well things are getting pretty bad here in Australia, especially for women wearing headscarves. Assaults, threats of beheadings and a knife wielding man walking into an islamic school. Personally, I know my mum and other people in the community have copped abuse for wearing a scarf, 99% of the time its some bogan. I don't really "look" or "act" muslim so no random personal attacks against me.

I'm fascinated by the way people like Nigee who have no faith themselves and who will mock Judaism or Christianity all day will bend over backward to defend Islam. I guess being a death cult with aspirations of world conquest will get you some respect among those with no moral center of their own.

Islamaphobia, meaning fear of Islam? Damn straight. I do fear a movement that has no tolerance for people who wish to quit adhering to it, no tolerance for people who don't adhere in the first place, and which seeks to spread its nihilistic, totalitarian and dehumanizing doctrine by force on every border it shares with other peoples. Look a the world: Chechnya, Pakistan, the Phillipines, Sudan, the Balkans, Israel, Nigeria. What do these places all have in common? They are all the borders of the Islamic world, and they are all places that bleed.

Chechnya and the Balkans are places where Muslims were recently slaughtered en masse by Orthodox Christians. You could say that religious borders in general are places that bleed, but then your attack on Islam loses some of its power, doesn't it?

@dipplayer2004

What on earth? Aspirations of world conquest? Have you seen Jewish and Christian scripture? Or most religions, in fact? At least Islam has some level of official protection of non-combatants of other religions, not that some nutcases care.

Death cult? Pretty much any religion that believes in life after death, or anything like it, can be classed as a death cult, since it discourages fear of death.

No tolerance for quitters, no tolerance for non-believers, nihilistic, totalitarian and dehumanizing. That is a lot of bile in a single sentence. It is also singularly false. Islam does not attack those who leave the faith, and is a lot more liberal about other religions in theory than most others (a byproduct of being a lot newer than some of the others), nihilism is nowhere to be found in the Koran, totalitarianism is prevalent in a lot of religions, since religion holds power over people, making it a fun tool for absolutists, and it is no more dehumanizing than almost every religion I've seen.

Chechnya is a place where Muslims have been massacred recently. Pakistan is a place where they have been massacred about as recently, although there it went both ways. Philippines, don't know the history there. Sudan is a horrible place, but that's because of tribalism and poor choices by European powers with regards to borders. The Balkans are a region where Muslims have been massacred just 30 years ago, this time with almost no method of fighting back, it was literally a genocide. How can you blame the Muslims for existing? Are you just a horrible person? Israel/Palestine was a reasonably stable place before Europeans decided to plant a foreign community into populated land, Nigeria is horrible for a lot of reasons.

Your arguments are either false, or can be summed up as "How dare Muslims try to live somewhere? They deserve genocide!" which is about as convincing as the reasons for the genocide of the Jews under Nazi Germany, or Germans after WW2, or the Rwanda genocide...

Lastly, I am deeply offended at the rejection of a persons moral fiber on the grounds of lack of "faith". If what you spout is "faith", then I am glad to be an atheist. As for mocking of Judaism or Christianity, I don't see grounds for any objections to doing so. Either the moral integrity of the faith will get it through the mocking unharmed, or it deserves to be mocked.

Dip you are truly a moron ..... pick up any history book and read, or why not just ask someone about the Gulf Wars because you are so thick as shit I feel I am wasting my time debating with you, what was the score in the Gulf Wars - Muslims 200,000 deaths Non-Muslim 25,000 deaths. I'm making the numbers up but you get the picture.
Did you read anything about Palestine recently you half-wit .... open your eyes and your brain.

They're too powerful to need such desperate measures. I recently read an analysis showing that terrorism has been used throughout history in all kinds of settings, regardless of religion, and with just one common element: it was perpetrated by powerless people with nothing left to lose.

ssorenn - so atrocities are more acceptable if they are better planned, and of course if you send people a text telling them you're going to blow up their house, that is the sort of thing medals should be awarded for, I know what you're saying man

" Muslims 200,000 deaths Non-Muslim 25,000 deaths"--this maybe be true, but is unfair in the way you pose it. They knew(Iraq) that a war with the west couldn't be won, and they still put their people out there to die

Acts of terrorism around the world last year - 14000.
Acts of gun violence in the USA last year - >30000.

Target one, target the other. If not both, then neither. So complicated.

Being pushed 25km in a wheelchair
This crazy Dutch kid just grabbed me and made me sit in a wheelchair. He looked pretty crazy and I figured he was suffering from an overdose of earth radiation so I didn't resist. He then proceeded to run 25km over some very bumpy terrain, with me in the chair, despite my increasingly vocal protestation.

Running 25km, pushing someone in a wheelchair..?
It's one of those crazy thoughts I had. I figured I'd at least get myself informed. I'm now allowed to try it according to the council that matters, although I'd be forced to start in the back and stuff like that.
So I already have the green light in the bank, but can I even do this? Finishing time registration ends after 3 hours, so I guess I'd really want to run it within 3 hours. Possible?

2014 Webdiplomacy Tournament
I will start taking signups for the tournament. Here's how it will be different:

There will be a cash buy-in. The amount depends on the number of people that can commit (and buy-in) to the tourney. If I can get at least 25 players, the buy-in is $10. This would allow me to use the proceeds to purchase plaques for the top 3 places and best country awards. The remainder ($50-$100) would go to the site as a donation for allowing us to put together this tournament.
