"by convoy", "by land"?
Is there a reason moving an army to an adjacent coastal territory I get the option to go "by convoy" or "by land"? Is there a good reason one would convoy a unit between adjacent territories?

Phpdiplomacy game stats - best country to play
I ran a quick script out of curiosity to see which countries win the most on phpdiplomacy. Just got the "finished games" pages and parsed the HTML. Turkey turns out to be the best country! Full stats below the fold.

In the few games of Gunboat I have played, there always comes certain times when I think 'what the hell are you thinking?' or 'why would you do that'? So I'm wondering if anyone is up for a game of gunboat where you are required to keep a diary (sending a message to your own country) every phase explaining what you are thinking and why you are doing what you are doing.

After the game is over, everyone could post their diary as an EOG statement. If interested, post here, and let me know if you need to wait until after the holidays to start. It would be a small post, like 25.

I like press and fun commentary, but I also like the novelty of Gunboat games.

I'm in, but after the 25th when I will hopefully have enough to join in. I love gunboat and interpretting players intentions by their actions BEFORE they put you on the ropes.

An agreement.

I'm in too - I've played gunboat only once and as Russia... kind of a frustrating experience. So the idea of a diary certainly appeals to me.

I write my battle logs anyway. helps me realize that thinking something (nah he would never try and take Budapest from me, were allies) makes me lose SC's to you :P

oh and what else is fun is guess supporting, when you guess where people will move and support them in just to show good will. Its a fun tactic but makes people think your cheating.

Another Thread about PPSC vs WTA
The more I play on this site the more I wish I could get more WTA games going. I just really don't feel like PPSC games provide the Dip experience that is intended by the game.

They are still good practice, but WTA games are where its at in my opinion. Sure wish it was easier to get people to join them...

Problems with order resolutions
