Mistake in adjudication
Hey, In game #153265(Pax Europa -2) there was a wrong adjudication. Fleet Denmark supported Fleet north sea to Skag, Fleet Skag went to Denmark. BUT a unit can't break a supported move to it's area.
Thanks, Sun_Tzu

I will start
I read Le_Roi ,Leroy (Lee-roy), as in the name but it is actually Le_Roi ,as in The_King in French (Leh-Rwa)
and ottovanbis i read it like it is spelled not Otto Van Bis (mark)
Toby Bartels (361 D)

Since reading your work in threadID=444658, I've been pronouncing your name ‘Денис’ in my head with exaggeratedly palatalised (‘soft’) consonants.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
24 Nov 09 UTC
mine is mispelled or mispronounced by all, (myself included when i bother trying)

it is Ó Rathai, C - it is also irish, so the h makes the t silent
so it is pronounced "Ohh Ra-hi See"

- sorry i'm not too familiar with phoentic spelling (or describing how to pronounce things...)

Orathaic I just say yours "Or-a-THAY-ick" lol
Toby Bartels (361 D)

@ orathaic

So even though I know how to pronounce Irish, I was still pronouncing it wrong, since you didn't put in the spaces? Cruel!
denis (864 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
i say Or-thee-ac
and actually ottovanbis i pronounce i pronounce Ota-van-bis (soft s)
and Tony can you tell me how you pronounce Денис? it the Russian Spelling of my name and pronounces like Denise Dee-nees (soft s)
Toby Bartels (361 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
@ Денис

In English phonetics, ‘DYEH-nyees’ or ‘DYAY-nyees’. I think that I'm pronouncing the pure (IPA [e]) part of ‘е’ fairly correctly (assuming that is the correct sound), but I would pronounce the softening of the ‘д’ and ‘н’ just as if they were English ‘dy’ and ‘ny’ —exaggerated.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
So how many people pronounce my name as ‘Tony’? (I think that I saw ‘Tody’ here once too.)
denis (864 D)

Oops Toby sory and did you study Russian? or is the result of google translate? I'm russian and run out of way to misspell my name in english so ya
Dunecat (5899 D)

Dunecat, pronounced "I controls the spice, I controls the universe."
The Big Doak (100 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
The Big is obvious

Doak - Doe (as in female dear) plus a standard "k" sound. Rhymes with the english word "poke."

I'm interested to see if any of you thought it was anything different.
Geofram (130 D(B))

Too many people pronounce my name Gee-O-Fram when really it is correctly said as Jeff-Ram or my preference, Jeff-Rum.

Sorry, Toby. You made me remember a while back when I mispronounced your name when I overlooked it. : )

My name is pronounced: Stee-vun and then just add the C, WITH a dot at the end, all one word. : )

Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Nov 09 UTC
Mine's not actually typed correctly as there is a missing diacritic over the second A. When properly pronounced, the au in Draug sounds like the ou in doubt and nar is pronounced nair (like the ladies' hair removal product). But most people just pronounce it like car.
Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Nov 09 UTC
@Xapi - in Germany, they would likely pronounce it Ksapee. They always use the ks for x, even at the start of a word.
JECE (1248 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
My name should be pronounced "Heh-seh" (\ˈhe-se\) in Spanish. If you insist on pronouncing my name in English, it should be "Gees" (\ˈjēs\) or Gee-see (\ˈjē-sē\) or I guess maybe "Jay-Eee-See-Eee" (\ˈjā\ \ˈē\ \ˈsē\ \ˈē\). Anything else like Jesse or J-C or Geez is just plain wrong. J, E, C and E are my initials, by the way. (See http://mw1.m-w.com/help/MWOL%20Pronunciation%20Guide.pdf for pronunciation symbols)
Tru Ninja (1016 D(S))

people always mispronounce mine. they usually say it as a series of gurlgling and gasping noises. people have told me that its easier to pronounce if the throat isnt cut first but i have yet to test that theory.

@ the big doak--ive been pronouncing your name the (b-eye-g) doak. i will move to a short 'e' sound. i apologize.

Ang (just like in the cartoon Avatar: the last airbender)

That's all right, you're not the only one. (^_^)

I've never studied Russian as such, but I've always had an interest in alphabets (and phonology), so I know quite a few. Until now, however, I didn't realise that you were really Russian!

@ Xapi

I always pronounce ‘pizza’ like ‘peetsa’, so should I pronounce your name ‘tsapee’ or ‘sapeet’?

Actually, I've been pronouncing it ‘SHA-pee’, as if it were Aztec. I'm not sure why.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
24 Nov 09 UTC
While we're on the topic, both of my names are stressed on the first syllable.
