American Press

So I was interested in trying a press game of the Empire variant. I started the game with this title because there were no public games open of this type, but so far no one has signed up. Are there certain parameters that would be more appealing?

I won't try to speak for anyone else here, but I personally never sign up for these bigger variant games unless the turns are at least 48 hours.

Thanks for the input. This game does have 2 day movement phases. Do you think that builds/retreats should also be 2 days?

Provide a link for the game. +1 on the preference for 48 hours or more. As to build / retreat, I prefer it there as well. It would be awesome if people would Ready on those phases, which they never do, but the problem is that with a larger number of players, shorter clocks tend to cause people to accidentally just not log on and make moves. Chances are better with 2 days plus.

(Note: "people" here includes me. I usually check every couple of hours when I'm awake, but sometimes I miss a weekend day, which is too much on shorter clocks.)

I'll probably join your game. I like that map and days for most phases is enough for me. Unless it is an anonymous game, in which case I may or may not be the other signup when there are two. ;-)

Hopefully, that does the trick. I hadn't tried it before. I will change the other phases if I can.
