Why do atheisms hate Christians so much
As I reflect on the REASON for the SEASON.........I have to ask myself why it is that atheisms despise Christians so much. Don't they know. That they celebrate CHRISTmas like everyone else??....Why cant they just.Accept God.??

We would like to see players who are not just excelling in this game, but are willing to risk a substantial part of their points to get a chance to enter the exquisite club of ours.

... who knows, maybe you will be the next biggest points winner on this site, as it is time to dethrone the current holder of this title, after 18months. Oh, yeah, that would be me, so fasten your seat belts before jumping off the cliff! ;)

Please feel free to join gameID=131940

Merry XSmash everyone!

come on guys, all you need is to join and make it to the draw, then you're going to be 4k points richer. piece of cake ...

Only 1 spot left. So, who has the self-confidence to take the leap?
Barn3tt (41969 D)

Congrats to Split for busting through 60,000 D. :) Two big draws recently.
I remember when MM's point total looked ridiculously unattainable.
rokakoma (19138 D)
26 Dec 13 UTC
I remmber too, and yes Split did a great job in both games, however I'm not happy by the fact, you are further away from me now Barnett. I hope you cannot cheer you 30k+ points for too long ;)

Don't take it personal, I love how you play, I just don't like the fact you are ahead of me ;D
rokakoma (19138 D)
26 Dec 13 UTC
And if I'm correct, Split has about additional 5000 D docked by the mods ...

obviously the MM Barn3tt refers to is NOT ME
I'm still in self imposed suspenson for playing in a game that Draugnar won
the HORROR the HORROR
rokakoma (19138 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
:D :D Draugnar won a game? Wow, I missed on that one, Santa came early for some it seems.
And about MM, yes, we all know Barn was referring to MichiganMan ;)
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Dec 13 UTC
That's the won MjrMitch is still reeling from.
Draugnar (0 DX)

And I do have 10 wins to my name out of only about 200 games. So I win 5% of the time.
rokakoma (19138 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
nice job draug, I bet it took a hell lot of time/diploming to pull it off. I'd really love to see you moving up in the food-chain, so keep up the good work ;)
Lopt (102 D)

How much I wouldn't give to be able to play one game with really decent players.... only it will probably take me ages to get till that many points :/
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Dec 13 UTC
Thanks Roka. Although, points mean little to me. I'm more proud of my GR which is in the top 100 (well, I actually *am* #100 right now :-) ).
rokakoma (19138 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
Draug I know, it's exactly the opposite for me, I prefer points. Also, in gunboats, games DO differ as pot size rises. Players play differently, and suddenly all the moves make sense. I cannot really describe the feeling, but I still remember how I enjoyed my first 7k pot game, when I knew I can trust my opponents they won't do stupid things because they have experienced the consquences of bad moves and learned from them in their earlier games.

The main reason I refuse to play small pot, is not because of the points, but because I know stupid moves will not happen (like italy attacks austria in 1901 spring)

Lopt, if you want to improve, I strongly suggest you to forget live games and move to 24-36hours games ONLY.
MajorMitchell (1874 D)

Merry Christmas Draugnar
maybe if I'd been in that game from the start things would have been different
& you never captured any of my sc's.
However, it was and remains a Horrible outcome
somehow I've been damaged by the experience
Life will never be quite the same again
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Dec 13 UTC
Maybe that's why I don't play gunboat. I never have thousands of points to risk in a gunboat game and I prefer chatting up my enemy and making him think I am his friend as I stab him in the back repeatedly and pour vinegar and salt in the wounds. :-)
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Dec 13 UTC
LOL! Glad I could contribute to your mental illness there, Major. And Happy New Year to you!
Lopt (102 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
I agree with Rok, here, low pot games sucks because you got stupid partners. I want to do real diplomacy talks with real people and play the game as it is supposed to be, but that requires a certain rationale and the will to win from all participants.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
27 Dec 13 UTC
Sure is a bitch when you can't verbally dictate what you want your opponents to do, huh?
rokakoma (19138 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
Draug, I can understand that, I hate gunboats under 700 D, I get really annoyed but the stupidity there. Over 3500 D even when I lost, I'm happy, because I get outplayed, and not some idiot threw the game to my opponent.

However, I'm just to lazy to do all the press for that in a FP game. I'm not good with people I guess.
Draugnar (0 DX)
27 Dec 13 UTC
More to the point, y2k, when you can't sweet talk them into doing your dirty work so they get attacked and you sit back and plot everyone else's demise. Unfortunately, my follow through sucks. I win or draw 50% of the time, but 90% of those wins and draws are just draws.
rokakoma (19138 D)
27 Dec 13 UTC
Draug, winning and making it to the draw are 2 completely different skills. I'm quite bad at surviving games, but once I survive I can pull off a win. 33% of my win+draws are wins. That's not an accident I guess. But as I said, these are different skills. I have to improve a lot how to survive games, and get 9SCs at least to secure my draw. In your case it seems you have to improve more in how to win once you have secured your survival.

Not sure where your getting the mental illness thing from Mr D
No it's more a "willingness to engage" thing,
an impairment of my excitement at each new day.
For example, Kylie Minogue is single again. The old MM wouldn't have hesitated,
he'd be hanging about Kylie's Mum's pad with flowers for Ms Kylie.
But after that bloomin' game, well, I can't be bother'd chasing Kylie
what's the point she'll only choose some dopey foreigner, like most of the duds she's had before.....even if she chased me I'd probably blow her off now... probably tell her to try Draugnar

that uneasy feeling when the two other members of you alliance talk for half an hour
is there a way to recreate this feeling for online diplomacy? i was thinking of an extra area that shows who sent how many messages to the others. maybe it's more a thing for vdip, i don't know. just came to my mind, but someone's probably had that idea before.

my mexican neighbors are screaming at eachother right now in spanish.
Reminds me of a Facebook post of a sign that said "For Lease" with a phone number after it ("To Let" for my UK/irish friends). The number was spray painted river and written above was "navidad". Hahaha forlease navidad. Gotta love the taggers with the Christmas spirit! Who, I just heard a gunshot! They're probably just celebrating the birth of our lord, but I should take cover just the same. Out!
