Is everyone scared
To even bring up the neo Nazi terrorist attack in Charlottesville today, and the fact that the President made the weakest denunciation of terrorism ever, )except perhaps for his non response to the attacks in Quebec and Minnesota)

100% agree with you Ogion. These white supremacist terrorists are trump supporters - so he doesn't want to denounce them. He should just say "if muslims, nonwhites,. , homosexual etc people would just go away - we'd have no reason for these poor down trodden white men to be violent"

Yeah, the guy who attacked those people in Charlottesville is horrible. AS IS the alt-left antifa and blm 'counter-protesters' who used chemical agents and attacked people.

Please condemn violence on both sides. We need to come together and condemn violence on both sides like President Trump said. Trump's condemnation of violence on both sides was great. Finally a guy who will condemn violence on the right and the LEFT.

oh come on ND. This isn't about both sides --- most people on the right or left are not violent... today's story is about extremist hate group here ... who Trump didn't denounce
ND (879 D)
13 Aug 17 UTC
From Trump's twitter:

"We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!"

How is this not a condemnation of all violence on both sides of the political spectrum?
Bladerunners (809 D)

because it isn't about that. it is about a specific hate group that did something TODAY -- and he didn't denounce it.
Bladerunners (809 D)
13 Aug 17 UTC
i take it you are more RW in your beliefs - which is totally fine - i respect that and don't know anybody of my friends, family, acquintances who lean RW that are violent.

as a person of RW philosophy - you don't want to associate yourself with this hate group. denounce it - by itself - without saying "everyone shouldn't hate" ... yes of course that's true, but the message is lost against a specific hate group
ND (879 D)
13 Aug 17 UTC
(+1)
I've never heard of "RW" before. So, I have no clue what that is.

I absolutely condemn white nationalism and racism. I believe that President Trump did condemn that and also condemn other violent actions which did occur today. There was one major extremist attack today that was condemned, but there were also smaller attacks that occurred which extremist leftists did carry out. It's good that someone will condemn violence on all sides. You shouldn't dismiss violence on the left because it does exist and it did occur today. Still, the violence on the right was condemned and the violence on the left was condemned. I don't see what the big deal is with the President's condemnation of both sides.
ND (879 D)

Of course there is a reason he didn't denounce the white supremacists who have been instigating the violence and murdering people...

They're his base:

ND - people on the "left" who did any violence today are not what you think ... they aren't "left wing" ... they are "anti-hate' and went out to protest a nazi group. I'm sure there were people in the left, center, and right today who were out protesting the nazi group.
Ogion (3882 D)

Actually, only one group committed terrorist acts and attacked protestors. Look any who the injured are. Union folks and socialists

Of course, the right win is defending the neonazis. Surprised?

Most of us are students of history here, so picture this response to the invasion of Poland:

"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides. On many sides. It's been going on for a long time on our continent. Not Winston Churchill, not Neville Chamberlain. This has been going on for a long, long time."

It's worded like a statement of neutrality, but it's treating as equivalent two sides with a wide moral gap. It validates and implicitly endorses fascism.

I agree with ND. There was violence on both sides. The antifa also pepper sprayed many of the protesters. As for the Neo-Nazis, I've heard that the ACLU helped them win a suit to have their protest at the park. I'm not sure why the police came and declared it an unlawful assembly.

someone died today. i'm not surprised at the people in this thread, but i'll make it short. i'm not in a good mood:

@Ogion

interesting you call this white supremacism, but avoided the word black supremacism specifically back during the Dallas Sniper incident, especially after the twitter reactions by thousands talking about killing the pigs (and i remember pressing you on the matter). i agree with you objectively here that this is a horrifying act, but you're also a hypocritical cowardly snake who plays on double standards for ideology's sake.

@ND

you don't see the big deal with Trump? the piece of shit opened his remarks about the death talking about how he had helped the economy and people needed to remember that. this is not even being anti-PC, it's being anti HUMAN. and during his campaign, he constantly talked about roughing up the crowd. YES the political sphere has been getting more violent recently, NO trump is not the sole reason for it YES trump made it worse.

