Somewhere with cheap flights and hotels would be good. Also it helps to have a good local diplomacy club to help fill in games.

I oppose Chicago, merely because it's already a national center of diplomacy and hosts annual tournaments as it is.

My opinion should be discounted by the fact that I don't know for sure I can make it, though. Nashville could be good however. Obviously, I would also like to propose Dallas/Fort Worth, home (soon) to the world's largest airline AA, and the largest US domestic carrier SWA, and home also to very cheap hotels and lots of available space.

Well Tenn could be in, Chicago since I'm here, any other takers from the US.. sorry but international travel is a bit much for me on a barista's income.

I'd take Dallas into consideration if enough people would go.. also another place from the east coast would be fine. But if we go out of Chicago I may need help with someone who's local to the area we stay at like Abge said.

Los Angeles? We have a big airport . . . and really expensive hotels (also some cheap ones where people end up dead in water tanks on the roof), terrible traffic, and freeway onramps that are impossible to find.

Oh I'd probably do something like the Inland Empire versus LA itself. Cheaper airport, cheaper hotels and a half hour from Disneyland. On top of the fact I grew up there so I still know people there/ know the area pretty well.

Yeah, but ONT is a small airport that won't have as many connections. If people fly into LAX (or BUR, or SNA), they're going to need to rent a car to get to the IE. It seems like the ideal site wouldn't require all travelers to rent cars to get there.

Chicago is nice because people have the option of ORD or MDW, and there's easy public transportation to/from either, and cheap hotels near the airports.

I'd be up for any city with an airport served by Southwest Airlines. That includes Dallas or Nashville.

Sorry, CF, I didn't realize you were organizing it. If that's the case, I withdraw my opposition to Chicago. Obviously the organizer has a lot of say in this.

I still think DFW could be good, though, but again, my opinion should carry little weight.

I'll propose Las Vegas, which came up in another thread. Or Portland. Or San Francisco/Oakland.

ONT is about 8 miles from my house, so that would be my first choice, but since I know that like all my first choices it has no chance of winning, I second the nomination of Las Vegas.

@THM LA is also expensive. IE a little less so but really I'm pretty flexible with the wants of the community. Just wanna keep it to the US for ease. And to a city that someone is familiar with if it's not Chicago or So Cal.
