I disagree. The one on Lil Wayne was not a bait thread. It's an actual pop culture figure taking a stance on an issue. The "shit feminists say" thread can be construed as such, so your argument holds water there.

Look, you all know my stance. But here's a question. You want to "keep the forum more welcoming" which is all fine and good, but what are the metrics by which you're judging that? More people participating in the forum? Better retention of new players? A larger volume of posts in the forum?

Now, I know correlation /= causation, but all of those metrics, from my point of view, have gone down. There are less threads, there are less people on the site, and there are fewer voices in the forum. Perhaps it's time to review your policy, because it is not achieving the results it is meant to.

I mean, most people here don't remember what this forum used to be - and now CANT remember it because it was all deleted. But it was better than this.

The forum used to be a lot more fun.

Yes, it was more volatile at times, but heated discussion was what made it so fun. We had all kinds of views ranging from Putin to CM to krellin to bo_sox, and everything in between. We had wild personalities like HeWhoShallNotBeNamed and maple, and we had several people I don't even remember well anymore because they've been gone so long.

Forum now is pretty lame and tame.

Also, I think the last thing people explore in this site is the forum. They join because this site has the best reputation as a site to play diplomacy with the greatest. Then they might venture into an intriguing forum. At least this is true for me. But then again I enjoy the "bait threads" simply for entertainment.

It was more volatile and more active. I'd put up a thread in the morning and if I wasn't bumping it, it'd be deep into page 2 by dinner.
