Orders are now generated via JavaScript rather than on the server. This'll make order entry quicker, decrease server load (which has been causing problems), is a big step towards a point & click map and is needed for some variants that are being developed (the server-side convoy code ran into a MySQL limitation with the large global variant for >14 fleet convoys), plus I've been meaning to learn JavaScript properly for a while

But it is new code, there are likely to be problems and problems with order code can be trouble. The server-side code hasn't changed, so if you disable the JavaScript you'll see no change, and orders are always going to be validated on the server, but make sure you really have entered your moves correctly by finalizing and double checking that they are getting saved.
Retreats and unit-placing orders aren't yet affected

Also this is going to replace order generation on the server as soon as possible, it's replacement code not just a UI improvement, so if it doesn't work for you let me know.
You can tell if it's not working if when you change an order it doesn't immidiately change other parts of the order.

Also entering a support hold order for one of your own units will change that unit's order to hold, entering a support move or convoy order for one of your own units will change that unit's order to move to wherever the support move/convoy is directed

I've tested it on FF 3.5, IE8, and Chrome, if you have problems let me know your browser version and the gameID and orders you entered.
Board pages may now be slow to load, since it has to load the game data, link it all together and generate the order options on your side now rather than the server. You may see the old fixed orders for a few moments before the JavaScript orders code overwrites it. The speed of the script will improve a lot, for now I just wanted to get it working and took lots of shortcuts

Hi, there is a bug if found. If you move an armee to a country where on of my armees at the moment is that i want to move away, i can't support the new armee into it.
Example: actual armees in moscow, livornia and warsaw. I want to move moscow to Ukraine and Livornia to Moscow, then i can't support from Warsaw the move from Livornia to moscow.

Another bug: If there is a chance that the move can be made by convoy, the orders stay with ".." and we can't finalize.

Been having this issue on Firefox. Made an image to show you what is happening:

Basically I was trying to do a mutual support hold in Rumania and Sevastapol. I was able to setup the first support hold as normal - but as soon as I created the second support hold the first disappeared. I would then try and recreate the first support hold again but as soon as it was created the second would disappear - hopefully the image explains better than I have!

I"m in firefox and I can't convoy a unit. As soon as I click convoy the drop down box disappeared. I'd rather not give out the number of my game though, since I dont want my enemies to know that I'm convoying.

The no menu thing fixed by finalising and then un-finalising, but now all my orders have

"The fleet at X move to X. No."

The "No" is beside each sentence.

I cannot change it back, since the dropdown menu just disappeared. Therefor there is no way to change the order of the fleet back to normal.

Hi. I already had some orders entered in gameID=13759. My orders for my Lon fleet have now disappeared and there are no options for Lon!

This is in both Chrome (3.0.195.27) and Firefox (3.0.14). Haven't tried IE8 yet. Tried finalising and un-finalising with no luck. I just get:

The fleet at London

with no drop down order options!

ah, now I can insert my convoy order, but some of my other orders have the word "no." written after it. And I can't finalize my orders too.

A minor tweak - Support hold and Support move should probably be Support Hold and Support Move

Multiple problems here:

I am playing England, and I am on Firefox 3.0.6
Cannot support Kiel Army into Berlin with Baltic, cannot support hold Spain Fleet with West Med.
I'm not going to give out any more information about my moves.

Maybe there is a setting I need to adjust? I checked Java setting, all enabled.

Hi, i can't set Support hold between two units in both ways the same time, for example from Munich Support hold to Bohemia and from Bohemia support hold to Munich.

Correct that:
The Berlin move is now ok (wrong order!!) but the support for Spain from West Med won't show up on screen

In the game; http://www.webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?postboxopen=1&page=381 the “GameMaster” has only partially corrected a glitch\program error by moving back the calendar; GameMaster: This game has been moved back to Autumn 1908 but did not fix the actual problem.

Hold support to non-holding unit?

Hi! Can a unit give hold support to a unit which was not ordered to hold?
eg A sup hold B, B moves to cut support. B is attacked, does the support from A hold?

Problems with support hold with these new entry codes.

I just logged on and (to give an example) the orders menu won't let me Support hold Munich to Berlin and vice versa for two armies.

Anyone else havign this problem? Solutions?
