Then I'll do my best:

Oh shit, you said *WOULDN'T* advocate this.

Then sorry, I'm inclined to agree with you all of a sudden. Sorry Krellin.
I guess to Krellin Far Right= Mainstream.
krellin (80 DX)
24 Jul 11 UTC
@Santa....as usual you attack, and can not support your claim. You reference a discussion (the UT convo) from months ago and claim I said something....where is the link? Where is the quote *in context*? Ahhh....caught you in yet another lie, you blithering idiot.

Santa - you are one of the most irrational people on here, which in confounded by your amazing ability to exaggerate, make up facts and lie, take things out of context...and then, when someone tries to address your faulty logic, you simply attack more.

Still waiting for this link about my supposed past statements. Until you can produce it, and demonstrate **in the context of the entire discussion thread** that your claim is true....then are simply a worthless liar. A hate-filled liar, at that -- the type of person that actually incites violence while claiming to be against it because you thrive on anger and trying to belittle others, but don't have the facts or logic to back up your claims.

Krellin: you never told anyone not to bring in politics in the matter. Actually, it was you who tried to make it a political debate by asking "the other side" to recognize that the left also produces killers. That was making it a "left or right" debate, and not stating the FACT that in this case it was a right wing extremist.

Now, all of you... And I do mean everybody with a sense of reason: please consider that extremism is the source of such violence, and not the right or the left. At the end of the day, the debate about right and left is a debate about the founding principle of justice. In all fairness, I believe everyone who cares about this debate to be deeply concerned with one and the same idea: JUSTICE. If that much is granted to me, then you have to admit that having a strong opinion about liberty or equality as the founding principle of justice is not a sufficient cause (hells, it's not a cause at all) for someone to go out and kill a person, let alone 90.
Extremism is the issue, and it's likely fed by ignorance, poverty (which creates resentment; this is not political, ask Nietzsche...) and insanity. In other words, being right or left on the political spectrum likely has little if no part in what brings about these horrible events.

Not bringing politics in the debate, Krellin, would have sounded something like this. Certainly not like the kind of hate that I read (going both ways) and close-mindedness that I see behind most of the disgusting responses you guys sometimes throw around.
You know, trolls also live on both side of the political spectrum.

If I may interject into krellin's pissing on both logic and compasion alike by once again making this into a crusade against the Left--really, krellin, nearly a hundred dead and a hundred injured in a bombing and a shooting, is this REALLY the time and place for your vitriolic and hate-filled attacks on those who don't agree with you politically?--Might I ask...

Has anyone read the Manifesto this guy wrote before his attacks yet?

I'm searching for it, I'd like to see what motivated this man to do what he did, what he thought...granted quotes have already been posted from his schpiel, but I'd like to try and read the thing, to see what made someone from Norway, of all places, go off like this (maybe I'm just...well, "racist" isn't the right word for my somehow viewing Norwegians as being de facto peaceful, is it? I mean, that's not exactly a negative thing to say about them...and not really something I'm attributing to their race so much as their nationality...well, in any case--it DOES just surprise me all the more that this guy WAS Norwegian because, well, I DO tend to think of pretty peaceful people when I think of Norway, so this just seems to come out of the blue, his being from there...)

It's about immigration, obi. Specifically, opposition to the lax policies towards the immigration of Muslims because becoming a more diverse society "weakened" Norway in his opinion. He painted all Muslims as terrorists waiting to happen, which is kind of...interesting hypocrisy.

This sort of thinking is pretty pervasive in several parts of Europe, Switzerland notably.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

"opposition to the lax policies towards the immigration of Muslims because becoming a more diverse society "weakened" Norway in his opinion"

Wow.

I can't think of ANY parallel in the Amrica of a certain group claiming to want to protect and preserve the core values of America while at the same time being charged as racist by opponents just for their opposing Mexican immigration en masse and opposing same sex marriage...

Nope, can't think of anything like that HERE (hey, anyone for a spot of Tea?)

Bottom line, though is, of course, the extremes of the Left AND Right are dangerous...

That and, to call upon H.L. Mencken once more, as this psuedo-intellectual--odd for ME to throw that stone, I know--and wanna-be revolutionary with a gun and a bomb styles himself...

"The common man's a fool."

All the more true in an age where you can post vitriol on a site and feel proud of yourself for spewing hate (I don't know ANYONE on THIS thread who's doing that, though, luckily...)
Cachimbo (1181 D)

It's hard for Americans and Canadians to understand the sort of social pressure that immigration creates in countries that have worked so long and so hard at protecting their national identities against their neighbours. I wouldn't liken the reaction (political or other) that some people have there to the one felt in the States and some part of Canada. I think they are very different issues, if only because of the historical and national context in which they unfold. That being said, this is mostly an (educated) intuition: I'm no sociologist, and I haven't researched any of this over an extensive period of time.
Cachimbo (1181 D)
24 Jul 11 UTC
As for Scandinavian people being generally peaceful....
You may be right. But one thing is certain: peace was easy to accomplish when the national identity was not being questioned from within as it is now under the pressure of immigration and culture-clashes. I'm not saying immigration is wrong (you have to watch out for the trolls!), I'm only saying that they do not have a long history of having open borders and, because of that, they may have a hard time adjusting to the political demands of the 21st century.
It's not for nothing that, when Europe became one political space, a lot of European intellectuals sought the help and wisdom of American and Canadian intellectuals. We had been dealing with this issue at least since American Independence, if not since the Brits took over the French colonies in Canada.