@ibadibam

I don't know you, but there's something you should know about me: I'm Polish in descent, and I had a large branch of my family tree cut down in the 1940s, and you using THAT as an example, and trying to push all the blame for modern political violence onto the right is pure shit, plain and simple.

Innocent Poles, many having to ride out on horseback, fighting and dying beneath Nazi tanks is NOT comparable to today. Not by a fucking mile.

if you think the right was been by miles more hateful and violent than the left (or vice versa), then you are in one hell of an echo chamber right now. political violence knows no single ideology, no single creed, no single flag, no single race. it's crept into nearly every narrative present today, and the mainstream democrat V republican spectrum has been made especially vile.

if you want to get into a discussion on which is worse, we can go at it all day, but neither side is near ANY measurably objective standard of good behavior

@Bladerunners: Wrong, the people labeled "counter-protesters" were elements of antifa, a radical domestic, anarchist, terrorist organization. They attack people all the time and they attacked people today. They don't have to get a permit to rally or march because the law doesn't apply to them. No one condemns them. But, they are a despicable terror organization on par with any of the white nationalists at this event.

-Multiple Times reminder: Trump and the whole admin condemned the violence today.-

@James: I disagree. 1) Trump isn't a piece of s***. 2) He condemned the violence
on both sides and there was violence on both sides. 3) This had nothing to do with
some of the remarks he made during the primaries which you are taking out of context. They are not applicable to this situation.

"Get him outta here" and "beat the crap outta him" don't need context to inspire violence if it comes from a mouth of authority

@Leon: "I'm not sure why the police came and declared it an unlawful assembly"

It's simple. The city of Charlottesville, which is a leftist stronghold, wanted to shut
down free speech. Sure, the speech coming from the white nationalists and neo-nazis is horrible, but they have a right to say and to assemble like anyone else. That's a guarantee in the bill of rights. The City of Charlottesville wanted to shut down a lawful assembly and free speech so they tried to move the rally. The 'alt right' protesters (protesting the removal of a confederate statue) filed an emergency injunction with the ACLU and won.

So, the next day the City declared a state of emergency and forced the protesters to leave the park/city. They were successful in shutting down free speech and lawful assembly.

This is another example of how leftists want to shut down anything they don't like btw like free speech when it doesn't fit their agenda. Following this, the protesters dispersed and Antifa and the counter-protesters ran through the city celebrating the shut down of a free speech/lawful assembly. They were not stopped by law enforcement because obviously the law doesn't apply to them because they are extremist leftist groups. That is when the car incident occurred (which should be condemned because it was horrific and violence should be condemned which President Trump did).

Then BLM and Antifa was allowed to continue rallying in the afternoon/evening. No one stopped them because that wouldn't be right or legal because they are on the left.

""Get him outta here" and "beat the crap outta him" don't need context to inspire violence if it comes from a mouth of authority"

-Except that has nothing to do with this because it happened a year and a half ago during the primaries and you are taking it completely out of context. Try again plz.

@ND

1. you ignored my point about him opening his response to the Charlottesville being about his economic achievements

2. this specifically has not been because of Trump's remarks, but the violent rhetoric across the isle has only been exacerbated by Trump, who seems to have no filter, no matter the situation.
JamesYanik (548 D)
13 Aug 17 UTC
also nah he is a piece of shit. but no regular shit, it's the type where you have been riding in a car all day and needed to go, and you had burritos earlier at the restaurant attached to the gas station that smelled funny, and you really can't hold it and then you spot some nasty old outhouse (probably crocodile infested) in some random ass field and you go in, your ass is on fire for a good 15 minutes, and then you walk bow legged back to your car, get in, turn the ignition on, and then 12 months later the damn thing is being sworn into office

1. It doesn't matter how you start you remarks as long as you get to the point, which he did.

2. Again, that is ridiculous.

3. the Piece of shit comment, you made? Equally ridiculous. At least we aren't living under President Hillary Benghazi, deletes her emails, Clinton. Or, Obama who started his political career in the house of the founder of the Weathermen Underground who tried to blow up the Pentagon and Congress. Get over it.
