Who Else...
Watches series with really bad acting, one-dimensional characters, and a plot that is the same every episode and has become a industry standard (hot chick has a spicy job, partner with which she exchanges humor below the level of Hades' toilet, boss who is watching over them as a paternal figure, nothing to laugh at, nothing to cry at just a major cringe every time a line gets spoken with flat faces)?

What's the deal with live matches?
OK, I'm new to this but as soon as the 5 minutes run out and we move to the next turn, there are only 30 seconds on the clock! It's annoying.

Trying to get to grips with the game in general.Just played a few no messaging anonymous games. Yet a clear pattern developed whereby different players would support other player's units that were in no danger at all. Is a common type of messaging e.g. ID132538#

Just The Tip
I'm curious how other people tip, especially in other countries, where it may not be as common.

In the Northeast of the USA:

Restaurant: 10-20% Depending on the service and my mood. Rarely $1, but the service has to be abysmal.

Barber: 20-25% Less if it isn't my usual barber.

Bar: $1 per drink. Often quite a bit more if I've been drinking a lot.

Tip Jar: Spare Change. Usually for things like Ice Cream Stands. I rarely tip at restaurants that don't seat you.

Tipping does not exist in Australia. I'm glad for that.

Oh, and I don't tip on the tax, of course.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
24 Dec 13 UTC
A few more:

Delivery: 10%

Bellhop: $1 per bag Boy was that awkward as hell the first time I went to NYC.

Taxi: Rounded up to the nearest whatever.

You don't tip strippers?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
24 Dec 13 UTC
Haha

I've never been to a strip club, actually. What is considered proper in that situation?
15-20% for many things, post-tax.
COTW (836 D)

It depends on how lonely and pathetic you are. I've only been dragged there a couple times on group occasions, but I've seen some people drop some serious dough.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))

You tip on the tax, THM?
Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Dec 13 UTC
15% lunch 20% dinner, always post tax. Extra 5% during holidays and double on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve and day (don't go out on Christmas Day). I deserve the right to increase or decrease depending on the level of service. I once left a 100% tip at Waffle House on Christmas Eve at 11pm.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Restaurant: I tip 15% on bad service, 20-25% on good service. Your server has nothing to do with your food; there's no sense punishing them (or rewarding them) over that. You'll make someone's day, though, if they do a good job and you give them 25%.

Delivery driver: 15% if no tip is included in the bill. Minimal if there is.

Cab: 10% if I feel like my life was at stake, 15% if the drive was both efficient and safe. Same goes for valet, though I've only had to tip a valet guy once.

Barber: Not my problem, at least not yet.

Tip jar: If they sing, my tip automatically gets higher. Even if they suck, it's hilarious.

Bus driver: A dollar, maybe, for a long trip (I'm thinking Megabus from Indy to Chicago here).

Oh man, everyone tipping post-tax. I may have been doing something very wrong.
Yup, post-tax. I don't distinguish between lunch and dinner. The restaurant already adjusts the prices based on time of day, and I generally still have the same expectations of the server.

"Your server has nothing to do with your food; there's no sense punishing them (or rewarding them) over that."

Right, I don't punish them for bad food. I do punish them if they're a dick, though.

Wow. I did stints in both Canada and the USA and always felt that service was worse no matter what tips the server or driver, or anyone got. Expecting tips means that if you and the person giving service don't 'click', service goes down the tubes. And it means that the service person works for the tips, not for their wage.

I know wages are bad in tip-expecting countries. I also was a server at a restaurant. You expect tip. You need it. Very very seldom will you meet servers who are anything but servile in a typical family style restaurant. They come incessantly to check how things are, if you need more serviettes, water, anything.

If you see my water glass empty, don't ask, fill it. Don't ask me questions all the time. I want you to disappear, not dance for me. I'm there to eat or drink, not to watch your show.

I would like to expect that people can do their jobs without expecting petty cash rewards. And being polite does not mean jumping around like an ex-leper.

EDIT for the above: I should say: worse than the service I get in Sweden or Norway or Japan. Not worse without qualifier.

Except for strip clubs.

I like to leave a penny with a note that says: "Tip: Get a better profession"

Actually, restaurants, I rarely leave less than 15%, typically 20% or a pinch more if the waitperson was exceptional.

The ladies that trim my golden locks? Usually $5 on a $15 fee.

Also northeast US.

Restaurant - flat 20% standard, post-tax. Breakfast gets bumped up because the bill is less and they are doing the same work. Have gone as low as 10%, but thats for someone who spilled multiple glasses of red wine.

Bar - generally $1/2 per drink.

Haircut - 30%, but Ive been going to the same guy for years and he throws in a shave for free.

Cabs - Im unfair here, since I live out in the suburbs and the cabbie is forbidden from picking up a ride til he returns to the city. Ordinarily, then, its a $50 fare with a $25 tip. Which goes to show how often I take a cab.

Delivery food -- about 15% of the tab. Generally a random happenstance to be whatever the no change bill is.

Moving/construction/laborers - $15/pp/hr.

If service is good, 20% before tax. If it's shitty, it will be less depending on how bad the service was.

For pizza deliveries, usually $5, but I don't usually get pizza delivered.

Tip jars I usually don't. Maybe a few coins thrown in, depends.

I don't have to tip for haircuts because my sister is a hairdresser :P

Northeast US btw.
