Just an idea, but it would be helpful to get a warning if the thread you are posting to has had new posts since you last viewed it. Something like, "there are new posts, do you still wish to post this?" Even better if it shows you what the new post says.
"Okay, quick question. The Internet. That's the one with e-mail, right?"

The full editor does this when you request a preview.
