Melania Trump, the Abortionist

#1 Post by brainbomb » Fri Oct 04, 2024 8:22 pm

Melania Trump has declared that she now fully supports a womans right to an abortion and that Abortion is a right that should be gauranteed to all women. In other news her husband is running for President and the poll numbers arent going well among women. Im sure these two things are completely unrelated.

Pro Life supporters of Trump can breathe easy as Melania wont be having any abortions probably anytime soon. And this may even lead to trumps 4th divorce which may be inevitable anyway once hes in prison. Good news is you can keep voting for Trump; hes very clearly pro life; and will continue to pack the courts with anyone he can find who is pro life. Assuming thats your main hot button issue!

Abortion is healthcare.
unfortunately, that's its own issue (universal healthcare).

A developed nation that cannot provide universal healthcare is doing something wrong. Healthcare should not be a for-profit service.

That is part of the issue, not CEOs generally but health insurance companies, medical device companies, pharma companies, for-profit hospitals, the American Medical Association and the entire medical industry built around these companies and professionals. It's a significant part of the U.S. economy at this point.

Another part of the issue is the R-word. No one in this country wants to talk about rationing healthcare. Not if it means I might not be able to get that hip replacement at age 90, or have a doctor I can talk to on a Sunday if I want to. In countries with universal healthcare there is a screening system to decide what healthcare will be provided, and what healthcare won't be provided because it doesn't meet the government's cost-benefit analysis.

It is also worth noting that the USA is moving -- incredibly slowly, but moving nonetheless -- toward universal healthcare. Forty of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. have now adopted Medicaid expansion and receive the Affordable Care Act subsidies, and ten states have less than 5% of their populations uninsured. https://www.vox.com/policy/23972827/us-aca-enrollment-universal-health-insurance
