It made me pretty uncomfortable sitting on the bench near it. It was a red cardinal
I wonder why it died, and if marxism had something to do with it. I decided to sit inside instead and listen to some modest mouse.

I blame Abraham Lincoln
He screwed over the south's economy without granting them an alternative, devastated their homeland and subjugated them to the union. There's no coincidence that these people's descendants elected Trump today. They have been disenfranchised and alienated and economically subjugate since before 1860. We are paying for the sins of our fathers.

The union should've bought the slaves' freedom the same way Britain did.

Clinton wins popular vote
Yet again, the will of the voters is denied. Republican gets fewer votes for the house, senate or presidency yet control all three. Yes, it is rigged

WardenDresden (239 D(B))
09 Nov 16 UTC
She's down in popular vote right now, and only wins it overall because of the polarized coasts, and city votes. There's something like 3% "wasted" popular vote on the democrat side based on where they live. It's a case of city populations asserting dominance over flyover country and suburbs which are Republican.

It's definitely not another 2000, but it is quite clear that she will earn more physical votes than Trump.

Rigged? It was rigged against Trump. Corporations, media, etc were all against him from the start. If they had given him the support they gave Clinton, he would have won even bigger.
Kakarroto (128 D)

"Corporations, media, etc were all against him from the start. If they had given him the support they gave Clinton, he would have won even bigger."

Hmm ... maybe ... maybe not. Trump is/was viewed as someone who goes against the establishment, the big ones, the rich. If the corporations and all the media was on his side from the beginning, I don't know if he could gather as much support as he did.

Never underestimate the underdog effect. As an example: In every Manchester United match, if you aren't a fan of ManU, you support their opponent emotionally (well, if you are interested in football in any way). In a brawl, the one who gets bashed in but tries his best to stay in the fight gets cheered on by some in the crowd. People can relate to that, people were in this situations where they are the underdog. That is why Trump is seen by many as 'one of us' (from their viewpoint) and got their support.

what is this thread?

That could be true Kakarroto. Still, you can't deny that Clinton had a lot of direct support from the media

@Flood, is it wrong for the media to support the defeat of a deeply, depply flawed candidate, if that's how things break?

Congratulations to leon and ND. People who feel as they do have outnumbered the rest of us, but I personally feel that that is an extremely flawed way to look at the country, and believe that we will all suffer as a result, with the focus on women and minorities, and that makes me very, very sad.

The fact is, in my opinion, and I believe that this will be proven as we watch what unfolds, that Trump was a less fit candidate to be president, even with Clinton's issues. The man is a mysogynist. He is a rapist. He is likely a rapist. He cares little for the interests of those who aren't himself. He's spent over a year campaigning without concrete vision of where he'll take the country. He'll be bad for America, and I think that was very clear, so I think it was appropriate for the media to reflect it. In the end it made no difference, so the people who disagree will get to see their man attempt to rule the country for at least four years, but I beg all of you to reconsider once you've seen where the country has gone. If this somehow works out, I'll gladly reconsider myself, but I don't see that happening, so I'm leaving it to all of you in the mean time.

(Text in " " by ghug to quote him)
"The fact is, in my opinion, and I believe that this will be proven as we watch what unfolds, that Trump was a less fit candidate to be president, even with Clinton's issues."

I don't know if it is true, some of his propositions sound like they will benefit a lot of people. But if I had a vote, neither of both would've gotten my vote. Both would've been too unreliable for me to vote, changing their views and 'beliefs' when it fits them best. (I mean, Trump was a Democrat and Hillary a Republican before ... in this polarized campaign I'm a bit astounded that no third party came even close, but that's a 2 party system I guess.)

"The man is a mysogynist."

Sorry, I didn't catch any story where he clearly was seen as a womenhater. Sure his "grab her by the ..." story was drawn out so people will see him that way, but just because he has (or had?) an active sexlife doesn't mean he hates women, more like the contrary.

Also the word mysogynist is used too quick nowadays. But that is a discussion for another time or thread.

"He is a rapist. He is likely a rapist."

Which is it? Is he or is he just likely one. Where are the lawsuits? (And what is your position on the lawsuits against Bill Clinton and Hillary's role in it?)

Also, like mysogynist, the word "rapist" isn't as strong anymore as, say, 10 years ago. It is too much used in the most minor circumstances.

"He cares little for the interests of those who aren't himself."

Yep, like many others. As I have seen it, like Hillary. (Why didn't you all just vote for Bernie.)

"He's spent over a year campaigning without concrete vision of where he'll take the country."

Oh, I think you are right on this one. Yet his opponent was so weak that he got there. Also, he understood better the concern of the people.

"He'll be bad for America, and I think that was very clear, so I think it was appropriate for the media to reflect it."

Sure, the media has a right to publicate what (they think) is correct. I believe Trump will not be the great saviour as many people think, but he isn't the devil or a stupid idiot as the democrats painted him either (well, he isn't a genius I believe). I hope there are some good things that make the world better though.

With Hillary, I believe the USA would have been worse off. I could be wrong, but I'm quite sure that that would've been the case. Especially her plans for the middle east were quite shocking.

@ghug - My point is that Trump won despite the active intentions of the media. He was clearly the favourite candidate today. He had the votes.

I've seen a breakdown based on race and gender. (White wimen ~52% voted for trump, for example) but nowhere is there a breakdown based in education or income.

Does anyone have this 'class' based info available?

Despite claims that this thread is lying, google now has Clinton up by 150 thousand vote. Both are below the 50% threahold as ~5 million voted for third and fourth party. (~4 million to Gary Johnson, and 1 million to Jill Stien, both well below where they were polling)

It's interesting to note that Trump won with fewer votes than Romney had when he lost in 2012. Too bad people don't care about the country enough to be bothered to mail a letter.

Your love for Hillary is astounding. You people honestly believe that you're more intelligent than Trump supporters? Your dumb stupid naive childish retarded minds were exposed the moment you fuckers failed the incorruptible, never-took-a-dollar-from-corporations, stood for gay rights when it was unpopular, voted against wars when they were popular Bernie Sanders.
