What is the point in "Anonymously + Without chat"?
As far as I understand "Diplomacy" game is all about negotiation. But I see many games here with no chat - what is the point?

This Time on Philosophy
This is NOT a thread about religion. No affirming Jesus as divine-ergo-correct, we're just comparing philosophies. If you want to argue the miracles are somehow parabolic--ie, that the Bread/Loaves one demonstrates a tenant of his philosophy-fair game, but no arguing on whether or not he "did it." So let's play the Jeffersonian game and just compare arguably the West's two most important philosophic influences--Socrates or Jesus, who has the better life view?

so... for those official theorists i think i can still give you more on 9/11 because this one obviously did have high ranking american official involvement and because it was so significant to the world. and it shows how coverups are possible that involve academia, government and the media working on concert.

You are mistaken YJ - the argument presented was that from the standpoint of *institutional* racism, it is dead in America. I.e. we have all the laws and such in place that it is illegal to discriminate in the work place based upon race, gender, creed, etc. So from that standpoint, we have eliminated racism.

As for individuals, certainly racism exists AND ALWAYS WILL.

I doubty even you *(especialy you!! lol)* want to live in a society where individual thoughts and actions are controlled by the government. So in the US, we are free to be assholes if we so choose, and say horrible things on Twitter (and yes, those people are raging assholes)....but that does NOT mean that the US *from the stand point of institutions and laws* is racist.

they are two different things...and you are smart enough to understand that.
krellin (80 DX)
16 Sep 13 UTC
And if you are concerned about racism and people calling out people of different "origin" (Indian, etc.) Europe is a fucking *cesspool* of racism, and the Middle East is even worse...

I dare say as awful as individual actions int he US make the country appear to be, we are on still par or better than the rest of the world.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
16 Sep 13 UTC
"As for individuals, certainly racism exists AND ALWAYS WILL." - so if those individuals hold jobs in the current education system, or police force, or judicial system, and bias the results of those institutions, will that not still affect the performance of persons of race within the system?
buzfed xDD dr
krellin (80 DX)
16 Sep 13 UTC
@orathaic - NO, this does not mean the INSTITUTION is racist...it means the INDIVIDUAL is racist. The INDIVIDUALS need to be punished...and THE LAWS EXIST TO PUNISH THEM if caught and convicted.

Here...we'll put it like this: Aaron Hendandez is a killer...Not all New England Patriots are killers. Aaron Hernandez was caught and, if proven guilty, will be punished. Not all New England Patriots will be proven guily and punished.

See how that works.

You moronic Liberals that judge society by the actions of an individual are just baffling.

Tell me, in school, do you demand to take the lowest grade to equate yourself with the worst kid in class? Or do you stand on your own merits, and ask to be judged as an individual?

I assume you want to be judged on your own work...so why, then, do you demand that society be judged by the actions of a relative *few*, instead of praising society for the better behavior of *most* people...because *most* people are not racist in their everyday behavior.

I just don't understand why Liberals always want to see the worst of everything....what a miserable bunch of sots you must be...

krellin (80 DX)
16 Sep 13 UTC
NO...orathaic...society is NOT defined by the actions of individuals.

Let me play the game with you AGAIN, since you are so stoooooo-pid.

Orathaic...are ALL New England Patriot football players MURDERS? Yes or No....we'll start there. Please keep in mind that ONE NE Patriot football player is accused of murder, and most likely is guilty. Assuming Hernandez is guilty, ARE ALL NE Patriot football players murderers?

Once you have answered this we will continue your lesson. (Moron...)

krellin, you clearly have a brain, and you clearly are capable of using it. You are also hilarious, intentionally or not. But I digress. Maybe you should use it to consider whether 'liberal' is so bad. (If this is performance art, trolling, anything like that, congratulations, by the way)
krellin (80 DX)
16 Sep 13 UTC
phil - I am a 78% troller...but within all my trollery is a smidgen of truth...

How's that.

Liberal is bad for a god-awful huge variety of reasons, first and foremost, though, is the rampant hypocrisy inherent to the typical beliefs held by a Liberal....but that requires an entire multi-volume tome to define.

Suffice it to say that any moron that tries to paint society with the brush of one individuals actions is a fool...and probably a hypocrite...or else he would have turned himself over to the Feds already for his crimes-against-humanity by way of guilt-through-being-American...

Orathaic killed Matthew Shepard....enough said. Sentence...life in prison.

Slink away with my tail between my legs? When that is your logic? You know society is made of individuals rigth? I don't see the point in addressing your position, it is unassailable stupidity! I can't make it to your level of pathetic. Your fortress of 'logic' intact, i shall 'slink' :)

We'll try again, Orath...

Answer the question so we may continue your education.

Hey krellin, if several other Patriots up and murdered people, I'm pretty people would start considering that there might be an institutional problem within the football team.
krellin (80 DX)
17 Sep 13 UTC
ghug....BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, DID IT. Thank you for demonstrating through your idiocy that currently we do NOT consider all NFL players murderes because of the actions of one person.

Moron...
krellin (80 DX)
17 Sep 13 UTC
(+1)
But...I will point this out...ghug and orathaic ARE racists...since THEY adhere to the idea that society is guilty for the actions of a few, they are admitting that they themselves are racist. Possibly this is some twisted way of assuaging their own guilty consciences....perhaps they are truly racist and don't like that aspect of themselves, so they see this as an out (society is racist, so it isn't my fault...)

I exclude myself from such philosophy...I am responsible for my own actions, and do not accept the guilt of others individual behavior.

Sorry racist orathaic and racist ghug...I still insist you are guilty for your own racism, not that of asshole tweeters.

And krellin, you've actually just proved my point. Murder is not widespread on the patriots, as it is confined to a single individual. Racism, however, is quite widespread, and, as it is shared by many individuals, it has become institutional.

I'm not even going to dignify your claims that arguing this point is racist with a response, as any idiot can see how fallacious that argument is.
damian (675 D)
17 Sep 13 UTC
"I'm not even going to dignify your claims that arguing this point is racist with a response, as any idiot can see how fallacious that argument is."

I think his point isn't that the argument is racist. But, that if you believe society (as it stands) is a racist institution, then you are declaring yourself to be a racist, as a product of society.
damian (675 D)
17 Sep 13 UTC
Of course if he is arguing that the argument itself is racist I can think of no adequate defence of that position. Suggesting that we live in a racist culture isn't a racist argument.

Though I stand by my earlier statement, that suggesting that we live in a racist culture, means associating yourself with racism.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
17 Sep 13 UTC
'I think his point isn't that the argument is racist. But, that if you believe
society (as it stands) is a racist institution, then you are declaring yourself to
be a racist, as a product of society.'

Except where i claim there are institutional problems in the US (and they have a long historical and cultural background) yet i am not american or 'a product of american society' - this might mean that i have less to say about american culture, but it also means i'm not as blinded by the limitations of self-analysis. Still Krellin does try...
ghug (5068 D(B))
17 Sep 13 UTC
I get the argument that he's making, but that doesn't make it true.

Society as a whole is racist because a large enough portion of its individuals are racist to indoctrinate (or at least attempt to indoctrinate) others with their racism and act upon it in the various positions in society they hold. That does not mean that everyone is racist.
Draugnar (0 DX)
17 Sep 13 UTC
So how many racists does it take to male society racist? That is an intellectually lazy bullshit argument. When society has laws in place to stop institutional racism, society ceases to be racist. Any argument to the contrary is complete and utter bullshit.
