Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
The 5*n part of that post was what confused me as it almost sounds like a nightly allowance. I understand bulletproofing town is one option to gain money but am still not 100% about whether they get a nightly allowance?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:17 pmDo you think Macca could be pretending not to know things the mafia would certainly know by now?seth24c wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 1:33 pm5 roles lol. 90
Recruit (10)
Restless spirit (-25)
[those two are good, the rest I picked just to fill remaining space with minimal cost]
Fruit vendor (-24) [I thought I read somewhere that you could "sell fruit" or something; it was a source of income]
Neighborizer (-24) [cheap, and seems to do something]
Public Vanilla (-24) [also cheap, and it's not bad]
Voyeur (-26) [cheap]
A lot of this is just to get those first two, which, in my opinion, are the coolest.
Your own response also indicated not knowing things the scum would know:
Do you now know how the mafia earn money?seth24c wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:33 amUh I’m just glad I didn’t have to choose. Looks like the extra recruit is an obvious choice and that takes most of the budget. Other than that it’s probably keep away from town more than anything. Does scum gain money as the game goes on? How do they get out of the negative if they were to go negative?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:04 amApparently I was not clear, I would like everyone to please answer this question:
What would you have chosen if you were scum and were making the decision for the mafia?
I think it is possible macca may not know but it is so over the top I wonder if it isn’t an act.

Of course he is....he's bozo.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:35 pmHey Bozo, are you keeping track of the responses to your survey?
And he just hired me as a third PR agent.

Re: M61 - Jamie is not the GM - Game Thread
I'm not the GM but this has been discussed. They get no "new" funds. The only way they can generate credit is by using the options that create credit in the setup, such as creating bulletproofs, etc. They have no ongoing new income.

Re: M61 - Wrong again, Fluminator! - Game Thread
I agree there are some roles unlikely to be town, but I do not think gladiator is one of them. However, I do not think a mass claim is the best option now, anyone who is about to be the DK can claim their role and argue why it is unlikely to be a scum role.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:33 pmBozo and Dargorygel both said (in reference to Bozo's survey) that they would select Gladiator as one of the Mafia picks if they were on the Mafia team.Fluminator wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:22 pmNo one becomes straightup townclear but for example, the gladiator is almost definitely town because what scum team would want that or be afraid by town having that.
So, immediately it is clear that the basis for your massclaim idea is flawed.

Aye... but also I recall a couple of people asking questions that seem to be wanting to know who was, for instance stumpy? I do not have time to look back.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:19 pmIs this a response to the idea of mass claiming?dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:09 pmSince scum already know each and ever role in play, all they lack is knowledge of who ended up with what. This makes any push to label people to role highly suspect, yes?

Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
I also advise NOT crumbing. Scum know which particular PR's are out here. (It is why I am suspicious of teacon's talk about a softing of Fruit Seller, earlier.)
Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
These kinds of setup questions are so suspect to me. If you really didn't know you could read the setup and have an answer much faster than waiting for bozo to answer. And you don't seem like the lazy type, so I'm not loving this "I don't know how scum mechs work" angle from you.seth24c wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:33 amUh I’m just glad I didn’t have to choose. To muddy the waters? But then I imagine if they claim something, the person who actually has that role could call bullshit, play their role at night, maybe?
But in this case, we don't know what roles have been distributed, so how could we know?

Re: M61 - Everyone agrees that Flum is wrong - Game Thread
Exactly. Flum saying "scum would not choose this role" just engages in a whole load of WIFOM where they might have chosen *exactly* that role in the hope of gaining towncred because "scum wouldn't choose that role".bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:37 pmGladiator is a cheap role that the mafia could want to prevent a town from using it to challenge them. Also, they could use it to seem likely town, possibly even challenging a scum to pass off whoever survives as a town clear.Fluminator wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:22 pmNo one becomes straightup townclear but for example, the gladiator is almost definitely town because what scum team would want that or be afraid by town having that.
Fluminator's massclaim idea at best creates one townclear whilst exposing the best town PRs to NK, and at worst exposes the strong town PRs and produces an enormous fog of WIFOM which Mafia can take advantage of to cause confusion and hide inside.

I hadn't put much thought into it, but I would probably do something dumb like going super far negative to get really good roles and a fouth member and day chat and stuff. High risk, High reward.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:12 pm@bo_sox

Can you please tell me what choices you would have made if you were scum and were making the decision for the mafia?
If not, can you please tell me why you can't or don't want to answer the question?
What's funnny is, I was thinking and I KNEW you would be doing some crazy meta-mechanical-analysis of the pregame purchases lol

I believe "n" is just the number of players in the game, and that the only way to regain money is to no-kill or make town BPs.seth24c wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:38 pmThe 5*n part of that post was what confused me as it almost sounds like a nightly allowance. And also, some roles are duplicates. There's more than one Faith Healer for instance.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:45 pmTo muddy the waters? But then I imagine if they claim something, the person who actually has that role could call bullshit, play their role at night, maybe?

I'm still working on catching up... I made a decision to ignore the game until after pre-game since it seemed like a waste to talk much before I even knew my role.dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:12 pmI'll change my vote from HR, since it was only there because he surprised me by his silence.
I am going to pick a low hanging fruit, though. Low posters early on are in my scum pool.
Chaqa also had some odd things going on D1. He needs some chipotle, or he is scum.

Yes that's funnny alright.
Chaqa, since you are here, why did you tell Fluminator you'd vote for Ghug, and then, not do that?

Yeah that was overall terrible and I regretted it instantly, and for the rest of the game. For some reason I was convinced you were either the item role or scum, and when you claimed VT and had me in your short list of potential jailers I just dug into my scumread...Vecna wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 9:02 amyou probably missed it, but kgray tricked me into thinking it was you i was talking to in jailed chat lol, so i was extra nice to you. and then she pushed my daykill for itFluminator wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 11:01 pmI was the only one who correctly read you last game.
